Glad to hear the good news, J4O. One of my dearest friends recently finished a year-long work assignment in Brussels. Just exchanged notes with her. Sheβs trying to get in touch with friends and colleagues there now.

This thread is moving me to tears…thanks Chips for this front-page post, and many thanks to Nerdy, LP, meta, dudette, and everyone else who has contributed pics, video, tweets as part of this breathtaking ObamaenCuba coverage!!! :)
Indeed meta. I have to keep pinching myself with gratitude that Iβm alive to experience this Presidency and all the progress and history associated with it!
Iβm wrong, Iβm wrong, I know Iβm wrong, but my brain keeps pushing out memories of Dennis Haysbert playing a Cuban ball player in the movie Major League. :-D -D :-D
LOL! I was just thinking the same thing.
It would be kinda rude to run up the score too much. This is supposed to be some friendly “Baseball Diplomacy” :-)
My God! miracles are happening everyday. Our anthem sung beautifully by a Cuban choir in front of an African-American US President who is seated next to the Cuban president. The world IS changing and ISIS and the dregs of the GOP running for president are on their last legs. While it is true that they are trying to do as much damage as they can on their way out, ultimately they will lose big and the world will be a more fair and more equal place. The presidency of PBO has shown the world that the things we never dared to dream really can come true; thanks be to God and all of the people all over the world of good will who stand up against those who would rather destroy than build.
Just watched the opening ceremonies on the YouTube that Chips provided (waited to watch it on my TV for a bigger picture). Sooooo bummed/pissed that ESPN did not open the whole game up so that this history could be viewed by everyone! Ah well, the downside of capitalism :-)
Glad that I didnβt have to hear any commentary on that Chips-provided YouTube though. Seeing PBO come in and Pete Souza following and the faces in the crowd (one guy pointing to his NYC baseball cap when he noticed he was on camera) was exciting, but I was totally moved when I heard the Star Spangled Banner being sung, as our flag flew over the stadium and I could see our POTUS and FLOTUS singing along….. IN CUBA! What an amazing day!
On a side note: Does anyone know the significance of the little kids walking in with the baseball players? That seemed kind of weird to me.
Back later!
Truly amazing! Many thanks, Chips! Congrats again, GGAil!
Bye Chips & thanks for everything <3
Good afternoon, Chips and GG!
A day we will remember for all that is electrifying and chocking.
Live interview with the President on ESPN in just a moment!
Really awesome video/narration by Doug Glanville:
Just keep calm and put all your intelligence to work.
Iβm not a big Patriotism/My Country/My Flag kind of person, but I must say I find this moment surprisingly moving…
POTUS and FLOTUS are so funny and playful! I love watching them together. :-)
Our President is one sexy guy. Yum!
FLOTUS, POTUS and NSA Chief Rice cheering on the USβs 1st run! Yay!
ESPN POTUS interview coming up mid-inning!
My law firm has an office in Brussels. All our employees are either safe at home or on lockdown at the office.

Hope all is well with her friends and colleagues.
I could watch this all day! :-D
Secret Service & Security ainβt feeling it, & I understand and appreciate their attention to their duties.
Iβm with ya!

hf, this is among the greatest times of our lives. Just amazing all the historic social change weβve witnessed. WOW! Itβs a thrill.

This talk of carpet bombing - any where - is so illogical and purely emotional and that is NOT our PBO
No, not our PBO. Itβs Ted Cruz who will NEVER be POTUS.
Jeter said they were talking about golf, Jeter said he told POTUS money in a golf game, and POTUS wanted to win it back.
Iβm wrong, Iβm wrong, I know Iβm wrong, but my brain keeps pushing out memories of Dennis Haysbert playing a Cuban ball player in the movie Major League. :-D -D :-D
Gurrrrrl :D :D :D
Tee-hee-hee! :-D
Oh Dudette, that is one of my favorite movies. Such fun.
:-D
POTUS just left the game, the First Family are on their way to Argentina.
I donβt want to hear that right wing crap about this President should go back to America because of the terrorists attack overseas.
Oh Lord, the score is 3-0 in the 4th. Please donβt beat them too bad yβall
LOL! I was just thinking the same thing.

:D :D :D
Thank you Chips and NW for once again providing the best coverage of President Obamaβs history making travels!!!
BTW, Turkey is as big a part of the #DAESH terrorist syndicate as SA and all the other Sunni/Salafi cesspools ….
#TrustBarack
President said she was gorgeous in his interview with ESPN. <3 <3 <3
in response to
Exactly…
The Presidentβs 15 minute interview during the game broadcast is worth a watch
It was great! I hope they post video of it somewhere.

Two more questions for those watching the game:
I read that PBO left at the 4th inning. Do you think that was planned or that there was an emergency?
What inning are we on and what is the score?
