What a man, what a man, what a man, what a mighty good man :-)
Sigh… that’s what I want. A man that’s looking out for his woman always. And THIS one looks out for his woman while also looking out for the USA and the World!
Every time I see a reference to National Geographic my heart just sinks. Its now owned by none other than Rupert Murdock. There are just some things that should never happen.
Arizona Dem primary has been declared for HRC - with 1% counted she leads BS 61 to 37. The other who should not be named was declared for the Republicans (Drumpf) Grrr…….
actually nothing random about it. I checked out several and couldn’t find one small enough that had a gif or jpg tag. some people just don’t know how to ……. I’m going to bed. Nighty-nite, Petal! See you tomorrow.
Yes, thank you, I did Nathk. I so like the thought that *I have my own* day - that alone is enough for me to make sure I enjoy it. Add to that all the good wishes and blessings I received from the TOD village, and ‘who could ask for anything more’.
Again, the GOP lives in the old times in their minds doing things in the old ways. Remember John McCain dismissing his campaign to travel to the WH to participate in an emergency meeting on the economy. It was really just a good photo op for him as he did not contribute any solution ideas. It seems dropping everything and only doing one thing at a time is the old way to give an image of concentrating all your efforts in one area. PBO proclaimed he could do more than one thing at a time. Was his terminology walk and chew gum?
I notice there are 4 hour queues to vote in Arizona. The US still needs the UN to oversee its elections. 20 min wait is reason for major complaints in my part of the world. Guess it’s all part of voter supression - only course left for the GOP. If the media was doing its job this would not happen.
Just an anecdote. A friend of mine who is married to a Tribal Chief (not Navajo, another tribe) said she attended an event where she saw Sanders ignore Native audience members’ questions and walk off the stage in the fashion we’ve come to know. Maybe the word got out.
Here’s my reply to Al Giordano (see my response to JO’B’s comment):
Native Americans are at the mercy of the federal government if they live on ancestral (aka “reservation” land) and the federal government has pretty much denied its responsibility for providing basic resources (like education) to those who are essentially trapped on reservation land. It’s a stain on this nation, yet completely ignored by Presidential candidates except for HRC.
@AlGiordano @jstuart902 Indigenous #RealAmericans are probably most neglected in US. @HillaryClinton is only #POTUS candidate who cares.
My tribe, the Grand Ronde tribes of Oregon of which I am of the Molalla tribe and live on the reservation has been thrilled with all of the help President Obama did during his tenure in many areas that was previously ignored.
RWNJs and Trump supporters would like our nation to be more like it was during the colonization of Latin America and during the Cold War.
Someone (our MSM? [hah, rhetorical question]) needs to inform today’s Americans of our nation’s shameful history when it comes to places like Argentina and Iran.
Have always despised Kissinger. From the article:
“This is a delicate matter, of course, given the US’ involvement in the Argentine dictatorship. It is now common knowledge that then US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger encouraged and provided strategic support to the violence that saw some 30,000 “disappeared” — seized and taken to internment centers to be tortured and killed — as part of the proxy wars fought in the Cold War’s context.”
RWNJs would never admit such “weakness” yet are the first to demand that other nations apologize for past actions.

I really hope Trump wins the nomination….we’re talking possible 40+ state electoral beatdown, possibly controlling both houses, and probably 3 SCOTUS nominations (Scalia [if still open] Ginsberg & Breyer/Kennedy…all will be in mid-80’s]
Ted Cruz has to win 90% of remaining delegates to get 1,237. He's a baseball team 25 games out at Labor Day saying it'll win the division.
Obama is set to be received in the Hall of Busts in La Casa Rosada by Mauricio Macri. The two leaders will then go alone to the Presidential office located on the first floor and will hold a bilateral meeting, a lovely little catch up.
Michelle Obama, the US First Lady, will also be meeting up with students at the Metropolitan Design Center in Barracas at 9:30 AM, as part of her Let Girls Learn scheme which she is promoting throughout the visit. It’s an initiative for young girls and adolescents, over 62 million of whom still face complex obstacles stopping them from getting a proper education.
Dudette, have to share with you:
On the way home from working tonight I drove by the Athenaeum and an event must have just ended because every car driving around, in front of and next to me was scientist’s car. Everything from a Prius with JPL and NASA stickers to a Volt with some math geek bumper sticker, to a Tesla with a LIC plate that said NASA…(don’t want to out their plate to the whole internet :-)
“The first formal dinner was held on February 4, 1931, with Albert Einstein as one of the important guests. Three Nobel Prize winners, Albert Einstein, Robert A. Millikan, and A. A. Michelson, attended that dinner. Portraits of Hale, Noyes, Millikan, the Balches, and Caltech’s past presidents hang in various rooms throughout The Athenaeum.”
Ha Ha! Just found this out:
The Harrow club (Beverly Hills Cop) was actually the Faculty Club building (known as The Athenaeum) on the campus of CalTech (the California Institute of Technology)
I’m guessing lunch will have happened, and then he’s going to head down to the Metropolitan Cathedral amid an enormous, slick security operation to pay a floral tribute to General José de San Martín, the leader of Argentina’s independence movement.
Damn, being the President really is a busy job. Obama will pay a quick visit to La Boca to force a smile, do some presidential handshaking and speak with young entrepreneurs at the Usina del Arte.
400 guests will join the Obamas in the Bicentennial (formerly Kirchner) Cultural Center. Maybe they’ll be treated to chorriPRO to be slurped down with some malbec.
Although the White House have said in no uncertain terms that the visit is “not about the past,” rather poignantly both Obama and Macri will be paying their respects to the victims of the last military dictatorship in Remembrance Park sometime in the morning. This particular 24th of March is an important date as it marks the 40th anniversary of the 1976 military coup that starting a seven-year long dictatorship.
Later in the day (Thursday), the Obama family will be flying out to have some downtime out in the Patagonian town of Bariloche before returning promptly to Buenos Aires to fly back to Washington at 23:30 PM.
Not confirmed, but someone mentioned they might be spending some time at a resort caled Llao LLao

Dudette - you are on the biggest of big rolls! Just got home from shopping to be greeted by your delightful pictures. I can no longer imagine the US without PBO leading the way. In the next few years the rules just have to change!
Glad you’re enjoying the posts, 99ts dear! I just get so excited when POTUS (especially with the family) goes on these trips!
We’ll be okay with Hillary in the chair. It won’t be the same for sure. We’ll just have to keep tabs on PBO. We all know he’ll continue doing great things.

To echo, Meta:
Missed them getting down the stairs and into the car. Too fast for me! :-(
Sorry, best I could do.
Wow. Even MSNBC covered the President and his family as they arrived in Argentina.
Wonder if Raúl Castro was there to greet him. Oops - wrong country. Settle down, RWNJs.

Actually they didn’t shake any hands, just hopped in the car.
OMG. You saw her dress, of course. Stunning!
