Would you believe we actually tried doing the tango as part of a ballroom dancing class we once took. I thought the dance teacher was going to burst with the effort not to laugh. Awful would be too kind a term for it.
:-) I was saying to PragObots on Twitter last night that I like the walking part of it, but the twisty turny bits ….. I’d need the fire department to free me.
Exactly. And when your partner doesn’t know what he’s doing, as my poor husband did not, you end up in a pathetic tangle.
Don’t forget the flick the leg through your partners leg part. I shudder to think of the accidents when amateurs bungle that. 😁😁😂
I took belly dancing classes once with none other than my mom and her best friend (retired teachers). It was the best thing I ever did because the group never stopped laughing. Talk about not taking yourselves too seriously. Belly dancing was the exercise craze at the time like yoga is today. We had read it was good for your midriff. Had to wear belts with shiny spangles over our leotards. Oh so funny I have to grin just thinking about it. We should all take dance classes but just for fun. We would be a happier, healthy country.

Good morning TOD family, Chips, Danny, lurkers, and all our friends. I chuckled when someone in a fun way was critical if PBO’s tango dancing and they got shut down, in a resoectful way because this TOD. Anyway i wanted to say last summer Purpleshoes, GGail, Tally and i attended a Tango dance event thanks to Purpkeshoes. It is a hard dance to learn in just a few lessons. Seeing PBO get up and LOOK like he knew what he was doing pulled it off for me. He got up there with confidence but not cocky. He and FLOTUS did a lot better than i did and i had one-one demostration and still stepped on my partners toes. :) :)

I think it would be okay with all of us if the tango image started every day. Was feeling really rotten yesterday with coughing and headache, but seeing the President dance the tango blew it all away. As Dudette so perfectly said, ‘OMG, OMG, OMG.’

Thanks, VC. It’s been a persistent sucker and I can’t seem to shake it off, which puts a damper on everything I try to do. Needless to say, it’s been a rotten year, healthwise.

I know, I know, we have people getting stuck just trying to get into our parking lot. LOL. The plows haven’t come through yet. It will be awhile before the contractor comes and gets us plowed out. I have no where to go today. One of my friends Daughter is celebrating her 50th today but It will probably have to wait for a day. So I can make her Gluten free cupcakes. it’s just one of those days in Minnesota. Happens very year during March Madness.

Good morning. About to get ready for school, but had to comment once again on the tango pictures. Loved them! Loved it that the woman who danced with the President tweeted about it and was obviously thrilled. POTUS and FLOTUS are such good sports. They are the two favorite people in the world, in many different countries. They have done more to re-establish our reputation as a caring, welcoming country than anyone else. Our reputation was destroyed by 2008, and they have spent the last seven years rebuilding for us. They are superb.
I hope they get to have a nice leisurely vacation in Argentina in a couple or years. I watch travel programs constantly, and there are some spectacular places to visit. Welcome back this evening, Mr. President. You always make us proud!

Thanks to Chips and NW for the beautiful travelogue of the Obamas in Latin America. Bo and MO, by just being themselves, have paved a new way for future First Couples. It is okay to be who you really are.
Of the many things that the Obamas do better than many Americans, especially those in public office, is the double-cheek embrace or greeting. They do it without discomfort or artifice, and often, they are the ones who move in first; none of that awkward and embarrassing hesitation that you see many Americans, especially men show.
Off for a busy day with Mom (will show her all of the photos; I called her last night and woke her up to tell her about the tango) and will check in later today. We have had true Spring weather in Florida for the first time in awhile (none of that scorching heat of previous years) and I am really enjoying it.

I was turning the tv and came across CNN this morning and there they were discussing the President remaining on this trip and him dancing. I remember what jacquelineoboomer said last night to ignore them and that’s what I did, I keep turning the channel.
Glad to see Jonathan Capehart finally asking about Lebanon, Nigeria, Mali, Turkey, etc.
I tweeted him several times yesterday & today.
