Who knows, who cares, Chips …. all that matters is that the Twitterverse is having a grand time of it :D :D

On seriously, yes it’s way past time for folk to get certain clues side …..

And, on the creatively funny side ….

And, back to work except to note how remarkably silent - from all reports I’ve seen since I never listen to the crap - the ‘very serious #NEWSTAINER class’ seems to be silent on the matter … Cheers!

So if she refuses, what will he do; endorse Trump/Cruz (GOP nominee)??? He who is not and will not become a Democrat (based on is filing to run again as an IND in Vermont) wants to dictate how the Democratic Party should be?!?!?!? The audacity of ego.

    =====

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) insisted he’ll stay in the presidential race, but outlined conditions under which he would endorse Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton “if I can’t make it.”

Sanders, who badly trails Clinton in delegates for the Democratic nomination, said Wednesday that his chief priorities include making sure the party embraces his anti-establishment platform and expands its base.

Sanders also listed policy demands he would make of Clinton, including a single-payer health care system, a $15 an hour minimum wage, tougher regulation of the finance industry, closing corporate tax loopholes and “a vigorous effort to address climate change.”

The one thing that I will say about Hillary, when it was her turn to play a good soldier and endorse President Obama she did it, she might have done it reluctantly but in the end she embraced President Obama and her and Bill campaigned for President Obama. Unlike Bernie Sanders, he wants to destroy the Democratic Party all because the voters weren’t interested in his pie in the sky bullshit. And now Sanders is threatening the Democratic Party and making demands. Since when does the loser gets to make demands?

While he is enjoying his 30 minutes of fame, I truly don’t believe this “one hit wonder” really wants to be POTUS. He just wanted a forum to preach about *his* issues, and in the process is making over-the-top promises to retain his support. He cares little (if anything) about the span of issues that POTUS/CIC should care about. He doesn’t have the demeanor that would make him a successful POTUS. Does he even know the meaning of “compromise” much less “diplomacy”?

Yep, the only thing this clown wanted was a bigger platform to spew the bullshit that’s be building inside of him for ages, and what better way to do that than to fun for President. Like Trump, Sanders has no advisors or infrastructure around him to navigate the social, economic, a political landscape.

VERY WELL SAID. He entered the race knowing very well he wouldn’t win. He just wanted to make a point. He is the man of ONE issue: income inequality. You ask him a question about any problem and in a matter of minutes he will all bring it back to the concentration of wealth. Granted income inequality is a very very important problem; but after a while you realize Bernie’s vision of the world is pretty narrow.

Another thing that bothers me is that he is driven by one emotion: rage. Not far from hate. Compare this to the tone of Barack Obama in 2008.

You can’t be a leader if you use divisive language. You can’t be a leader if you don’t propose a positive and REALISTIC path to change.

The scene of the states calling out delegates at the 2008 convention, & they skipped states so Hillary could put PBO over the top with NY’s votes- THAT’s how Democrats behave. It was the beginning of Hillary’s path to finding her own greatness, with PBO’s help. Although there were some slips along the way, Bill was a very effective champion for PBO in both elections.

No way BS will do that, ever.

I effing loathe this guy. And trust me, he would move the goalposts, just like GOP.

Climate change, corporate tax loopholes, regulation of finance industry - already important to HRC and the Dems. Of course, “tougher” regulation” to BS means destroying the 21st century banking system. The Sanders supporters think $12/hour minimum wage is evil, but $15/hour minimum wage is Heaven.

I wish Hillary had made more of an effort in the caucus states so we could minimize BS’ gloating.

I want him gone. And his pixie dust supporters to grow the hell up and try to build a real progressive political infrastructure - that means building public opinion over years and decades instead of demanding which ends in backlash.

      I loathe these people.

President Barack Obama and not his successor elected in November should be the one who gets to nominate the next Supreme Court justice, according to the results of a national CNN/ORC poll released Friday.

Nearly six-in-10 — 57 percent — said Obama should be able to make the pick, which he did on March 16, sending the nomination of D.C. Circuit chief judge Merrick Garland to the Senate. Another 40 percent said the next president elected in November and taking office in January should be the person to tap the potential justice to fill the vacancy.

And the reality of the situation is that Americans in 2016 aren’t hungry for a political revolution. In fact, it can be argued that Barack Obama already achieved a revolution in 2008. The people most hungry for change are millennials who are receiving the brunt of thirty years of destructive Republican policies. They simply don’t understand that their stagnant wages, high cost of living, and student loan debt are all products of a concerted effort by Republican administrations to continue to peddle the myth of trickle-down economics. They also fail to realize that the proposals Bernie Sanders is making such as a higher minimum wage, universal healthcare, free community college, and improving our infrastructure are all things that Barack Obama has proposed and enacted as best he could under his constitutional authority as well as blatant Republican obstruction. Millennials, largely unaware of how partisan Washington D.C. had become, were fully on board for Sander’s political revolution.

      March 25, 2025 at 9:01 am

Great points, ladyhawke. And it doesn’t help that clueless emprogs, of whom BS is their leader, blame Dems & PBO for these issues.

The best and only way to change the dynamic is incremental change, so that public opinion comes along with the changes and progressive policies become part of the national identity again. To demand, to tear apart, only creates backlash.

We need an informed electorate….hard to have..when no one seems to tell the real truth…the DNC has been very quiet these 8 years about touting the accomplishments of the DEMs and this President…dovetail that with the lies of the GOP and RW entertainment radio…and their handmaidens in the MSM..

That’s one of the problems. Fewer Democrats invited on TV to tout PBO”s accomplishments; only invited the ones who complained about him or what he wasn’t doing has led to this uninformed electorate. Thank God for this place or i’d be one of them.

The arrogance is starting to annoy the hell out of me. CA is blue, we get that; but the BS campaign assumes that means that they are all raving emoprogs. CA is diverse, has reelected a centrist Senator in Dianne Feinstein for decades. There are many sane Democratic Californians who want stable, incremental change and don’t want their lives put at risk for the likes of BS’ “revolution”.

I think Hillary needs to sharpen her attacks a bit. She has run an almost entirely positive campaign (something BS promised but he apparently loves being in the gutter). However, there is a line between who gets to frame who. Hillary needs to do a bit of that, IMO.

So Mr 99 has been asking me questions about US politics - mainly in relation to PBO’s nomination to SCOTUS. Then travelled to the spat between Trump & Cruz with the outcome looking like Cruz is more road kill.

Tony Abbott was a disaster (and a book I am currently reading is telling me much I never knew about it all) BUT compared to the GOP pretenders Abbott is a sane, resourceful, admirable leader.

“Morning Joe” childishness: The show’s inane demand that President Obama treat Americans like children

Obama’s response to the terrorist attack in Brussels was measured and serious. Of course, “Morning Joe” hated it

    ELIAS ISQUITH

Earlier this week, a series of coordinated terror bombings in Brussels, which ISIS claims it planned, left 34 human beings (including three perpetrators) dead. The terrorists bombed the city’s airport and one of its metro stations. Taken altogether, the real target of the attack was clear. It was the European project itself; and the modern cosmopolitanism that, to many, it represents.

At the risk of stating the obvious: These are serious issues. And they deserve a serious response. President Barack Obama, who was on a diplomatic trip in Cuba and elsewhere in South America, provided that serious response. And this made some of the media’s self-designated stewards of American empire very, very mad.

What happened in Arizona wasn’t an accident: When states make voting impossible, it’s for a very clear reason

Arizona residents were forced to wait hours on line in order to vote in this week’s primary. Some were turned away. VIDEO

    BOB CESCA

Once again, an American election was unnecessarily thwarted by long lines and not enough ballots. To say there’s no excuse for such nonsense, especially in a nation that prides itself on its representative democracy and, yes, its exceptionalism, is understating the problem. This time around, it happened during the Arizona primary where countless voters were forced to stand in lines for hours, while others were told they weren’t registered in the first place.

In Maricopa County alone, election officials infuriatingly reduced the number of polling places by 70 percent. Such a drastic reduction meant there was only one polling place per 21,000 residents of the highly populated Phoenix metroplex. Officials including County Recorder Helen Purcell (a Republican) said the cutbacks were due to budgetary concerns. Uh-huh. Of course, I doubt members of either party who were forced to wait in five-hour lines would’ve minded the additional expense to facilitate our most basic right as Americans. Elsewhere, independent voters who switched their registration to the Democratic Party were allegedly told they hadn’t registered at all, forcing them to sit out the closed primary.

The second-in-command of so-called Islamic State (IS) has been killed in a US operation in Syria, US media report.

Defence officials told NBC News that Abdul Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, an Iraqi who was also known as Hajji Iman, was killed during a raid this month.

US Defence Secretary Ash Carter was expected to confirm the jihadist militant’s death and provide details of the raid at 10:30 (14:30 GMT).

The US authorities had offered a reward of $7m (£5m) for Qaduli.
