Good Morning, JackieG. If youâre still around, I hope you get well soon.
Iâve suffered through bronchitis before and have been told that, having had it, I am susceptible to getting it again. So every time I get a little cough, I up my fluid intake to try to ward it off. Trying to talk while coughing and trying to catch your breath is a miserable feeling.
Chips, has anyone brought you up to date on our TOD group plans to DC in June? It is on and popping! We are reserving our hotel rooms and making our flight reservations. Itâs getting exciting!!
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Saturday morning. Congrats Don, on being first this morning.
To all, I hope you have an easygoing, peaceful, and tranquil day today. <3<3<3
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. âđ âđ âđ
Very, very few dance compositions rank in the class of ‘Suite Brancaâ (imho), Dudette. And, the Gropo Corpo dancers are among the very best in the world, today. I have experienced only four other companies of comparable quality.
All the media are responsible for Donald J. Trump, because the media were more concern about ratings. The Republican Party is just as responsible, if there are any decent Republicans out there they have to look themselves in the mirror and ask themselves is these two the best we can come up with, what thew hell happen to our party? I would not want my kids, anyone kids acting the way Trump and Cruz is.
One of the reasons I enjoyed Mad Men on AMC so much was to see how they incorporated music from the 1960s in the show.
Can still recall my last school bus trip after 6th grade was over, driver allowing us to blast “Satisfaction” that day since it was the last day of school. The bus driver was so sweet, a young man with a foreign (Russian perhaps?) accent.
That song definitely brings to mind summer for me. :)
Hawaii, Alaska, and Washington caucuses today. I guess the *expectation* is that, because they are caucuses, Bernie will sweep todayâs contests. Weâll see.
If nothing else, the media is definitely giving BS more exposure with his rallies. Like helium to BSâs head.
Iâd be happy if she kept them close. BS is very confident, but he was about AZ too. Oh wait, hillz stole AZ because GOP gov and legislature and a RW SCOTUS gutted VRA. The childish whining from BS and his cult is on my last nerve.
Clinton has the support of top Democrats there like Gov. Jay Inslee and Sen. Maria Cantwell, has campaigned in the state and she, former President Bill Clinton and Chelsea Clinton have held fundraisers in the state.
Both candidates, however, have a safety net: Delegates in Democratic caucuses and primaries are awarded proportionally. And in a race expected to be tight, neither candidate is going home empty handed.
Am going to caucus this morning. In 2008 it was off the hook, 2012 there were 4 of us. Today who knows? Am doing my centering exercises so I can calmly refute the Berniebros…….. I expect Bernie to win but HRC has been working the phones and getting her people out.
Polling is non-existent in Hawaii, but local Democrats âeven ones supporting Clinton â have a straightforward read on Saturday: A Sanders win is expected, a Clinton victory is a shocker.
The Sanders campaign is spending big in search of a blowout. In the last month, the Sanders campaign spent $230,000 on state TV and radio ads while the Clinton campaign has spent just $40,000.
Clinton hasnât spent much time or energy in Alaska, and the Sanders campaign is hoping to pounce on what the Democratic frontrunner left for the taking.
The state is fertile ground for a Sanders: itâs a majority white caucus state with an anti-establishment flavor. The state also went for Obama over Clinton in 2008, and the Sanders campaign has spent $61,000 on TV and radio advertising in March while Clinton has not spent any money.
The Clinton campaign hasnât left the state totally off its radar though. On Friday the campaign released a robocall by former President Bill Clinton across the state encouraging Democrats to vote.
I guess Krispy Kreme Khristie just doesnât care anymore…..time to blimp-up now that he wonât be President and neither will Trump who he was hoping to make VP. I guess Krispy can still be VP…Very Plump.
But but but…I thought it was all about class though….

Poor white kids are less likely to go to prison than rich black kids
By Max Ehrenfreund
March 23
“Race trumps class, at least when it comes to incarceration,” said Darrick Hamilton of the New School, one of the researchers who produced the study.
He and his colleagues, Khaing Zaw and William Darity of Duke University, examined data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, a national study that began in 1979 and followed a group of young people into adulthood and middle age. The participants were asked about their assets and debts, and interviewers also noted their type of residence, including whether they were in a jail or prison.
The researchers grouped participants in the survey by their race and their household wealth as of 1985 and then looked back through the data to see how many people in each group ultimately went to prison. Participants who were briefly locked up between interviews might not be included in their calculations of the share who were eventually incarcerated.
About 2.7 percent of the poorest white young people â those whose household wealth was in the poorest 10th of the distribution in 1985, when they were between 20 and 28 years old â ultimately went to prison. In the next 10th, 3.1 percent ultimately went to prison.
………………..
About 10 percent of affluent black youths in 1985 would eventually go to prison. Only the very wealthiest black youth â those whose household wealth in 1985 exceeded $69,000 in 2012 dollars â had a better chance of avoiding prison than the poorest white youth. Among black young people in this group, 2.4 percent were incarcerated.
Good morning, TOD! Plans for the DC Meet-up, June 16 - 19, 2016 are coming along very nicely. If youâd like to join us and ARE NOT on the email list, send me you email in a private message on twitter (@jazziz2) or facebook (Alycee Ruley).
Reminder for those on the list, Groupon Bus Tour sale ends tonight…
And he says he is self-financing??? PLEASE!!!! The *free* media coverage would be costly if he had to pay for it.

I believe that I read that most of the money he is putting into his campaign is in the form of loans which will be paid back to him from revenue made through his fundraising/product sales.
Nathan Dealâs vexing decision: Will he sign Georgiaâs âreligious libertyâ bill? https://t.co/ACVPt9k5v4 #gapol pic.twitter.com/qEwCmXJN1a
— Ga Politics News (@GAPoliticsNews) March 25, 2025
Business leaders and gay rights activists cast it as little more than legalized discrimination and warn it can irreparably harm Georgiaâs business reputation. They point to the blowback in Indiana, when corporate outrage over a similar measure put the Midwestern state in the middle of a media firestorm.
Some of the stateâs most prominent business boosters have mobilized against the bill. And leaders of major international tech corporations, including Apple, Intel, PayPal, Salesforce and Yelp, have called on Deal to veto the measure. The Human Rights Campaign has called on Hollywood film companies to abandon Georgia if Deal signs the measure. The stateâs pro sports franchises have all criticized the bill, and the National Football League suggested it could jeopardize Atlantaâs Super Bowl bid.
Yep. Heâd better veto that mess. Aside from the harm it will do by allowing rampant discrimination, tons of jobs and his reputation for bringing business into the state goes up in smoke. He has until May 3rd to take action. I hope heâs not stupid enough to sign that bill ot drag out his veto until May.
I agree that he needs to go ahead and veto it instead of dragging it out until May. I canât see him risking all the revenue that will surely dry up if this bill goes through.
My guess he will not veto it since his entire legislature passed it. It will pass in the middle of the night or he will veto it and they will change it slightly. I would STILL leave GA because this is how their state government feels. This is Unconstitutional and will not stand with the SCOTUS.
The bill has already passed both chambers and legislative session ended Thursday night. My math says there arenât enough votes in the house to override a veto.
Wow Dudette, that womanâs story is astonishing - actually, itâs probably common. I can understand why an ‘English-speakingâ airline would be reluctant to have non-English speakers in an exit seat, in case they didnât understand instructions during an emergency, but to handle it in this way? Why didnât they just explain to the woman their policy in these situations? They end up throwing her off the plane? Christ.
Chips how much of a factor was the iris Catholic and the British Protestant ? Were they not discriminatory ? The British thought they were better than?
Also, Cruz policies are a lot more destructive toward womenâs needs than trump.
Cruz means to take control of the womb…
True story.

1st!
:-)
Good Morning, Don! Congrats! First seems to be a regular spot for you these days. :-D
It is both a blessing and a curse that few people can comprehend, but I soldier on.
Oh the burdens we must bear. ;-)
It is a lonely existence, at times I long to taste the trappings of the common man.
Just donât forget, to whom much is given, much is expected. Youâve raised the bar for yourself, Don. “Common” is not acceptable.
In other in other words, with great power comes great responsibility. Always keep yours spinnerets loaded.

Oi, when you had your ass whipped in failed risings as often as the Ireesh did by the Brits, youâre entitled to a beer or 97 for comfort.
or, one could stay sober at least when one is frigginâ fighting their mortal enemies.
Listen, if all I had to fight cannons was a pea-shooter, Iâd get pissed furst too.
