I have all my DVRs set for my monthly quest to see how much of a media blackout the evening news broadcasts will devote to the new job #’s and have no room to watch live…

        • April 1, 2025 at 5:42 pm

Aaaaaaaah, an outstanding project! Even if the figures are mentioned, you can be damn sure it’ll be in a 10 second segment midway through the news.🙄

The only upshot is the fact that the PC is being held shortly is it guarantees coverage….I’m also 100% sure it will it will be some form of (ISIS related comments) and not non-proliferation successes that have occurred over the last 7 years that will be shown….add in the guarantee of some Trump/2016 related question….lets just say my hopes are not high.

ICYMI a wonderful love story that spans from Australia to my hometown Indy:

“INDIANAPOLIS – This love story, both a human love story and a basketball love story, began with a hat. Yes, this is an unusual love story, the one that starts with the hat, so follow along. A young man named Ben Teh was 12 years old and living in New Zealand when he went to Los Angeles to visit Disneyland on a family vacation. While he was there, he noticed a sporting goods store across the street. The place was filled with the hats of all the marquee American sports franchises, notably the Chicago Bulls and the New York Yankees. But Teh didn’t want to be like everybody else, wearing one of those hats, so he looked around. And then he saw it: An Indiana Pacers hat. “It was the only Pacers hat left in the whole store”…That, then, is how a Kiwi who grew up on rugby, Aussie Rules Football and cricket became a crazed Indiana Pacers fan. He would play the NBA ’98 video game and always pick the Pacers as his team. He would watch them during the rare ESPN game when they were shown. When Pacers games come on TV in Australia, it’s usually 9 or 10 in the morning. “I try to work from home those days,”Teh said. These days, he’s a huge Paul George fan. “And George Hill, the whole hometown hero thing,” Ben said. “It’s weird that I have this huge draw to Indiana. And for no real reason.”Because of a hat, a lonely hat in a Los Angeles sporting goods store.”She (Malinda) thinks I’m crazy,” Ben said later, sitting with his wife on the Pacers’ bench during pre-game warm-ups Tuesday. For confirmation, I turn to Malinda. “He is crazy,’’ she said, laughing.

This is how crazy: The couple were married in 2015 and have just gotten around to taking a honeymoon. They hoped to spend five weeks traveling throughout the U.S., spending time in New York, New Orleans and other locales. Instead, they spent two days in San Francisco and then came out to Indianapolis, where they’ve spent five days and have now attended two home Pacers’ games. This, naturally, raised a question, one I posed to Malinda: “What did you think when he said he wanted to spend a good portion of your honeymoon in Indianapolis? “Malinda looked me straight in the eye and said this: “Because of all he’s done for me. I wanted to do this for him. He moved to Sydney to be with me. I just want to see him happy.”…….This is where it stops being a basketball love story, at least for a minute, and starts being a true human love story. Because Malinda, who Ben fell in love with the minute he saw her at a Melbourne bar, was also quite ill. She was suffering, and continues to suffer, with Stage 4 breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her back and her legs. The prognosis is as dim as one might expect. But Ben didn’t care. Not a bit. He asked her to marry him, and she said yes. He asked her knowing all the while she might not be in his life for very long. And yet, there was never a moment’s hesitation. Not one….continued”

      GE niliathiel.

Agree — PBO sounds a bit hoarse — he can’t afford to get sick, with everything on his plate, every single day.

Have never in my lifetime seen a President juggle so many balls in the air, taking direct action on at least a different one every day — PBO has an excellent staff.

With nothing but obstruction by GOP, second-guessing and speculation/criticism from our media and leftwing whining to make everything he does a challenge — who wouldn’t be exhausted?

BTW — do you know when PBO will be at Hanover-Messe — it’s scheduled for the week of April 25 — PBO will be in Saudi Arabia on Apr 21 for the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), then to London — but he has to be back to DC for International Jazz Day on Apr 29, and the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is the next day. Whew, exhausted just typing PBO’s late April schedule.

        April 1, 2025 at 6:55 pm

I would guess he´d be at the Hannover Messe on opening day, because that´s, I believe, when Merkel would be there and do a tour of it. So that would be my guess.

          April 1, 2025 at 8:15 pm

Thank you, niliathiel — PBO did attend the Detroit auto show this year, but attended after all other dignitaries had left.

Hope you keep us updated — European events seem to happen between 1-5am west coast time which try as I might, usually snooze though. Love to see local color when PBO is abroad.

            April 2, 2025 at 6:41 am

I will keep you updated. The opening would be my safest guess for now because that´s when the chancellor is usually there I believe and since it´s a foreign visit I don´t think he has the flexibility in Germany to just be poppin´up out of the blue. Even though I sure would be the last to mind.?

I am happy to see this as well. I think they were just talking about the last concert for Black History Month but they have done others throughout the year. Maybe there will be one more after the Jazz festival before they leave. Gotta have a big going away party.

Absolutely agree with you. PBO is President through Jan 19. Would love to see a huge blowout party for Michelle on Jan 17, 2025 (after newly sworn in Dems have taken their House and Senate seats the first week of January).:)

Nerdy, its like every myth from the disappointeds is making the rounds in the Sanders campaign. So many tuned out after the President was elected and ignored the continuing grassroots organizing. I was always conflicted because I figured there was some value in being under the radar. Only occasionally did the right go after OFA. The lefty left just ridiculed it. Even after the election arm won two national elections in a row it was still worth nothing. The issue organizing has been going on all along. Its vital. How do these people get this ridiculous. What a stable of surrogates. Just terrible. Susan Sarandon is not the only one that is bonkers.

This was such a HUGE and important undertaking. Congrats to POTUS and team on the success of it all.

With 16 different languages from around the world represented at last night's working dinner on nuclear threats, we constructed a tent on the North Portico for translators. Each booth was ready to provide translations for the more than 50 world leaders inside the White House. #NuclearSecurity

LOL - thanks LP for the update. :) At this rate, I’ll take the 8 seconds that NBC has given us. Of course CBS is hoping to catch a negative angle without appearing outwardly to do so. And as for ABC, they can take OJ’s knife and ……ll!

I know I’m an idiot to get riled up about anything in that loathsome rag the Daily Mail, but….

They have a WHOLE piece up (won’t link) with these headlines:

Peace out, fools! Obama plays the clown by flashing the peace sign for nuclear security summit ‘team photo’… and gets a very unimpressed look from David Cameron and bemused world leaders

President Barack Obama is meeting dozens of world leaders for a nuclear summit in Washington, DC, today
He gave the peace sign as the group stood together for a ‘team photo’ - bemusing dozens of the world’s politicians
Prime Minister David Cameron looked less than impressed by Obama’s behavior amid a strained special relationship

And they have photos of PBO holding up what looks like the peace sign (like there’d be anything wrong with that!)

Check the video - it’s PBO telling and indicating to the photographers that ?We’ve just got two more folks we’re waiting on’

    Jesus wept.

100% the US media - while the president has a Press Conference on nuclear security, the media wants to talk about DC madams and Donald Trump. This is why there are 27% dumb enough to vote for their own worst enemy.

I give the media 90% of the blame for what the GOP has become.

This is such b.s - where I live, if you move states, you go online and change your address. If this can’t be done you fill in a form & if that doesn’t work your local politician will sort it out for you. My grandmother’s name on her birth certificate bore no relationship to her real name (her cornish father was illiterate & the registrar obviously couldn’t understand his accent) & she had no trouble voting.

The only reason for this is to suppress the vote. The last gasp of the GOP in attempting to keep power.

I don’t care. As the tweet say below.. BS’ campaign is trying to paint President Obama a “failure” which is a LIE. I hate seeing that stupid logo on the Obama Diary.
