In photos and clips you can tell that they like each other. I’ve seen more than one photo of HRC looking at PBO almost like a fan with a crush. She’s a Scorpio and Scorpios never fake respecting someone.
When I first realized that VP Biden wasn’t running, I was more like, “Hillary? is that all we’ve got?”
But she has grown as a candidate and she’s so much more natural this time. I let go of my resentment from 2008 and then I could see how she’s sooo the most qualified candidate. I also realized that PBO never would have chosen someone for his SoS that he didn’t respect and trust. I like her message this time around and her deep and detailed grasp of issues and ideas for solutions. HRC won’t be PBO. He’s once in a lifetime. I won’t be following her admin like I have PBO’s. She will probably make decisions that piss me off, but she’ll probably also pleasantly surprise me. I feel comfortable now with her succeeding PBO.
I looked at my little stub after voting today and thought, “Another souvenir of a historic vote.”
I’m getting excited! We’re going to have a woman president!
Mitch McConnell is usually a more savvy operator than this when it comes to separating the loud parts and the quiet parts. Trump must really have him rattled.
There is no doubt in my mind about this. Deadbeat Donnie has given away the game that he and his mentors spent forty years playing exclusively through dog whistles. He’s careening around the country, listening to no one and sucking up all the media oxygen that isn’t going to Hillary. He’s killing the prospects of many a Senate GOPer in purplish states and he’s making every single minority population in the country remember why they hate white guys. It’s unfuckingbelievable, to me and, I’m absolutely sure, him. He thought he’d cruise through the summer after the primary season in which someone like Jeb! is installed as the crown prince to thrash the Hildebeast in the fall, release his first book and bask in the media glow of the Village for his wisdom and savvy, which he made sure to humbly highlight in his tome.
Now, the dream is gone. Worst summer vacation ever.
It appears to me that Trump thinks so much of himself that he thought he could attack certain groups of persons, and they’d vote for him anyway. He’s having to learn the hard way that words and actions have consequences, and that his power to control others only extends so far.
Not sure he will ever “learn” that words and actions have consequences (although the results may be pointed out to him), since he will just change the scenario to fit his dark thoughts, and blame others. Mostly everybody else will see it, but he’s a lost cause.
// Six states are going to the polls on the Democratic side, with a total of 694 delegates at stake. The most important of them by far is California, which has 475 of those delegates and where polls close at 11 pm Eastern/8 pm Pacific. The second-biggest prize is New Jersey, where 126 delegates are at stake; polls close at 8 pm Eastern.
The other four states to vote are New Mexico (34 delegates, polls close at 7 pm local time), Montana (21 delegates, polls close at 8 pm local time), South Dakota (20 delegates, polls close at 7 pm local time), and North Dakota (18 delegates, caucuses begin 7 pm local time). And technically there’s one more contest after this — the District of Columbia Democratic primary is a week from today, on June 14. //
Thanks hopefruit, most useful - Is New Jersey the first state where results will be known? I’m thinking from my limited knowledge (sorry - you have so many states, we only have 6 + 2 territories) it’s the only one on Eastern time
You’re right about NJ being on EDT (Eastern Daylight Saving Time), it’s 7:40 pm there now.
CA is the only state in PacificDT (4:40 pm here now), and the others are (mostly) in MountainDT an hour earlier (5:40 pm now) — portions of ND and SD are split between MDT and CentralDT (an hour later than Mountain, an hour earlier than Eastern).
ge arapaho & many thanks. Interesting that some states have time splits. We don’t do that - although we do have a 30 min change to our central time - which I understand is not the “done thing” timewise.
No need to apologize 99ts! Yes - NJ is the first closing because its the only state on the East…we should have an idea of the results in a few minutes.

Sen. Tim Scott Calls Trump’s Judge Comments ‘Racially Toxic,’ Not Racist
JUNE 7, 2016, 1:49 PM EDT
While Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) was deeply troubled by Donald Trump’s attacks against U.S. District Gonzalo Curiel — who Trump has repeatedly dismissed as “Mexican” and biased against him — Scott plans to continue supporting Trump and says the GOP’s presidential nominee has not crossed a line that would cause him to revoke his endorsement.
“His comments were certainly racially toxic. I don’t know the intent of his heart so I’m not going to call them racist comments but certainly they are racially toxic,” Scott told reporters on Capitol Hill Tuesday. “The fact of the matter is we have to find a way to unite this country around one goal, one mission with everyone in the same boat.”
Scott signaled there was a line that Trump could cross where he would revoke his endorsement, but “we’re not there yet.”
So Tim Scott thinks that Trump is so subtle we can’t know the intent of his heart? He’s giving Trump waaaaaaaay to much credit. He couldn’t hide the intent of his heart to save his own life. (was going to say ‘soul’, but…
There was some talk that Pres. Obama might be attending, before anything was announced. That was after the Muhammad Ali family announced Bill Clinton would be speaking. I didn’t think our current President would be put in that position - of being in the audience and not giving part of the eulogy, and now I see he won’t be.
So will we have to wait for BS to officially concede before we get his “Farewell to the Fallen??
Or will we have to settle for “Farewell to the Irrelevant??
For some reason Christie stood out in this photo to me - and I was thinking - he didn’t have to get indicted to lose out from Bridgegate - whether or not he ever faces the music, it ruined his political career.
I don’t know - I think it’s hard enough for many to grasp a woman POTUS, I wonder if it would weaken the ticket to try two. I’m more inclined to think one of the lovely Castro twins, tho Perez would help us feel our strength.
Concentrating on the President & GOP stated views of the economy - rather than the GOP nominee is how they convince (some) people to say they support the GOP - absolute push poll
Anyone wonder why Michelle Obama doesn’t want anything to do with politics? CaSandra Butt’s qualification had nothing to do with anything, it was all about that two bit racists bastard Tom Cotton hate for the black President.
It’s funny how Paul Ryan and all the other Republicans can say how racists the comment Trump made about the judge was, but for seven and a half years none of these same Republicans had nothing to say when the racism were being thrown at the President, First Lady or their daughters.
Overlooking terrorism that killed Americans, including the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, Donald Trump sought investment partnerships with Muammar al-Qaddafi and the Libyan regime. He invited the dictator to rent his Westchester estate, tried to set up a face-to-face meeting, and took the Libyan ambassador on a golf junket.
I remember when he invited Qaddafi to stay at his estate. As I remember, there was a tent put up and everything and then the press found out and leaked the news and photos and suddenly it was cancelled.
Only US TV I can find is MSNBC - do they have to have Chuck Todd talking his usual nonsense - ahhhhhhhhhhhh
Now he says the parties MUST change how they run their primaries. And now he’s comparing voting to buying soap powder.

“Among those listed in the program as having roles in the service are Superme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, US Rep James Clyburn, and journalist Gwen Ifill.
The program also includes photos of Butts with family, the poem ‘When Great Trees Fall’ by Maya Angelou, as well as an email list she sent out (an annual tradition) in 2015 of her favorite picks in art and culture (recommendations include TV shows ‘The Walking Dead’ and ‘Orange is The New Black,’ books ‘Migrations: Human in Transition’ and ‘The Fire Next Time,’ and movies ‘Spotlight’ and ‘About Elly.’ She also wrote at the time of music: ‘There was too much Prince to enjoy this year and his creative legend continues.)”

I understand that New Jersey Democratic demographics consist of black people and richer white people. We already know that (according to Sanders) black votes don’t count, so If Clinton wins NJ does that mean rich white people votes don’t matter either?
We Gotta Talk About Uncle Bernie’s Struggle Hair
Awesomely Luvvie — June 7, 2025
Listen. Folks keep talking about issues and stances and policy, ignoring the real important thing about this whole election. When are we going to have a real conversation about Bernie Sanders’ struggle hair? When are we going to get down to the nitty gritty and get to the heart of the matter of why that man refuses to get a good brush, some anti-frizz spray, holding gel? We are outchea hustling backwards, because we don’t want to confront what matters.
Uncle Bernie takes to these streets with bedhead, as if he ain’t got access to a haircut to lay his strands down better and some pomade and I do not understand. And it does add to his “Get off my lawn? disposition. I like Bernie, though. The cantankerous in me appreciates the cantankerous in him. Real recognize real but this hair of his just makes me cackle. He always looks like he just got really shocking news and had to run out his house real quick.
Because they can order anything on the menu and you can’t. Every brunch, you gotta start by asking if they got turkey bacon or turkey sausage or beef ribs. Not these people, they’re free. They’re happy. They’re getting the BLT.

I thought about Valerie Jarrett, after I mention VP Biden.

Just completed my first ever telephone-based public polling or political survey ever;
I live in the ultimately swing state which every gop must win if they are to win the White House;
unfortunately, it was from that infamous Rasmussen report;
wondered at the repeated focus on POTUS, a person who is not running in 2016;
made sure I completed the survey in order to give my unapologetic support for PBO in the many questions examples:
- how do you rate the performance of PBO during his tenure;
- has economy improved under PBO,
- based on current economic situation, what are your predictions about whether economy will continue to improve;
- do you anticipate that your person financial situation will continue to improve and has it improved under PBO;
- do you think PBO should campaign for candidates this election cycle;
- are you more likely to vote for candidates who support PBO’s agenda and what he has accomplished;
…………….
do you think it is okay to criticize a judge based on perceived political positions and is this likely to affect the independence of the judiciary;
so when Rasmussen releases its next survey results, I might be that one outlier supporting PBO
Concentrating on the President & GOP stated views of the economy - rather than the GOP nominee is how they convince (some) people to say they support the GOP - absolute push poll
Doesn’t sound to me that PBO’s going to endorse tomorrow night. I do really think he’ll wait for DC.
Look for it next Wednesday or Thursday, in DC, in the same building where Hil gave the 18m cracks speech…
That would be very fitting and a tone in complete accordance with our POTUS.
My heart goes out to Cassandra Butts, her family, colleagues and our POTUS. XOXO

None of it counts - Hillary is currently way up in NJ & MSNBC is talking about - and filming - Bernie in California - where voting is still ongoing.
And President Clinton will be inaugurated in January - despite the media - and Bernie fans.
No, sorry, NONE of the votes count, unless they are votes for Bernie!!1!!!!1!1 Don’t you get it???? 😀
That is 100% what is happening on MSNBC - they seem to be screaming about Bernie winning a caucus somewhere ???
Yes! Yes! He’s got the momentum!
