Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid’s (R-Nev.) communications director, Kristen Orthman, said in a statement soon after Perdue’s remarks, “If Republicans are still wondering why Donald Trump is their nominee, look no further than today’s Faith and Freedom conference where a sitting Republican Senator left the impression he was praying for the death of President Obama and then the Republican Leader followed him on stage and did not condemn him.”

Another example of the racists Republicans. These are the reason they have a disgusting racists nominee for President, the reason their base are racists bigots, because of people like this senator.

Where are McConnell, Ryan, and all the Republicans leaders, why didn’t they stand up and condemn that kind of talk? This is the kind of right wing, tea party, conservative so call christian crap we have been hearing for seven and a half years. But yet these people have the nerve to blame Obama for racial division.

Working today; I’ll have to catch up on these wonderful posts later.

So Cal TODer here. I also didn’t feel the earthquake. I was in bed but awake at 1 a.m. Didn’t feel a thing.

5.2 isn’t that big for us:-) The quake was centered in Palm Springs, so maybe that’s why I didn’t feel it.

    Thanks everyone for your concern:-)

      GA MS.

5.2 is equivalent to some of the larger aftershocks of the 1994 Northridge earthquake, so yeah, it’s no big deal.

Grew up in the San Diego area and did feel some earthquakes that happened back then in the general area of Anza-Borrego (epicenter of today’s earthquake).

Living on solid bedrock in Ventura county, haven’t felt any LA-area or east earthquakes, except of course for the 1994 Northridge quake (I worked a short block from the Northridge Fashion Mall where unfortunately an employee there was crushed by a collapsing parking structure😦 ). THAT one seemed to last forever, and I remember thinking at the time (thank God it’s 4:30am, it will be light soon — would have been far more terrified if it had happened during the early evening and had to have sat/paced around until daylight (all power, telephone [no cell phones then] and water service out).

Of course MSM would like Angelenos to panic about something that happens regularly here:

On that note, here’s something that is a BFD😉 :

TOD warriors. Sen. David Duke has referred to the scripture in Psalms 109:8asking that the days of POB be numbered. Please Twitter, Facebook and call his office at 202 224 3521 to voice your complaints. This man is an entitled POS from Georgia. A mean, hateful man. I talked to his office and they doubled down that what he said was not bad. Told them that the Psalm scripture has been used since 2008 to “pray for POB”. So mad I could spit him in the eye!

Next to VP Joe, HRC most likely is the person who could best follow PBO into the White House. But no matter how good of a president she turns out to be, there just is so very much about the Obama family I will miss. It has felt like a national treasure to watch these two incredible girls grow up and in some small way to share it. And both PBO and FLOTUS have just been so out there in so very many ways from their work with kids to things like the shows last night. It feels to me like there is going to be this huge hole where they once allowed so many of us to get joyful glimpses of them as people. Just don’t see the Clintons filling that gap. At the same time, they have lived in this fishbowl for so many years I suspect they will be thrilled to once again feel that they have some privacy. But in so many ways I will miss all of them.

ICYMI, largest paper in Iowa has called Grassley out on judicial nominations!

” “The president is only one-half of the process,” the Iowa senator said Monday, “and the Senate’s the other half. And we’re a check on the president.”

But what sort of a check would Sen. Grassley be as head of the Senate Judiciary Committee? Just how diligent would our senator be in reviewing the nominees chosen by a man who has categorized Mexican immigrants as rapists and who initially refused to disavow support from white supremacists?

Just a few weeks ago, Grassley expressed confidence that Trump would nominate the “right type of people” to the U.S. Supreme Court. And this week, Grassley didn’t seem at all perturbed by Trump’s remarks about Judge Curiel, which have been widely denounced and described even by House Speaker Paul Ryan as the “textbook definition of a racist comment.”

The best Grassley could muster was this: “I would not say what Trump said.”

As Edmund Burke said, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. And when it comes to Donald Trump, there are invertebrates that have shown more spine than Sen. Charles Grassley.”

    GE TODville.

Catching up on Twitter, and the first tweet I see is this:

“According to the probation report, the officer who evaluated the former Stanford swimmer wrote that ‘when compared to other crimes of similar nature’ the case ‘may be considered less serious due to [Turner’s] level of intoxication.'”

So this probation officer (no doubt male) thinks violent, forcible rape in public next to a dumpster is “less serious?” No woman in their right mind would submit such a report. Simply appalling.

This is exactly why our judicial system needs to be more representative of the constituency it serves; of course PBO is well-aware of this fact, and why he’s been inclusive when selecting judges, but obviously outreach to staff other justice positions such as probation officers is sorely needed.

Can you believe this country’s FIRST Native American judge was appointed only recently? And I saw a tweet a few days ago (unable to locate now) that said Trump doesn’t have to worry about being heard by a Muslim judge because there aren’t any. No idea if this is true or not, but shocking if true.

What a wonderful service that was for Ali. Tears flowed thru the whole thing. The only person I knew personally was Chief Oren Lyons. He was here in Missoula for a conference for 4 days. I spent most of those 4 days with him and took him to the airport. I encourage all of you to look up his bio. He is a very important chief. I feel so honored to have met him and able to spend time in his presence.

Now back to laundry and getting ready for next week.

Joan Walsh was on MSNBC saying she wondered if Bernie Sanders would show up with them, when the President and Hillary are in WI next Wednesday. Was thinking the same thing. (Hoping, actually.) That would blow the minds of the GOP.

    • 62 arapaho415
      June 10, 2025 at 8:25 pm

      GE JO’B.

Great idea, hadn’t thought of that possibility.

HRC and PBO’s staff members cannot have forgotten PUMAs, an embarrassment to the Dem party.

MSM has absolutely NOTHING political to report for at least month when the conventions take place. Between now and then all they have is blather and speculation, while PBO has visits to spectacular Carlsbad NM Caverns and Yosemite Park next week, a visit from TODville after the First Family returns on Sunday (know that he’s eagerly awaiting everyone😉 ), the 3 Amigos Summit in Ottawa (Jun 29), NATO conference in Warsaw Poland with a stop in Spain (Jul 8-9).

The Supreme Court adjourns at the end the end of this month, and Congress will barely be in town between now and Nov, so PBO will have lots of elbow room to do what he can possibly do without Congress while the GOP implodes.

      Looking forward to it all.
