da kenyan 18 mil voters in 2008 primaries despite 24×7 gop & msm attacks.

the old coot brought out just 12 mil in 2016 despite the media not laying a finger on him. as with everything about him, he brought millyions and millyions of new voters is total bs.

This Zika virus is so dangerous. Look at this poor child….Republicans chose not to fund anything to do Zika. Send this to them. Really, we need to take control of all 3 branches of our govt in this election. We can not afford Republicans playing games with our health and the health of innocent, yet to be born, babies.

Mini original baby boomer rant, nothing to do with wine drinking.

I’m around Hillary’s age, went through the women’s movement of the ’70s just like she did, and it just really hit me tonight how perfectly annoying it is that it’s 20freakin16 and we’ve still never had a woman President, in this country. And I’m still as young as springtime, and even my mother was born only one year after women got the freakin’ right to vote. I know we’re not alone in the oppression, but you’d better believe I’m voting for Hillary, whether or not I’d rather see a younger woman in there, because, technically, I decided in 2008 that my generation needed to turn it over to the next generation after acknowledging we had our turn and kinda mucked it up a bit, and after seeing what that generation (Barack Obama) could offer the world.

Vote, people! And, what the hell, vote for our first woman President!

    It’s 20freakin16! #Enough #NoMoreWaiting

And goodnight, you lovely TOD folks!

    I miss my Alabama politics…

In all honesty, I hope President Obama ends up pardoning former Gov. Don Siegelman, who was railroaded by Karl Rove & Bush Co.

    • 65 lovelyplains
      June 11, 2025 at 12:16 am

Speaking of Karl Rove, I remember when Crossroads ran millions of dollars of ads against (a little known outside of CA) Kamala Harris when she was trying to become A.G. and two weeks after the election she was finally declared the winner…..

2.5 million votes still left to count….smh

I think there some political money laundering going on too that may have involved the Kochs. Kamela went after them and won.

          June 11, 2025 at 12:58 am

They spent more money to try to beat her before she became A.G. than some Senate races that year….one thing I’ll give them credit for is at least they know who to target on the Dem side when it comes to a developing a bench…at the time they were scared PBO would eventually nominate her to SCOTUS…I also gained interest in her at the time because she is half Indian.

Yes, her father is Jamaican-American and her mother is from Tamil. I know her since she was DA in SF for years.

I can see her getting sick of the Senate and either running for President or HRC nominating her the bench….I think she has higher aspirations considering I’m sure she was PBO’s #1 choice before she took herself out of consideration.

Did she speak about this tonight? I watched the beginning and it was all nonsense about selecting a VP - I really think the management is now deciding Rachel’s topics.

There isn’t a single program I can watch that airs during the week. Used to like Steve Kornacki’s weekend show, but he got a big head after becoming Chuck Todd’s MTP pinch-hitter….at least they gave Joy Reid a show again after screwing her over the first time (haven’t had a chance to watch it though)

            • 75 99ts
              June 11, 2025 at 12:59 am

MSNBC is the only US channel I can access on this side of the world - Kornacki rose to power with Bridgegate but didn’t ever seem to have much else going for him.
Watching all of them in 2008 - they have lost the plot big time - I do believe it relates to who owns the media.

Do you use chrome? If you do use Chrome TV https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tv-for-google-chrome/licccgnfdlgmmmgaddmbcepikfadcmpe?hl=en …if you can’t find channels that you like there download this Chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/unlimited-free-vpn-hola/gkojfkhlekighikafcpjkiklfbnlmeio?hl=en and you can hide you IP address and watch any U.S. channel through their website (as long as you don’t need to login with your Cable provider) ….I watch ABC from your neck of the woods (Rake is one of my favorite shows) and BBC (using a British IP) I get to see all the good series before they make it to PBS here in the states😎

                  June 11, 2025 at 2:53 am

:) Many of the UK series I like turn up on youtube. Have to watch them quick cause sometimes they are taken down. I don’t use Chrome but I’ll ask Mr 99 about your links - thanks

Also - we don’t use cable - not so common in Oz - we use the free to air channels - Fox is our main cable provider & I don’t give them my money! Our internet is reasonable & we have netflix. They seem to be smart about working out where we live regardless of hiding the IP.

                    June 11, 2025 at 2:02 pm

Netflix smartened up last year because people would use their US accounts while overseas/traveling and built in some algorithms to recognize actual IP addresses….but the normal U.S. networks don’t do that. Typically if you want to watch a show on the network site there are built in commercials so they don’t care who streams in my opinion. Get Mr 99 to add chrome & extensions and see if you have some better luck:)

My husband just told me we have a Vista system and he doesn’t think chrome is compatible. We don’t use cable at all. We have sling and Roku, Netflix. But would like to watch MSNBC ever now and then.

Safari is the built in browser for iPad, iPhone, etc. you add Chrome app (I do just for the search function) but he chrome extensions I linked (Hola-hiding VPN) don’t work that great on iPads. I would add chrome to your desktop/laptop…I plug in my laptop with HDMI cable to my tv just for streaming purposes (add those two extensions) & keep Mozilla for everything else. You shouldn’t have any problems with Droid either. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/apps

99ts, there are so many guns in the hands of so many people, it’s like putting a genie back in a bottle. Gun fetishists are winning every battle because of the NRA and GOP in Congress. It’s sickening.

                  June 11, 2025 at 1:05 am

From some place else - it is impossible to imagine - but it does make one appreciate the value of the gun laws we have. The one thing I really NEVER worry about is someone I love (or self) being shot. Of course it does happen - but rarely (if ever) “random” events.

                  • 91 meta
                    June 11, 2025 at 1:11 am

When there is so much random violence in what once was thought of as safe places, it’s a living nightmare for most people in this country. No place is out of bounds: school, church, shopping, home, movies, concerts the street. You’re not safe anywhere. It’s grotesque.

Hugs meta - it has to be ignored - as with “terrorism” - else we have given in. Wish I had a solution for the guns - think we destroyed many of ours - 1990s - but we had many fewer than the US. Could perhaps be done on a state basis.
