Morning all. Yes, it’s very cool-thank you for posting it, Nerdy. I thought I saw Malia sitting next to Meryl Streep at the dinner in Morocco. It’s so thrilling to see all the incredible experiences Obama girls are enjoying.
Is there an e-mail address for Chips?

The girls present such a wonderful picture to the world. The should be so proud of themselves & their parents must be over the moon with delight in their family. Being a teenager is difficult - being in their situation is asking them to be so much more than we would expect of most of our children.

(I have no idea about the email other than the TOD one)

Bringing this link over from TPV. Nate Silver on GMA gives HRC a 79 percent chance of winning the election versus Trump’s 20 percent with states like Arizona and Missouri being in play. I wish he had been asked about the Senate races because we absolutely must take that back.

I’m as yet not impressed with the efforts of Tammy Duckworth to defeat Mark Kirk here in IL. Her emails are pretty tepid.

Kirk did as predicted: took the few sane votes & statements he’s made recently, strung them together as if he’s an effing Dem or an “independent” GOP (which he is not). He also showed himself all wired up in paraphrenalia from his stroke, making it look as if he had sustained more injuries than Duckworth had.

I expected more from her campaign. She needs to step it up.

Our car was totaled a few weeks ago, the veterinary bills at our house have been astronomical. I’m not able to donate as I would like to either HRC or Duckworth, but I’ll do my best.

Looking forward to PBO in Ottawa today.

For west coasters like myself, trilateral press conference at noon today, PBO at Canadian Parliament at 2:25pm.

Hard to understate how much chaos is going on in Europe now, thank goodness for Barack Obama and Justin Trudeau (given the horrific violence in Mexico, not sure how much Enrique Nieto is an alliance force, but thankfully he is supportive of US and Canada).

After years of congressional investigations, do you feel that your brother’s death has been politicized in Washington?

Yes! Definitely politicized. Every report I read that mentions him specifically has a political bent, an accusatory bent. One point that seems to be brought up again and again is the accusation that the attack was a response to the video. I could understand why that conclusion would be made, because it was right after the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Egypt. But, frankly, it doesn’t matter that that was the thinking, that night, about why the attack occurred. It’s irrelevant to bring that up again and again. It is done purely for political reasons.

It would be much more useful for Congress to focus on providing resources for security for all State Department facilities around the world—for increasing personnel, language capabilities, for increasing staff to build relationships, particularly in North Africa and the Middle East. I would love to hear they are drastically increasing the budget.

The media should follow every display of Trumpian “presidential” fakery with public-service reminders that this is a man who ruled a federal judge professionally disqualified from a case because of his ethnicity; a man who self-swooned over the Orlando massacre; a man who has ridiculed the disabled and demeaned women and has characterized minorities as criminals, though some of them are personal pets; a man who has proposed banning a world religion from legal immigration; a man who has embraced war crimes as a valid instrument in battling the tactic of terrorism; a man, lest we forget, who spearheaded birtherism.

Palin was pronounced a genius when she managed to put 2 sentences into the right order of subject verb object. Trump is treated the same way. He is so bad at what he does when he manages to read sentences from a tele prompter without making a major error the US political media deems him brilliant.

Democrats - the best speakers/policies in the world but the media looks for 2 words that are mispronounced. The current media will lead the US into the mess that is currently the UK. Unbelievable.

DT’s supporters going to Cleveland to support. America, are you woke?

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/06/29/violent-pro-trump-neo-nazis-to-crash-gop-convention.html

The neo-Nazis who organized the pro-Donald Trump rally in Sacramento, California, that turned bloody over the weekend have a new destination: The Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
“We’re essentially just going to show up and make sure that the Donald Trump supporters are defended from the leftist thugs,” Matt Parrott, spokesman for the white-nationalist Traditionalist Worker Party, told McClatchy, claiming that roughly 30 members of the party would head to Ohio in July.
The Traditionalist Worker Party is yet another white-nationalist group of “race realists” that has wormed its way into relevance through the ascendancy of Trumpism. The party—which fights for a lily-white America “free from economic exploitation, federal tyranny, and anti-Christian degeneracy”—is led by its chairman Matthew Heimbach, who gained national media attention in 2013 as the 22-year-old founder of the Towson White Student Union. In 2014, the Southern Poverty Law Center dubbed him the “Little Führer” who had “plunged into full-fledged neo-Nazism.”

The fact that SCOTUS & all Federal courts will make America look like a third world country doesn’t matter to BS & the other looney leftists who believe this claptrap. Wow! What a trio.
Can’t wait to visit Canada this September. vc, wish I would be close to you, but my trip goes to Nova Scotia and PEI, two provinces I’ve never visited. Tremendously excited. Yes, we will visit the Anne of Green Gables town, but also Alexander Graham Bell’s home, Halifax, Bay of Fundy, and other places, Cape Breton…..I’ll give you all a full report when I return. Going with a group…..couldn’t do this on my own.

Steve and his family come Saturday…..(my son), his wife and the GRANDKIDS!!!! So looking forward to their visit. My son grew up with Bethany Fourth of July, and always wants to come back for it. I treasure this.

Hi Carolyn, you’ll enjoy your trip, I’m sure. Family friends and I did a driving vacation ‘out east’ a few summers ago for the first time - the scenery was truly beautiful. We visited all the places you mentioned (except Cape Breton), and we visited the Black History Museum (where - because we expressed an interest - one of the younger attendants took us on an actual tour of his own neighbourhood - which had been in existence for generations). We were educated not only on Black Canadian History, but some American as well. In addition we were invited to the local church for a Sunday service and we went back to that. My memory of the church experience was that it felt quite familiar. 😀

Happy for you that the family will be with you for 4th of July. Have a wonderful time together!

ps: You can always come back; this time to the ‘centre’ of the country. 😀 😀
