GE TODville and Dr. Bob — congrats on #1!

Hope everyone in the NW stays safe and dry this weekend — heard on the radio a few minutes ago that there was a tornado in Manzanita Oregon today. And forecast is for powerful Pacific storm this weekend — so, so, hoping for some rain soon in SoCal — I really can’t remember the last time it really rained here (think it was once this winter, and before that a freak downpour in July 2015).

Since MSM likes soundbites so much, this is how they should be describing what was uncovered today in Kansas.

Oh! Thank you for the reminder: FULL MOON at 23.14 degrees Aries, opposition takes place at 0:23am ET on Sunday 16 Oct 2016. 9:23pm PT, on Saturday 15 Oct 2016. For those of you who can see the moon! We may miss this one, but thank you to Arapaho for your guardian vigilance - big winds, awesome rain, seems to me like a typical PNW system, tho I gather the big part is due through tomorrow. I, for one, seem to be able to sleep a few hours solid when I hear the music of that rain on the windowpane! 🌩💦💧☔️💧💦🌩

The White Oak Amphitheatre, which President Obama packed to excess of its 7,700 person limit Tuesday night, leaving another 1,500 supporters stranded outside, wasn’t even half full on Friday. A listless crowd occasionally chanted “Trump, Trump, Trump,” but it never got momentum.

I just did my civic duty and Early Voted. From beginning to end, took me 10 minutes.
Chicago folks, if you are downtown, you can Early Vote at 15 W. Washington. (The old Walgreens). They have plenty of voting machines. Open 7 days a week. From now until October 24th-Monday through Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.
    Saturday, 9 am - 5 pm. Sunday, 10 am - 4 pm.
    Not registered?
Doesn’t matter. You can do Grace period registration, where you register and vote at the same time. All you need is two pieces of ID, which can range from a US Passport to mail addressed to you in the last 30 days.
    GOTV!!!

Beginning October 24th, that is when the city will have 51 sites. One in each Ward, and downtown.

If you have any questions about voting, for Chicago or Suburban Cook County, the offices are now open 7 days a week. Just call if you need information about voting.

    From Alabama:

Endorsement: We’re with Hillary Clinton. Frankly, Donald Trump’s dangerous.

Donald Trump must not be president.

Alabama has voted for every Republican candidate since Ronald Reagan, a man that captured our imagination with a hopeful view
of America as a shining city upon a hill.

Nearly 40 years later, Donald Trump offers a deeply cynical view of an America in ruin, an America that seems to exist only in his own dangerous mind.

Even before the revelation of video evidence of Trump making lewd, demeaning comments advocating sexual advances on women against their will, we knew that he was unfit to lead this country. We unite with people across this nation —people of all parties, including an increasing number of Republicans — to reject the pessimism of his candidacy.

Following the national party realignment of the mid-20th century, anger and distrust of the Democratic Party runs as deep in Alabama as anywhere in the country. And while more than 300,000 people supported her in the state primary, distrust of Hillary Clinton runs even deeper for many.

But 2016 isn’t a normal election cycle, and Donald Trump isn’t a normal presidential candidate. Nor is he a normal Republican. He is a man who is frighteningly unfit to be president. And she is his only roadblock.

I live in the read world. I know that our President can only be our President for 3 more months. I know that in 3 weeks we’ll be calling Hillary Cinton President Elect. But this Ad has me crying like a baby…
I know that for the rest of my life, PBO cannot live in the White House. But I also know, he will be my President FOR LIFE.
He and his family have been a gift and a blessing. I take consolation is knowing that he will live out his days in service to us.
I look forward to watching his beautiful daughters grow and achieve.
I know that there is nothing that Michelle can’t do, and can’t wait to see what she chooses.
And I’m anxious to read the President’s book (s) that I’m sure he’s been writing for the last 8 years.
I grieve for our loss in the day to day of knowing that PBO has our backs, but I celebrate the Obama family’s future.

Have a nice Saturday TOD ‘ville.
      Go Vote!

Too bad Trump hasn’t mentioned to his fools that the intimidation moves they’re planning to use at the polls are all ILLEGAL. Not legal in any way.

      • 84 swbluega
        October 15, 2025 at 9:38 am

Why would Trump talk about the illegality of *anything* when he himself has — so far — gotten away with everything with little to no significant consequences. To him, “illegal” amounts to those actions that can’t dismissed with a loophole, a scapegoat, or an alibi.

Yep, and I thought the figure was 750 million. I’m not even sure if Vegas has the fan base to support a football team year in and year out. I’m just glad that Vegas fixed all of its other problems and had millions of dollars laying around to build a football stadium.
