Good Afternoon, Nerdy…TOD Family!
Sharp stepping, SW! 🙂 Here’s hoping you get your ‘blue Georgia’ wish.
Fingers crossed.
{{SW}} Crossing mine along with you
{{{VC}}} 🙂
Yay Dekalb!
Congrats, swbluega! Sneaking in to say hi before my 2 Monday phone banks.
Thanks, Judith and thanks for all that you do.
One of the few Republican strategists I can stomach…
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/supreme-court-trump-poll-watching_us_58208311e4b0d9ce6fbd192b
The one-page order didn’t include any reasoning or identify the justices who voted down the request. But the court is often reluctant to intervene so close to an election. The justices traditionally want to avoid confusing voters or poll workers ― a concern particularly relevant in the many states, like Ohio, where people have already voted early.
In an unusual statement, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg noted that she was one of the justices who voted against the request and pointed out that Ohio law has provisions to prohibit voter intimidation and harassment.
Lawyers for the Ohio Democratic Party filed the request with the Supreme Court late Sunday night, after the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit sided with the Trump campaign and put on hold a broad set of prohibitions that essentially would have shut down any attempts by Trump allies to monitor polling places.
Woooooot! ðŸ‘ðŸ¾ðŸ‘ðŸ¾ðŸ‘ðŸ¾ðŸ˜„💃ðŸ¾
Uh-huh, uh-huh!
County spokesman Joe Sorenson said Monday that a total of 166,167 votes had already been counted in Gwinnett, a number that blows its previous advance voting record of 88,978 (set in 2008) out of the water. This year’s record-breaking number includes advanced in-person ballots (150,367), absentee ballots (15,365) and electronic ballots sent to military members overseas (435).
This is phenomenal Dudette!!
I know, right?!!
Hi DD. I’m getting out my dancing shoes so that you, D-ette and I can dance wildly under DT’s nose. 😀
Oops! On 2nd thought, I don’t want to be anywhere near that bigot!
LOl! We can just dance wherever we are! It’ll be glorious!
^5 “Deal!” 😀
🙌ðŸ¾
Wow. This is great, Dudette.
My, if we get Georgia, that would fantastic.
I’ll be doing the Hillary shinmy all night long.
Me, too. I used to live in Georgia, before moving to Florida in 2005.
Oh yeah!
… but you, Sir, are in his party!
Hahahahahaha! Too late, buddy!
May I add, vile, vain, and vulgar?
Yes you may!
Thanks, Dudette!
Hi all. Last night’s ‘Salsa the Vote’ was an amazing event, although I got so exhausted I ended up sick in the middle of the night. Trying to get back on my feet today for the final push. The turnout was bigger than we planned as people from other counties showed up to see what we were doing (many are already copying our summer event) and to see Cisneros. We ended up running out of food and had to send out for pizzas.
The crowd was energized, wanting all the information we had on candidates and eager to practice on our trial voting booth-the energy, to be honest, largely ‘anti-Trump, rather than pro-HRC. All I can say about Henry Cisneros is that he is a force of nature! He delivered a speech in English that stressed his long time admiration and respect for Hillary Clinton and described her life-long devotion to helping children and families. But when he switched to Spanish he was electric. From what I could glean, he was telling Latinos that this is our country and no one tells us to leave it and these are our families and no one gets to insult them. He said the fate of the election rested on the Latino vote and what they did on Tuesday would deliver the state to HRC and send a loud message to DT. People cheered and clapped and got swept away by his words and his presence. And let me tell TOD women of a certain age that although Henry Cisneros is over 70, he is one very fine looking man. He is tall, broad-shouldered, slim and has that PBO swagger. His very presence upped everyone’s game. Local candidates I have heard zillions of times, seemed to shine more in his wake and deliver their best remarks. People were taking photos and I will try to post later, with a little help.
Oh and Madeleine Albright visited our local Dem HQ office earlier in the day. Had to miss it, but she was featured on the front page of our county paper. She said that HRC was one of the most consequential Sects. of State in history and would be the most prepared president ever and that DT didn’t know what he was talking about when it came to world affairs. I don’t think our little county has had so much celebrity attention since JFK passed through here in 1960. What a day!!!
Wonderful report! Thank you for all you and the many volunteers are doing for our country.
Thanks so much for the report, JG. I can feel the energy and excitement as if I had been present. Take care of yourself and get a more than well-deserved rest beginning Wednesday. I am so impressed by your tenacity, creativity, hard work and love. You are the force of nature. So grateful for all that you and your group have done.
Wow! So proud of all the great work you’re doing, JG! Way to go! ðŸ‘ðŸ¾
CON-GRA-TU-LA-TIONS to you and your colleagues, JackieG!!! I remember back to the start of your group’s efforts to GOTV & certainly hope tomorrow night you all will be able to dance in victory through your fatigue.
Get well and â¤ï¸HUGSâ¤ï¸ for the amazing group you helped build.
Thank you for the report Jackie! So thrilled that it went so well, and you got such a huge turnout, even if it meant running out of food:-) Can’t wait to see the photos. And it’s great that you had a sample voting booth there. It can be intimidating for first time voters. I had two young women in line in front of me when I voted who were nervous about their first time and the machines. Just told them what to look for before they hit that final button and it seemed to reassure them.
Sure hope you feel better soon. We are not as young as we used to be! And can’t wait to see the photos!
JG, thank you so much for your work and this report.
wow Jackie what a great event you had!! Now take of yourself and get some rest. Have something to eat. Ok I’m done being a mother hen 😀 w00t!
What an inspiration Gabby Gifford is!
LOL.
Pathetic Birther
These reporters are going to need therapy after this shit show is over. Hell, most of the country will need it.
I swear. The man has traumatized the whole country. I have friends and family calling me to reassure them that he is not going to win.
He is evil.
Make that “the whole world…”
I have two friends that have panic attacks every time the FBI issues a statement regarding e-mails. I had to reassure that all will be alright and that I wanted to trust the American people for doing what’s right tomorrow. Preemptively.
Wrong Tweet. There was one where he was calling Trump out for lying about his numbers.
My Windows Explorer just stopped working. I can’t believe that’s possible! /: /: I am currently using Firefox. I really do not like technology, and am convinced it doesn’t like me either!
O-kay, so it was my Google Chrome that died, not WE. SMH, maybe *one* day I’ll get terms an functions correct! Anyway, after shutting down an giving my laptop a rest it seems to be working now. Just as long as it doesn’t cop out in the middle of the big rally tonight, I’ll be happy.
Hello everyone out there.
I really can´t wait for this thing to be over. Timing is terrible of course because of the time difference, but what would be a good time to start watching the forecasts? 9 Eastern? Another time?
Hi Nil. I would start watching at 8 EST
Usually the networks don’t call it until the polls close on the West Coast so that is 11:00 pm EST. There have been some rumblings as to whether that will hold this year with TargetSmart and some of the other technological companies out there but that remains a pretty safe bet.
Well that would be 5 pm for me but I want to see stuff leading up to it. I remember in 2012 I think I got up around 2 am my time (8 eastern) and the race was called around shortly past five when Ohio was called.
GE/GM niliathiel.
Be sure to tune in before these times:
IIRC correctly, some east coast polls close at 7 pm Eastern Time, and that’s when the nail biting begins.
I’ll look for tweets on poll closing times, and if successful, will post here later. Check back at your convenience.
DonnaDem is absolutely correct — the election won’t be called until west coast (sorry AK and HI) polls close at 11 pm Eastern Time. Since it’ll be a blow out, all networks will call the election for HRC at 11:00:01 EST.
Looking forward to election night with TODville. Since I don’t have cable, my info will come strictly from the Internet.
Knew I had seen this somewhere recently. This will let you determine when you want to start watching:-)
I’m going to tune in at 3pm Pacific, just as the polls close on the East Coast.
If things go really, really well, this may be called sometime after 8pm. But who knows? It may take a while if it’s close in the swing states…..
Thanks everyone. 🙂 Since I will have to leave for school as in work at around 8 am my time (which is 2 am Eastern) I should definitely be able to get results before that then.
FirefoxTX posted a great map, will refer to it tomorrow.

SOON: Pres. Obama Campaigns for Hillary Clinton in Durham, NH - http://abcnews.go.com/live?stream=2
Update
A song forever engraved in my heart.
back to work …
#ALL50
Tell him, Bob. Thanks!
Can’t wait. Every time I refresh C-Span or ABCnews.com, the head and hands of The Donald are plastered on my screen. I almost want to believe that this guy has a zombie.
Here are five key factors in Georgia’s race to watch:
1) Will Republicans rally around Trump’s flag?
The #NeverTrump movement hasn’t fizzled out, but it appears to have waned as the election nears and even some of Trump’s most outspoken GOP skeptics are circling the wagons. Public polls show a vast majority of Georgia Republicans, about 80 percent to 90 percent, are now siding with the nominee.
2) Red, blue and purple strongholds:
To have any chance of flipping Georgia, Democrats need a huge turnout in vote-rich Chatham, Clayton, Fulton and Muscogee counties. But no county is as important to the party as DeKalb, a majority-black county that is the party’s beating heart in Georgia.
A record number of DeKalb residents have registered to vote this election — nearly 520,000 — and a record 193,000-plus have already cast ballots.
3) A gaping gender gap
Trump has built his lead in Georgia polls thanks to a hefty advantage among men. But the New York businessman trailed Clinton among women 48 percent to 37 percent in the final Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll, which mirrored other more recent surveys showing a sizable divide.
Women outnumber men as registered voters in Georgia and hold an advantage over men in each of the state’s 159 counties.
4) A racial split
The bigger question is the level of black turnout. Early voting data show that African-American voters did not cast ballots at the same pace they did in 2012
Republicans say they’re in for a good night if overall turnout from black voters falls beneath 30 percent. Democrats say they’re seeing a late burst of enthusiasm from African-American Democrats, particularly in densely populated urban areas.
5) First-time voters
Then there’s the chance that the polls here and elsewhere are all hopelessly wrong, thanks to a tide of newcomers and first-time voters who didn’t show up on any calling lists and are hard to account for in polling models.
…a surge of Latino voters casting ballots for the first time could give Clinton’s campaign a boost. Hispanics make up only about 2 percent of Georgia’s electorate, but historic turnout in a tight race could make it too close for comfort for Republicans
This is for you, Dudette, in celebration of your good news up top!
TOD — HONEY, I’M HOME!
So glad to be out of the hospital; tonight, after two weeks, I’ll sleep in my own bed.
About to shower and nap. Will read you later. Thanks for all of the prayers…
Stay strong, Jazziz!
😻
Terrific news!! So happy you’re home -nothing in the world like your own bed.
Yippee! Your own bed. Nothing like it. ðŸ˜ðŸ‘ðŸ‘💕
Recharge, Alycee! Get a good night’s rest because TOMORROW is about to get LIT!!!!
Great news. Take good care, friend.
Great news, ‘honey’! Rest well and pace yourself. Blessings
Yay jazziz2!! Enjoy your bed and take it easy these next many days until you are fully recovered! So glad to hear the good news.
I am. Nothing but voting tomorrow. Wednesday, I’m going to do a couple of certifications for properties selling at the end of the week; and a letter to my two taxing authorities informing them that reports will be a week late. I’ll go back to work on Monday.
When Hillary Clinton wins tomorrow the world should be suing the GOP and their orange nominee for 18 months of non stop stress.
Ha! I will send the GOP my medical bill.
I might sue Morning Joke and Mark Halperin - then again Trump will probably be suing everyone.
POTUS is doing the Fired Up story! Love it!! â¤ï¸
Oh, yes. What a day!
OMG, I so love that story. Will never get tired of hearing it.
It was the perfect way to end his final solo appearance for this campaign. The memories…….
He just makes me laugh! No subtlety here.
Aloha TOD friends. Am I the only one feeling a bit conflicted today? Yes, I’ll be glad for this exhausting election to conclude tomorrow, and yes, I’m grateful for all these opportunities to see our President in live broadcasts, making me proud every day. And yes, I’m very glad HRC seems to be ahead and we’ll be saved from the orange monster. But….. after tomorrow, PBO will be in a new stage of his presidency, which I’m not sure I’m glad about. I love knowing he’s in charge, he’s handling everything beautifully; and he’ll still be president, yes. But there is a shift coming, and it feels like something precious is slipping away.
Like most of you, I’ll be working for the election tomorrow, and won’t be back online till it’s over. So I want to say now, with a very full heart, what a pleasure and a blessing it has been to convene with all of you here over the past 8 years. This place, this time, will always be a light in my life. Mahalo nui loa~
Aloha, Susanne, it has indeed been a blessing to gather here in the TOD village and have you be a part of my online family! Wishing you a very upbeat and fulfilling day tomorrow. #FORWARD
A lei of aloha for you, vc â¤
/huge-huge smile on this end/ Thanks!
Bittersweet, President Obama leaving office but Hillary getting elected is a great thing. I’m truly happy for her. She earned it, like President Obama, she wasn’t given anything. They both had a scratch and fight their entire lives. God bless them both.
New post.
