Hi there, gurl chile! I saw where you and the western ladies were in celebration mode earlier. Good for you all!
Doesn’t this gathering to see our PBO being acknowledged feel like a happy familiar, family gathering? I actually miss the WH.Gov link though, as it was always the one I preferred to use.
Hello, Miss S, I’m as fine as fine can be! After not seeing Offspring since Christmas, he dropped in for a day (seeming fine too) then took off for a month to Montreal. These days, I almost have to make an appointment to get a little of the “lad’s” attention.
.@stefcutter on how President Obama demonstrated political courage. Watch his speech tonight at 8:30pm EDT: https://t.co/VpVC0OpXYa pic.twitter.com/l1zOVYtUmm
I know I’m gonna cry because President John F Kennedy’s ONLY grandson, JOhn Kennedy Schlossberg is going to present the Profile in Courage Award to the first African American president, president Barack Obama. I’m beside myself with emotion and love.
Scores of people gathered Sunday in Boston as they waited for Barack Obama to arrive, waving signs of appreciation. https://t.co/Uop7kiULIT pic.twitter.com/wgdl9TTrz1
Me, too, honey bunch. And I love how in that tweet, all that was needed to be said was “Scores of people gathered,” because the Obama crowd has filled whole cities and parks with people who have come out to see him over the years … no sense countin’ them one by one. â¤
"What a great relief to be in the presence of the Obamas again" says James Taylor. Watch #ProfileInCourage ceremony: https://t.co/iXPErAkh9n pic.twitter.com/AjMgWpZ3gv
I don’t even care if this was posted already, I’m posting it again. Ha.
Looking dapper in a tux and a bow tie, @BarackObama is in #Boston to accept the Profile in Courage award https://t.co/iXPErAkh9n pic.twitter.com/lYfe3UUHfR
My Mommy would be turning 100 a month from today - she’s was always so proud to have her b’day near to JFK’s! Stroppy littleIrish lass from Jersey City 🌃 â¤ï¸
Don’t know what you’re talkin’ about, JO’B. 😉
Congrats to @BarackObama for receiving #ProfileInCourage Award @JFKLibrary you showed what political courage should be #JFK100 #manofhonor pic.twitter.com/OyARMfd63H
Sigh. We are so blessed that we saw, we heard, we knew, and are smart enough to walk beside him. God Bless Michelle Obama, a truly wonderful, beautiful, and compassionate woman. These are the best among us.
Our 44ever president delivers again; he is an international treasure. He went there in his usual manner. Rethug heads will be exploding, the talking heads giving their useless opinions, and the First Clown will be fuming and tweeting.
And as usual, he did not make it about him, it is all about us and others who have shown courage in our daily lives. As usual, he talked about the sacrifices others made in choosing to do the right thing even when they could lose their positions and cited those who voted for the ACA and were voted out of office. He also reminded us that progress only happens through our actions, the arc of the moral universe bends because we exert energy to make it happen and that progress is fragile. In our fight for justice and equality, we will often lose, but we must fight on. These and other things he said will strengthen us as we fight for our republic. I hope that there will be a transcript of his speech available for downloading later.
t was so good to see our family again.
CEB, you said exactly what I was about to write. He did not make the speech about him.Rather, he acknowledged
all the people who sacrificed their jobs and careers. I need not go on because you expressed it so well. Thanks.
I loved his PiC speech because it defined the standard we should use in evaluating a person running for office - low or high. They must have the heart and courage of a PUBLIC SERVANT.
they treat everything like it is a tennis match…what is the point of having GOP pundits to question the validity and integrity of Pres Obama’s speech…
I agree, they treat our lives like a game. That is the first time since November I had listened to MSNBC. It’ll be the last till Obama speaks again. I can’t handle these pundits anymore.
Did you listen to our President tonight? That’s still my President, and our First Lady, she look lovely as always. I miss them being in the White House, what’s in their now can not compare.
If he was anyone else- he easily could have spoken about his accomplishments… his courage, even under the guise of just speaking of the obstacles he and his admin overcame. And yet.. he is President Barack Obama- and thus gave us more lessons in our own courage and the courage of others.. how we control the destiny of America. How we have to work at it… all said with such wisdom.. and courage… and the knowing that we have what it takes. And to remind us of JFK and his aspirations for America, his belief that we had imperfections that we could and must fix to be a better society.
We’ve taken steps backward, we all know it… but tonight I feel like if we continue to be active, there is hope. Thank you President Obama. You always clarify so very much for us.
🙂 he brings out the best in us, imo. I know that I always, always feel better for listening to him, for hearing him- I feel more directed… and always inspired to be a better person, but also to see others as better people.
FUN FACT: This is the first time in history that the President of France🇫🇷 will speak better English than the President of America.🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/SMw4PGDyPs
This is what a strong selfless leader looks like. I want him back. The world needs him back.#ProfileInCourageAward #ThankYouObama ⤠pic.twitter.com/4ZGSsEa4ZV
Lord, this man, this man. How I miss him, but his speech said it all: “progress is fragile.” It is up to us, now. How did we ever replace a gift like this with the mess we now have🤒? I am feeling all kinds of things right now, starting with a great lump in my throat.
It was so wonderful to see and hear him speak again! He said what so many of us have been thinking and saying, and he says it so gracefully and eloquently. I just want him to be president of the world………I love John Favreau’s tweet…….”angry and sad” yes. But so good to know he is not hiding away…….he is with us.
Just watching President Obama embody so much class, dignity, wit & wisdom reminds me of what we had & what we've lost. #ProfileInCourage pic.twitter.com/7732yLgW1I
First of all, our Forever FLOTUS looked STUNNING!!! That hair! That dress! Her look for this event may be one of my all-time favorites!
President Obama looked gorgeous too, and I soaked up every word of his speech. He is not playing. He wants us to know this is serious, in case we (or the press who will be reporting on this) get too caught up in horse-race bullshit and the circus of ineptitude, corruption and cruelty that is the current administration and congress. I couldn’t help notice Mrs. Obama’s face when he was speaking; she is worried like we all are. Like PBO, I have faith that we can get through this, but I am glad he did not end on a light note. I am glad he spoke with the firmness and seriousness that the present state of our union and the world requires. If Macron had lost, I would have been despondent, but I feel hope now, especially after watching and hearing Forever POTUS.
I missed the beginning; came in during “Fire and Rain” so I will go back and catch the opening and Stefanie Cutter’s remarks on the JFK Library YouTube channel later.
Love to all my TODers; thanks to Nerdy and Happy BDay (belated?) to Tally!
Hearing of the French election results, watching that ceremony and hearing from our FPOTUS and seeing all of those like-minded people of influence helped me to remember that we are not alone. As PBO reminded us, we cannot sleep, but I think we will ultimately be o.k.
Sen Warren who once again questioned the integrity of Pres Obama attended the JFK Profiles in Courage award ceremony for Pres Obama …the hypocrisy of it all is stunning
I posted on Facebook that I feel like I can breathe again even if just for these few minutes. All of you have expressed perfectly what I feel. Thanks to everyone. NW, bless you for keeping the doors open!
Oh, have to add this: Hillary Clinton retweeted one of my tweets. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 #SallyYatesIsAPatriot.

Only 6 months ago this was the message the U S sent. The worst of the worst are now in position to destroy everything that makes life meaningful. We are becoming a 3rd rate nation even faster than I originally thought.
An award soooooooooo deserved!!!!
Thanks Nerdy for posting the livestream! Will tune in at 8:30. 🙂
Congrats swbluega on #1!
Hello there, Ms Hf2! I’ll be tuning in with you at 8:30 as I only wish to hear the actual ceremony and not the rambling pundit/s.
Brava vc! 🙂 🙂
Great to have you with us vc 🙂

Doesn’t this gathering to see our PBO being acknowledged feel like a happy familiar, family gathering? I actually miss the WH.Gov link though, as it was always the one I preferred to use.
It’s comforting to be able to gather together with family to watch our favorite American President. So happy you’re here {{{hugs}}}
Yes, we had a good time celebrating Tally’s birthday and then we had a celebratory bottle of the bubbly when I read that Macron won!
{{{GxG}}}
& a global { } to Macron too. May he lead with courage and wisdom, remembering that he’s leading all of his citizens.
This is our prayer too.
hey VCCCCCCCCCCCC…wavin….how are you and your son are doing good
Hello, Miss S, I’m as fine as fine can be! After not seeing Offspring since Christmas, he dropped in for a day (seeming fine too) then took off for a month to Montreal. These days, I almost have to make an appointment to get a little of the “lad’s” attention.
ohhh nooooo….then make that appointment
Hello there vc. Happy you are here with us.
Happy to be here, Jackie! In ‘such a time as this’ as we are living in in North America, this is just the *perfect* opportunity for us to gather.
Yes it is. We are family.
{{{JackieB}}}
I am feeling some kind of way right now. I am tearful and he has not even been seen yet.
Same…
Same…
me too….i feel very weepy…but happy

I like President Obama wearing the bow tie.
It’s alittle different then the tie or no tie.
W/MP~W, checking in .. Will watch the presentation on iPad, follow thread on iPhone. Sigh. I so love technology (when it works)! â¤ï¸ðŸ™ðŸ¼
Me too MP. Watching on laptop, commenting on iphone 😀

Can’t wait to see it.
I know I’m gonna cry because President John F Kennedy’s ONLY grandson, JOhn Kennedy Schlossberg is going to present the Profile in Courage Award to the first African American president, president Barack Obama. I’m beside myself with emotion and love.
This outward show of affection for PBO must really make the impostor mad and ill. And this knowledge makes me happy 😀
Me, too, honey bunch. And I love how in that tweet, all that was needed to be said was “Scores of people gathered,” because the Obama crowd has filled whole cities and parks with people who have come out to see him over the years … no sense countin’ them one by one. â¤
Love this outpouring of love and appreciation for our Forever Prez44.
Is it late to start?
Exciting!
Thank you, NerdyW., thank you John F. Kennedy Profile In Courage Award, for livestreaming, which is starting now. 😀
I love James Taylor not only for his music but for his loyalty to President Obama.
Indeed Jackie.
I don’t even care if this was posted already, I’m posting it again. Ha.

I love James Taylor’s voice
I love listening to James Taylor and then here ou great President Obama speak. I watched Southside with You again this afternoon. So inspirational.
Me too. His voice is comforting.
I’m here to watch our PBO receive his award. I’m going to try not to cry.
You aren’t the only one. I have Kleenix available. He is so missed.
Just beautiful. Thank you James Taylor!
Oh. I. Am.In.Tears.
Well I’m late to the party as usual.
Good lord! Is David Letterman planning to play St Nick as his next gig? Look at that beard 😲
llolol
I think our President is deeply moved. As am I.
Dammit, I’m crying
I cried practically through the entire speech.
I cried before, during & now after the speech. Watching a rerun of it
My president has a loud voice 🙂
I hereby declare President Barack Hussein Obama for being the best looking president - Ever.
So agree!
2nd
Our President looks hot. I mean you know what I’m saying is like the temperature in that room is warm. 🙂
Yes, we know exactly what you mean mean, JO’B! 😊ðŸ˜ðŸ˜˜ðŸ”¥ðŸŽ¶
Don’t know what you’re talkin’ about, JO’B. 😉
🙂
PBO sure can pen some words together that make you think and to visualize what he says.
He sure can. Best orator ever!
Flag pin 🇺🇸
Preach!
We each have our own responsibility and can’t rely on others and become cynical when they let us down.
I really, really miss this.
I’m having thoughts. All kinds of thoughts.
Progress is Fragile!!!
Still has to work the rope line. He is so loved!
So much wisdom and reason, I am so very grateful for him.
A Gazillion thanks NW for letting us gather once again around to see & hear our Forever President â¤ï¸
X 2, NW
Sigh. We are so blessed that we saw, we heard, we knew, and are smart enough to walk beside him. God Bless Michelle Obama, a truly wonderful, beautiful, and compassionate woman. These are the best among us.
I totally agree with all that you wrote here
“ANY FOOL CAN BE FEARLESS”.
I loved when he gave tribute to VPJoe Biden…and when he said….”I Love My Wife”…i got weepy at that
GE Sheila.
Loved every minute of tonight’s award ceremony. 😀

Well deserved honor, accepted with trademark humility and grace by our beloved President. It was pure joy to share this evening.
I loved his PiC speech because it defined the standard we should use in evaluating a person running for office - low or high. They must have the heart and courage of a PUBLIC SERVANT.
The line I will remember the most, “Any fool can be fearless.” Oh boy! Don’t I know that.
The fools that are playing with people’s healthcare.
The fools that refuse to believe in science, or in climate change.
Listened for a few minutes to the pundits on MSNBC and have now turned it
they treat everything like it is a tennis match…what is the point of having GOP pundits to question the validity and integrity of Pres Obama’s speech…
I agree, they treat our lives like a game. That is the first time since November I had listened to MSNBC. It’ll be the last till Obama speaks again. I can’t handle these pundits anymore.

I get sick to my stomach when I even think of Trump being in the White House.
You are not alone.
Laughed when he said he didn’t know if Michelle was going to stick with him after her time as Flotus was up.
I loved…loved…when he said…”I Love ⤠my wife"
Loved it too….swoon 🙂
Oh, me too, Sheila! And the way she looked back at him…. sigh! 😻
That hair! That dress! Those earrings! Forever FLOTUS looking maybe her most stunning ever!

Exactly how I feel! I’m filled, once again, with “Yes we can!”
Yes
Yes…I’m just so emotional right now…
I want him back too.

Correction 1: Republicans are high-risk.
Correction 2: Republicans are ridiculous.
Oh my this picture needs to be front-paged!! Thanks Vet24, and paging NW… 🙂 🙂
One of my favorite pics of Pres Obama…
Thanks Almab â¤

Yes, I too agree with all that you said, MadameSoph
Beautiful! (You and your words!)
🤗 Thank you, JOBoomer. 🤗
Sen Warren who once again questioned the integrity of Pres Obama attended the JFK Profiles in Courage award ceremony for Pres Obama …the hypocrisy of it all is stunning
Only because she represents MA, I’m sure. Ugh.
Boy do I agree with that. When he mentioned her, I thought once again this man stands heads and shoulders above them all.
I agree.
she wants the reflected glory. profile in courage, indeed.
I just ordered a frame from Amazon.
I couldn’t agree more!
I posted on Facebook that I feel like I can breathe again even if just for these few minutes. All of you have expressed perfectly what I feel. Thanks to everyone. NW, bless you for keeping the doors open!

Congrats, tnmtngirl!
These folks irritate me so much…..
Prettyfoot I’m with you all the way, I’m tired of those progressive B.S.
I put Joan Walsh in the same category as Chris Matthews and the rest — irrelevant.
Amen
I tried to listen to a little of the commentary on Chris’ show … didn’t last long. He ruins all of it.
Judith - You are everywhere! (I’m surprised you weren’t at the Profiles in Courage event tonight!) WTG and keep up the great work.

All fools are fearless. So much so, they believe the first charlatan or demagogue from around the corner.
I MISS HIM!!!
Between this and watching Southside With You yesterday..
I miss 44 and Forever FLOTUS!!
We all do.
I watched Southside today too. This is such a bittersweet day.
WHERE ARE THE PICS?
Wasn’t that *your* assignment?
bridges are my forte.
I was immediately tempted to ask ‘What’s your fifty?’, but decided to behave (= be serious) and go to bed. Good night & sweet dreams! 😀
decided to behave (= be serious)
If you believe that, I got a bridge to sell ya.
🙄 Course I believe it…..since it’s applied to moi!
And would you stop perseverating on that ‘b’ word!
that b too far to cross?
Yea. :d 😀 #good1
