If you blink, you’ll miss me…… (I’m literally the 2nd one.)

    Here’s the long one…. (sadly, I don’t seem to be in the 30 second version…..*cry* )

There may yet be another one where is more of my story… (oh please universe, make it so!)

      GE Tally.

I sent this to you, hoping I captured the right screen shot (confused now 😦 ):

Also, I posted a (long) reply to Nena this morning on the previous thread re: the integrity of our voting system, mostly having to do with the fact that the “Help America Vote Act” (signed into law by GWB in Oct 2002) *requires* states to maintain a centralized digital voter registration file.
      https://theobamadiary.com/2017/09/23/you-dont-own-black-people/#comment-1698260

@RubenKMajor decided this summer to challenge Alex Padilla for California Secretary of State after researching the hacking of voter registration files this summer (had never heard of him before, but he recently followed me, so I’ve taken a peek at some of his research).

I had no idea that California is completely changing the way we cast our ballots — a few counties will change next year, but the majority are scheduled to change in 2020. Because Los Angeles county is so huge, they have more time to comply with the California Voter’s Choice Act (SB 450), which was signed into law a year ago.

Alex Padilla was a huge supporter of SB 450 which was modeled on how Colorado handles voting. When I did a Google search, found this article from the LATimes, published in August 2016 (before the bill became law).
      http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-sac-polling-place-replaced-vote-centers-20160823-snap-story.html

      From the article:
“In most of those [58] counties, every registered voter would receive a ballot in the mail and polling places would be scrapped. Voters would be able to turn in ballots either at secure drop boxes placed around the county or at the new ‘vote center’ locations.

Some of those vote centers would be open at least 10 days before election day, and would allow last-minute registration, a check of existing registration status and the ability to cast a vote in person even if the voter lives in a different city inside county lines. The bill says counties should work together at transporting the ballot of a voter who lives in Ventura County, for example, and mistakenly casts a ballot in Kern County.”

IMHO, making these changes now, when the very integrity of the US voting process is in question, is asking for trouble. We are at the mercy of vendors, who are not accountable to US voters at all. I’ve look at CA’s Secretary of State site, but haven’t been able to identify which vendors are supporting what here. 😦 (I do know of one vendor, which I don’t think is mentioned on the California SOS site:

Here’s a couple of tweets from @RubenKMajor — will continue to research as time (and my feeble brain — am about the least tech-savvy person on the planet) permits…

A young legal resident from the Sudan walked into a small Church of Christ in Tenn., killed a 39 year old woman and wounded 7 more people, come critically, who are 63 to 84 years old. He was stopped after accidentally shooting himself when he was pistol-whipping a 22 year old usher. The usher then ran to his car, got his gun, and stood over the shooter until the cops came. The church members are white, the shooter black. Get ready for a firestorm. This shooter will not be fed burgers, excuses given for his behavior or his victims asked within 24 hours if they forgive him. Instead of words of grace and healing, when he finally says something about this terrible crime, you know it will stoke violence and no black or brown person will be safe. In a race war, the majority of the victims are the oppressed followed by generations of more of the harshest oppression.

      GE CEB.

      It’s going to be horrible.

Illegitimate AG, Jeff “White Supremacist” Sessions, and FUBAR are going to rally their base around this awful crime, ignoring the fact that the killer used a gun, which are far too easily available in the US. 😦

Apparently the conversation between PBO and Zuckerberg took place at the APEC summit in Peru, on November 19-20, after the illegitimate FUBAR “election.”
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/APEC_Peru_2016#Economic_Leaders.27_Meeting

      From the article:
“Obama reportedly pulled Zuckerberg aside at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Peru in November and warned him that unless he cracked down on fake news, it would only get worse in the next election.

Zuckerberg told Obama that fake news wasn’t a major issue on Facebook and that there was no simple way to address it, sources told The (Washington) Post.”

If you like sockeye salmon most likely it comes from Bristol Bay. A copper mining company (known as the ‘Pebble Mine’) wants to mine copper there at one of the headwaters of the biggest Salmon Rivers we have. The slightest drop of copper messes up the salmon spawning signal. Allowing this to happen would be a disaster for the entire lower 48 who eat sockeye. Yes our PBO stopped this from happening.
Now we must block yet another attempt by this mining company — which is willing to destroy the economies of the Yupik communities (especially in Dillingham and King Salmon) who rely salmon for canning, industry and commercial fishing.
STOP the greedy ignorant Dotard. Ditto Pruitt. STOP copper mining.

My wife loves salmon, she loves it so much that she orders it when we go out to dinner. Me on the other hand, I wouldn’t think to order salmon or a salad for dinner. I mean if a person goes out to dinner why would they order salmon, or a salad for that matter. Order a pizza or a big juicy burger. Yes, you might have an upset stomach afterwards, but a person should enjoy themselves when they go out to dinner.

    Here’s the new Graham-Cassidy bill

Sens. Lindsey Graham and Bill Cassidy have revised their health-care bill, allowing states to loosen more of the Affordable Care Act’s regulations while diverting more money to the states whose senators hold the deciding votes on the legislation. They will formally release the revised measure tomorrow.

Why it matters: The deadline to pass a bill with just 50 votes is Saturday.

The Congressional Budget Office is expected to release preliminary estimates this week of the initial — and now outdated — version of the bill. With the clock ticking and little time for independent economic analyses, Graham and Cassidy are making a last-minute play for senators who have been critical not only of the bill’s contents, but of the rushed process, too.

What’s different: According to Graham and Cassidy’s analysis, the revised bill would direct more money to Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky and Maine, compared with earlier versions. But it would still reduce overall federal funding to those states — whose Republican senators are, for now, opposed to the bill or undecided.

What’s a trillion dollars among friends
    by David Anderson
    at 8:47 am on September 25, 2017.

Cassidy-Graham 2.0 came out last night. There are some major policy changes in it:

No need for states to submit waivers
    States must submit a plan
Plan does not define “Affordable” or “Adequate” or “pre-exisiting condition”
No specification of consequences or recourse if the state plan that was submitted failed to meet its objectives
States define their own Essential Health Benefits, out of pocket maximums and community rating
    Risk pools can be split
There are a bunch of political provisions. Several are aimed at shoveling money to Alaska, but those are not the important provisions. The policy matters more.

The bill sponsors also released their estimates of state effects. They use magical math.

GOP lawmaker: Arizona should recall McCain over cancer
BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 09/25/17 09:53 AM EDT

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said Monday that Arizona should recall Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) while he undergoes cancer treatment, saying that McCain’s ouster would give Arizonans a senator who keeps his word.

Gohmert’s remarks come after McCain announced his opposition to the latest GOP attempt to repeal ObamaCare, putting the bill closer to failure and enraging Republicans.

“You know, nothing inhibits recovery from cancer like stress. I think that Arizona could help him and us. Recall him, let him, you know, fight successfully this terrible cancer. And let’s get somebody in here who will keep the word he gave last year,” Gohmert said on “Fox & Friends.”
