They had been at 30, but we won 2 states away from GOP, so now down to 28. After the 2018 election, I’m hoping that number goes way down. We have to get everyone out to register to vote!!!

BBC is State owned, but operates independently of the State.
Last year, there were reports on at least 3-5 main Presenters who were/are Females were making 1/2 of their Male counterparts. There were meetings & then it was reported that they were going to correct this nonsense within a year or so. Hmm? It looks like it’s still rotten in UK’ s BBC Headquarters.

Everyone knows he’s a mess and he is not functioning as a president…hell, he barely functions as a human being as far as I’m concerned. What does that say to the millions of people paying attention? Here, and around the world. Such a fall from the pinnacle. And, what does all this tell these same millions of voters about Republicans doing everything they can to protect the unfit and dangerous impostor? As the days pass, it will just get worse. What is the breaking point? What needs to happen for someone to finally say, “I’m done with the charade!”

  13. 27 Sheila
    January 7, 2025 at 8:16 pm

It’s clear that the country has reached a dangerous inflection point. Republicans have decided en masse that their best chance at political survival is to hew closely to President Trump. But the president is so clearly unfit for office and in such obvious legal and ethical peril that they cannot protect him without violating basic principles of accountability and democracy.

Unfortunately, there are no mechanisms for accountability while Republicans run essentially the entire country. Democrats and all public officials of decency and patriotism must fight to preserve small-d democratic norms throughout the next year until hopefully Republicans lose control of Congress. But it will be a time of trial and extreme peril. It’s not clear how much longer our institutions can persevere against the strain of Trump’s authoritarianism and a Republican Party that has wholly lost its moral compass.

Natural disasters caused $306 billion in U.S. damage in 2017, the largest amount for one year

Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria combined with devastating western wildfires and other natural disasters to create the most expensive year on record, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported Monday.

Hurricane Harvey, which included extreme flooding in Houston and the surrounding area in August and September, caused $125 billion in damage, the year’s most expensive disaster.

The amount raises concerns about future disaster damage, as scientists fear climate change could make extreme weather events more damaging in the future. The previous most expensive year in history was in 2005, when disasters — including Hurricane Katrina — caused $215 billion in

Oprah’s interview is a challenge to us all to not keep secrets about abuse. My sister took her own life after years of abuse from her husband.
And I learned something just a few months ago that I can say on here – but not to my children. My Dad was one of the most handsome men
(filum star looks) I’ve ever seen…just an anomaly from a dirt poor family of 13. He inherited the dark skinned Irish look, and my Mum the auburn Irish. Almost zero schooling - but he’d an unusual intelligence and way of seeing. Anyway he never found any direction and I just didn’t get it when he seemed to have it all. A close family member disclosed that Dad’s eldest brother abused him from the time he was very young.
So now it makes sense, just wish I’d known while he was alive. Thanks for listening, here goes.
