Many could not see PBO. He was and still is invisible to them. That wasn’t about him though many tried to suggest that. He didn’t sound charismatic enough, he didn’t sound strong enough, his policies didn’t go far enough, etc. It’s still their default, because they turned their backs on the best thing they had had for a long time. Also they don’t give him credit for anything he did though he saved everyone’s well being in countless ways. Hillary had the same potential, to keep going on the changes that needed to be made with integrity and competence. People turned their backs on her and then vilified her for no good reason.
I am making it my mission to work on this. I know people find me a thorn in their side when I constantly bring up PBO or Hillary and I have to pace myself so I don’t start to feel isolated and diminished to the point that I can’t keep going. My assessment of the nature of both people I meet (progressives that is) or groups I try to get involved with (Dem or progressive) is whether they can do two things, acknowledge the betrayal of PBO and Hillary and explain why and name the objectives of the GOP like ethnic cleansing, kleptocratic maneuvers, fascism. I have receipts now.

Ladies you are right. Something that’s been sticking in my crawl lately is the MSM constant chatter about Dems have no message other than being against Trump. Then every Dem they interview tells them “it’s about Healthcare, wages, education, veterans, etc”. And yes a check on Trump.
I distinctly remember every Republicans running for anything their ads attacked Obama. Even for state elections. The boogey man was always Obama. Correct me if I’m wrong, but; I don’t recall the MSM always pointing that out. Also, when have Republicans ever had a message other than attacking their opponents (Nancy Pelosi, Obama, & Hillary)?
I think the Corporate media is all in with the Republican Party even if it’s Trump. Frankly, I’m getting sick of the daily Trump show with cable news. It’s time to report what’s actually happening in the Administration with less on the tweets.

I’ve been thinking about the nature of the stock market. The swings help some people and they relish them, that is if they have prior knowledge of what will make the market swing and when it will right itself. Over and over again since Trump has been in office there have been these sell offs and then, poof, everything goes back to normal. I think, personally, though I am no expert, that they are manipulating to do their kleptocratic thing.
The man in this house rants about that every day. He used to be republican, until President Obama ran for office.
A hard lesson that didn’t need to happen. FOCUS on your own campaign in your own district.
My progressive acquaintances have brought her name up as such a great development. I was fine with her win at first and then realized she was a “justice Democrat” board member and figured she was trouble. It turned out to be true.

I just love how strong and confident these girls are! I think the best thing is they are learning to FOCUS. I have two young great nieces and they are so fierce, so willing to try lots of things. Their parents are teachers so they have a great love of books, STEM, sports and the arts. I only hope there is a better world out there for them.
