THIS! Resistance is not for the weak and the inconsistent.
I suspect that people mean well when they suggest that the Dem 2020 nominee should be one who can attract traitor’s voters;
But, if these people have not changed their opinion or reduced their support of traitor given all we have been and are still going through, WHY do people expect them to suddenly change their minds and vote for a Dem?
My very limited political understanding leads me to conclude that the best Den 2020 candidate should be the one who can bring out as many democratic-leaning voters as possible.
The primary goal should be to register and protect the voting rights of new and most reliable democratic voters.
Dems should avoid running the campaign as if we are fighting the 2016 elections …. so many things have changed … mobilize and register new voters;

Its not that people are cheering that Jussie Smollett got off or got away with something. It is because the justice system has never been blind when it came to us. She has always peeked out from under her blindfold to see who she was dealing with, contrary to popular belief. When it comes to what we think justice is, each of us bring with them a perception of what justice means to them. What you think is just, I might think is unjust, and our life experiences will always dictate that. I remember when the O.J. Simpson verdict was announced, I was in my twenties and I was working at Miami International Airport. My coworkers and I were all on verdict watch that day, my best friend at work was this fifty-something year old White guy. We’d hang out all day at work telling jokes and just enjoying each other’s company, I really got to know this guy. When the verdict was announced I had a Black supervisor come up to me and ask me did I hear the verdict, they found O.J. innocent he said. This guy was so happy, he was elated, and it looked like he was walking on air. But the guy that was a close friend was distraught, you could see the pain and hurt in his eyes. Here you had two guys around the same age, both with vastly different life experiences reacting totally different. One was upset because he thought the justice system failed him. The other elated because he thought the justice system finally worked for once.
I have no idea what was behind any decisions made in the case that were announced today. When the announcement came, I was happy for Jussie Smollett, knowing his reputation and career have nevertheless suffered greatly.
But after spotting the Chicago police superintendent and their mayor Rahm Emmanuel having a press conference, it seems to me that their reactions are more about THEIR OWN EGOTISTICAL FAILINGS than any court decision. No idea where this will lead, but I’m not liking their reactions before the camera.
It was outrageous at best, I’ve never seen a presser from a police chief and mayor like that before. If I were Smollett I’d pay someone to watch my back 24/7.
Smollett might want to adopt another city as his home, for sure.
Barr was put in place to do just what he did, save Trump’s ass. I trust Barr as much as I trust Mitch McConnell.

There are amazing young ones out in our world. I was going down the hallway at work & one of my colleagues did a “psst” come, come here, to the side, I was “OK”, he seemed so excited to share that “psst”. So, he pulls out his cell phone to show me pics. His granddaughter spoke at UN on as one of young leadership out there fighting for climate change. This young gal is mighty-mighty! She even interviewed our FLOTUS back in the day, & she’s a pistol of action! She has a full scholarship to one of the universities in MD, but she wants to go to Spellman or Howard. Her Mom doesn’t want her far, they live in NY. Told my colleague, let that child fly! He cracked me up: am going to “break her mama’s legs” to let grandbaby fly! I felt so happy & proud to see those photos of this lovely & motivated young person speaking in the UN chambers, & having spoken w/ our FLOTUS, which I bet gave her more of an impetus to do it! I sure needed to hear this kind of wonderful today! Bless! ❤
