That whole event was touching and worthwhile watching. Our President Obama has proven again his underlying grace and aplomb. What an example. A Medal of Freedom to the elder Bush, BAH!
Outstanding….and so inspiring.
Chipsticks, thank you so much for this one. Bill Russell was such a star, and he was not inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame until he was well over seventy years old. He is a man of honor and healthy pride. When they finally asked him to join, he did join but refused to attend the event. It was like they finally felt shamed into doing it, and I think it is great he did not attend the event.
So many great people there today. It must be an amazing experience.
Hey, maybe in the next year or two PBO will invite Chipsticks to receive the metal of freedom. That could be so cool. Chips could tell the nation about this site and how everyone that uses the site loves Obama.
Ha, Dorothy, can you imagine –
President Obama: “And the next Medal of Freedom goes to Chipsticks for posting gazillions of photos of me on the internet, like there aren’t enough there already.”
You’re a sweetheart for having that thought, though 🙂
Well in the world of MSM where manure-spreaders are the rule, a truth and inspiriation-spreader is certainly worthy of recognition. I hope our President and FLOTUS have a sense of the support networks like TOD and BWD’s that are keeping
supporters informed, connected and optimistic. What you do means so much to so many, it’s hard to over state the value of your efforts.
If you did get called to the Whitehouse, I think it’s safe to say, we would all want to tag along.
I agree. Chipsticks and Blackwaterdog are both doing amazing job keeping us imformed. Not just the pics but they both give us important info that corporate MSM does not. I ❤ them both.
She’d better not go there without us….she’d have hell to pay 😉
This ceremony was lovely. I teared up. Our President is so classy and beautiful. I loved the way he says the former president is a “gentleman”. Loved it.
President Obama sets the standard for what excellence in humanity and leadership really looks like. He ROCKS!!!
I’ve always been struck by the frown permanently etched on the forehead of John Lewis, as though there’s a hundred lifetimes of knowledge and sorrow and wisdom behind it. It’s a beautiful face. Like an African God.
This was a wonderful and emotional ceremony! Warren Buffet looked like he could burst with pride try as did to stay stoic. It was wonderful and touching with spots of laughter.
This event was remarkable, and inspired me to look into the lives of the recipients a little deeper. Wow…..whoever said America was well represented on that stage was spot on. Not only was it remarkably moving, the brilliance represented in the honorees represents the enormous potential that exists in all of us.
