From Toledo yesterday:
Thank you Donna😉
Good Morning everyone.
I try not to listen to those “out here” but having wonderful videos such as these are a blessing.
Tank you and have a wonderful weekend.
Just woke up and needed to read the comments so pardon my spelling!
S/B: THANK and not Tank!
Now we know why he brought Michelle those gardening gloved. Ha! Ha! Ha! Mr. Prez had two chilli dogs, fries, and what else? Not the best for you, but I can’t complain,it sounds good to me. If I was with him I probably would have brought the First Lady some gloves, because I would have tried me one of those chilli dogs too. Sorry Michelle, but I would have did alttle moving ( LET’S MOVE) to try to get rid of old chilli.
Gardening gloves, I meant to say.
Good Morning Everyone,
Loved the videos. Gives me hope for the future and that’s the kind of positivity I need.
ps: Hey guys did you hear that on June 18th, 2011 an epic event is taking place? PBO and Speaker Boehner are playing golf (sending prayers, patience and wishes of goodluck for PBO). They’re going to be continuing further talks about the economy and the debt ceiling debate. Apparently Boehner has been playing golf since his 20’s and is feeling cocky that he can trounce PBO since PBO only started playing more vigorously since his presidency as a way to relieve stress but alas Boehner’s game has been crap since he became speaker and PBO’s game has been A-plus (hmm… I wonder why – *sarcasm*). Can’t wait for the pictures, video clips, conversation tidbits and news articles that come out of the “Golf Summit.” (the msm’s label)
No one watch the Weekend Today Show. They did the worst hit job on President Obama I have ever seen on a news program. It looks like NBC has joined FOXNews in an attempted takedown of this President. They had some dude from CNBC on who basically said Obama will never win re-election with this kind of economy, it won’t matter who the Republican nominee is, he even said a 12 yr. old could beat him at this point. It was so over the top and clearly meant to damage President Obama. I was fuming. And Lester Holt and Amy Rohbach (?) just sat there nodding.
Let’s face it, big business does not like the president, and they own the channels…
I can’t tell. His polls show he is in the lead. And who cares what they think? I sure don’t. No matter what’s being said on t.v., I know PBO is doing a really good job. He has my vote and I just really couldn’t picture anyone else in the white house right now. We the people out number those on FOXNews and all those other news channels. They didn’t feel the effects of all the choices the last president made and they don’t feel the relief and security we do with this president. I’m a Obama voter. Always have been, always will be.
I agree with you MeaBloom.
They trade in hyperbole every day. What a waste of precious resources for our nation.
This is just one more for the archive files we can break out after the elections. Let them keep proclaimig his political demise, even when it is clear he is the one when compared to the GOP is trying to right this country.
This Nate Silver article has a slightly different take.
The thing is, they make statements that are so outrageous that they overshoot their point and make themselves ridiculous. What thinking person will vote for a Republican to solve the economy? The party that doesn’t think twice about throwing grandma off a cliff so they can cater to the top 2%? The party that has consistently voted against every attempt to heal the economy, from stimulus to jobs bills to clean energy legislation to The same party who says “so be it” when they’re told that a million jobs will be lost if their plans are implemented? How about the party who voted against funding for 9/11 responders to get health care for their injuries. The party who is killing the middle class by ending social programs, destroying the ability to collectively bargain, etc.
They are putting all their bets on the stupidity of people who will hand their lives over to the party who destroyed the economy in the first place, thinking that everything they’ve done these past three years will be miraculously reversed and they’ll suddenly find a way to fix the economy.
How about the response from the people at the diner? With all th B.S yesterday about the jobs report, that was great to see. And the response he got at the plant. How about Chrysler have paid back all the loan they got from the government , and six years early. Just imagine were those people would be if the President had listen to the Republicans and not help the Auto Companies. I hope people realize we have to stand with this President, if we could get rid of the Tea- Republicans, and give him someone who is willing to work with him, this economy can get back going. My confidence in him is still there. I know the crap he has had to deal with. But I’m still believing in our President.
Here’s a fun and nice follow-up in the Toledo Blade about Obama’s visit there yesterday. And that employee at Fred’s Hardware store whom we thought looked very unfriendly?—–we misread his expression. He was the one who directed Obama to the gardening gloves section and said he was completely “star struck”. He said, “I called my mom right away. I think she hit the floor.”
Lovely article. So positive!
Good for you Toledo!
Thank you dotster – that’s great. I just reposted this article on BWD’s site because I remember a bunch of us were literally fuming about the poor guy’s facial expression which we felt depicted indifference towards our President. I guess we were being over-sensitive by reacting to those still photographs and misinterpreting them!!!
Oh thanks for that dotster, I was one who commented on bwd’s site that I thought he looked quite unfriendly- very much appreciate being set straight !
LOL – I was thinking the same as you too, sherijr..I just didn’t have the energy to comment at the time!!!
Thanks dotster for giving us the inside Toledo scoop!
The republicans are on the ropes with this Medicare vote and lousy candidates, but they do have the media, to purport their many lies!
Chevy volt gets top government rating for safety!
morning TOD family.
I loved those videos so thank you.
as for the hit job done on the President by the CNBC punk? he does it every chance he gets😡
May GOD guide;protect and bless the President.I hope he finds a way to get some rest as he deserves it.
Good Morning All,
Really enjoyed the video above. Hopefully today will bring more.
Anywho… Will we be able to watch the Ford Reception Live anywhere Chipstick? PLease say YES!
Dear Obama family,
Please do not not give in to despair because of the hate and poison that are spewed by the GOP media.Instead, let us totally wrap our President and his family in our love and prayers. Let us always remember what he has archived thus far, despite all the odds and never forget that it was no accident that he rose on the wings of an eagle, from nothing to the highest office in the world. The Lord is with him and will remain with him. The Lord will always set a table before him in the very presence of his enemies and the Lord has already anointed his head with oil. So please Obama family, let us hold on to the promise and the words of scripture ” IF THE LORD BE WITH US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US”.
God bless you all and have a great weekend.
Amen Manny Oke. Amen.
Manny OKE, you mind if I do alittle shouting dance, and say Amen, Amen, Amen to what you just said.
Wise words, indeed.
Love the reception he got in Toledo!! His spirit is infectious.
great videos. thank you chips and donna!
I’m too busy watching these AWESOME videos from Toledeo to worry about whatever bashfest the talking heads are engaging in today — I don’t watch them anyway.
How wonderful was the reaction at Rudy’s??? That’s what’s real. As is the reaction of the mayor and the auto workers. That’s what’s real. Not the over-paid, over-rated, over-inflated talking heads.
I am always grateful to people who show unabashed enthusiasm for the President in spite of an undercurrent that is trying to damp their joy. I always send a silent “thank you” to the people who line the motorcade routes, who cheer him in surprise restaurant visits, who rush to shake his hand and ask for his autograph, who meet him at the airports…I always thank these people in my head because they remind me what is real, and they help keep my President going.
I was just remarking yesterday on the pic posted of PBO comforting the elderly woman from Joplin — thanks for finding and featuring it, Chips😉. That’s what’s real.
I like how PBO has moved into a new phase of his presidency. Since he can’t count on any movement in Congress, he can’t continue his legislative agenda for the meantime. So he has pivoted to emphasizing his executive decision-making and using his pulpit whenever he can, and damn well wants to. Unlike Bill Clinton, he’s not pulling back because of an unruly Congress, he’s pressing ahead and continuing to talk about big ideas…and he’s doing a little horn-tooting while he’s at it. Gotta love it😛 .
That’s what I’m focused on. Have a great day everyone :-)!
The only reason I care what the networks are airing is because their damaging programming goes out to the public and influences opinions in people who are not as clued in as we all are. And I think it’s irresponsible and unethical to air that kind of message with no questioning or pushback from the anchors, no background, no balance, just placing all the blame on Obama for the disappointing news re. the economy. And I wrote them and told them so. I am sick of it.
I love your comments, PJ. So profound, and so true – every single word. Republicans want to create their own reality, but they can’t. And the President certainly has his own style in tooting his own horn, which is so subtle and gracious. Thanks!
I almost cannot look away, so very moved am I by the empathy and grace of our President Obama:)
THIS is what re-elects President Obama.. nothing the media spews can outrank what he does when he connects with the actual people in the cities and towns.. and when their local media reports the FACTS as appears to have been done in Toledo- the national news can lie all they want, but folks in Toledo know better.. and I believe they’ll remember and they’ll remind their neighbors who is on their side, come election day. My gawd he really is remarkable. Joplin won’t forget him and neither will Toledo. Sarah who?? Mitt who?? huh.
The picture of the President comforting this woman in Joplin is deeply moving. He has her completely enveloped, and you can see that she’s so completely there with him, and he’s completely there with her. I remember seeing this moment on the day, and you could just see him enveloping a small person in a really big hug. There’s something so utterly and genuinely protective in this moment. It’s not a photo-op.
I’m just getting to these videos. Great post about Toledo, Chipsticks. Thanks! You know, if Fox News coverage was like the FOXTeam in Toledo I would watch that station. Very professional, fair and positive.
