2012 just got tougher for the president…

CBS: Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, R-Mich., will officially launch a bid for the Republican presidential nomination on Saturday, an adviser for McCotter has confirmed…The five-term Michigan congressman will file the necessary paperwork on Friday and formally announce his entrance into the race in Livonia, Michigan, on Saturday evening.

The little-known politician has for months hinted at a possible candidacy: In addition to several trips to early-primary states and an appearance at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans this month, McCotter recently secured a place in Iowa’s crucial Ames Straw Poll, which will take place in August. (The representative reportedly paid $18,000 for the prime spot.)

…Despite the Republican congressman’s relative lack of name recognition, his strong conservative credentials could earn him support in Iowa … According to the adviser, McCotter was inspired to enter the race after perceiving the discourse as “lacking in the current field.”

“He has something to say and has some ideas and some policies to put out there that nobody else is discussing right now,” the adviser said. “His presence in the race is going to force these issues and force this discussion that the country has to have right now.”

Yea. Look at him. I bet the President is quaking in his boots right about now:)

Since you asked, I looked, Desertflower. He does seem warm and full of charm, doesn’t he? Not to mention shifty-eyed and somewhat ‘bleh’. πŸ˜‰ Seriously, in picture 1 he looks like he might be feeling ill and is trying to hold himself together. My dear departed grandma would have diagnosed ‘ he needs a washout’. In picture 2 the music might have improved his colour but it obviously hasn’t done much for his frame of mind. I’m supremely confident PBO’s campaign can supply grandma’s ‘washout’.

Have a great July 1st, Everyone!

And the Morning Joke crew starts touting him as a serious, formidable candidate in 5…4…3…2..

Too bad Halperin is not on MSNBC to say how McCotter is a serious contender, he won the week and how this is great news for McCain πŸ˜•

Hey, the more candidates the better. Pretty soon they are going to have to start going after one another. I am going to do some research on him. thanks for this Chipstick. Let’s the games begin.

Ahh another GOP Savior.. I await with baited breath his.. “ideas and some policies to put out there that nobody else is discussing right now,” the adviser said. β€œHis presence in the race is going to force these issues and force this discussion that the country has to have right now.”

As long as he’s a Repub, his ideas are the same tired, failed ideas we’ve heard for the past 40 years, including a few new ones against women, gays, children, minorities, foreign countries, progress, education, science, reality, sanity… and so on.

I hope you’ve got room on the Zombie, board, Chipsticks – this one looks like one already (sorry, but he’s creepy).

  4. July 1, 2011 at 11:49 am

This Republian race is getting to be more than a three-ring circus. It’s more like a comedy with one actor after another vying for who will be the best joker of all.

I know this is shallow, but if that’s the best smile he’s got, he’s going to have to practice in front of the mirror.

No, he might give himself a headache straining those “smile” muscles. I just can’t believe another wet fish in the race. Pathetic !

Can’t wait for Halperin to tell us how tough it is going to be for PBO to take on this new cast member.

“Indeed, “he is the one to beat,” said Halperin, recently suspended from his MSNBC post as the dickish political analyst.

Halperin said this time he is betting on McCotter to be the Republican savior, that is until Perry throws his hat in the race. Halperin who has his doctorate in hacking for the GOP, plans to carry water for McCotter until Perry makes his decision next week.

Heard on our local news last night that Gov Rick Perry was here in our rich moneyed Orange County, touting Repugs for financial support in the EVENT that he decides to run…hmmmm…….

I remember this guy from the House floor.. I just can’t recall if it was during the health care debates or some other.. but he is definitely one for the tea party folk- far to the right and whacko.. if memory serves.

My first reaction when I read about this exciting new candidate yesterday was “Who?” Ol’ Thaddeus looks like a real charmer, doesn’t he? That headshot is just sad—–LOL sad! The Repubs are so desperate, they’re going to start pulling people off the street and asking if they want to be a candidate for POTUS.

As soon as I scrolled down the post to see this I rolled my eyes and was almost tempted to skip it. At this point, Alvin, Simon and Theodore could join and I’d be more intrigued. Speaking of losers (this new dodo head, not The Chipmunks) I think we should start a drinking game where every time Liar Liar Pants on Fire opens his mouth we take a drink (to cool off in preparation) and make a bet about which flop he’ll flip. The loser contributes $5 to barackobama.com or OFA. Any takers?
ps- the drinking part of the game is optional πŸ˜‰

Be afraid, be very afraid. for ye know not when the hour of the Repug messiah will be nigh….

Luntz admitted to this dilemma for wingnuts when he first set eyes on Senate candidate Obama way back in 2005 when the latter electrified the whole nation at the Democratic National Convention. He said that Repugs had been looking for someone like Candidate Obama to take on Reagan’s mantle all these decades, BUT when he appears, he is a Democrat. Drat!!!

Luntz has never regained any semblance of sanity since that admission. To them, Pres. Obama is the neighbor’s baby one would have wanted to steal at the hospital nursery. But Alas, he belongs to another. No wonder the entire wingnut cabal is in a manic depressive state.

Zizi – this is perfect, and explains the GOP insanity to a “T”. If President Obama was a Repub, the Democrats wouldn’t see the inside of the White House for another 1000 years, at least. Reagan would be knocked off his pedestal, and they’d name a whole state after President Obama! So true!

And that is why the Democratic party is a dud…

They get the most all around amazing man on their team and they not only do everything in their power to take the shine off and knee-cap him, but they go all in with the republicans to destroy this man and their best and only chance for the future…

I also say shame on Democrats…

I don’t know how any of them can get votes when President Obama is the epitome of what you’d want in a president: intelligent, humble, fun, loving husband and father, cares for the average American, a killer smile, and a way with babies! I mean what else do you need?
