the ‘moderate’ republican?

ThinkProgress: …. Jon Huntsman is releasing an economic plan today that is as bad for the middle-class – and as nutty – as any proposed by his rivals. It would pay for a half-million-dollar tax break for the richest 0.1 percent of Americans with tax increases on the middle-class and new taxes on seniors, veterans, and poor families.

…. Huntsman would drop the marginal rate paid by the richest Americans by more than a third to 23 percent …. He would also eliminate all taxes on all capital gains and dividend income – the primary forms of income for the wealthiest Americans…..

– All Social Security benefits would become taxable. Senior citizens who currently receive the average Social Security benefit as their primary income source (as is the case for most seniors) currently pay no income taxes on those benefits, but would under Huntsman’s plan.

– Many middle-class parents would lose child tax credits and tax benefits for education and child care that are more valuable to them than a tax rate cut.

– Huntsman’s tax plan would also eliminate the employer health insurance exclusion, which helps enable some 160 million Americans get coverage through their jobs.

– One of the most successful pro-work, anti-poverty initiatives, the Earned Income Tax Credit, would be abolished.

– Veterans pensions and disability benefits would become subject to tax, as would all military combat pay, military housing allowances and meals, workers compensation payments, public assistance benefits, and state foster care payments…..

$10 says President Obama will agree to moving it. Comical that Boehner doesn’t mention the debates though, tries to blame security concerns. He just wants to say “See I told Obama no!” to his drinking buddies.

From what I heard, Thursday night is the NFL kickoff – big night in sports…think Obama would go for that?

Is there a way for the President to send a middle finger to Boehner? Because if thursday is some big football night thing then that doesn’t work for the President because Americans love their football. I sincerely hope the President can go ahead and give the address on Wednesday. Boehner is an idiot.

He can give a prime-time address. Fox will cover the debate instead.

He has no choice, as I see it.

            This is stunning. Absolutely stunning.

And I thought i couldn’t be further stunned after reading the highlights of Huntsman’s — the only alleged Republican ‘adult’ economic plan.

I need a drink. A big one. I am stunned beyond belief.

Good point. That’s ultimately what Boehner is after me thinks. Also what stations will give up the time? Why can’t Boehner have the House called back a day sooner?

The big question to ask Huntsman would be “how much would this save you and your family”?

I don’t understand how these politicans who put forth these kind of proposals expect to win any support outside of the top 1%. It seems crazy to me. Vote for me, I will take away what little you have, I will make you suffer, I have no decency!

Well, how will this play across America? The single mother who has worked hard to gain employment and who struggles daily to make ends meet will now see her Earned Income credit disappear, maybe pushing her and her children into abject poverty. The senior citizen who struggles to make a living and pay all the bills for medical care and prescriptions will now find his Social Security payment taxed. The disabled veteran who has served his country with honor will now see his veteran’s and disability benefits shrink. Meanwhile, the multi-millionaire who is comfortable after making his fortunes with the taxpayer’s help will see his income go up. Is this for real?

What kind of a morally bankrupt person in full faith and conscience releases such evil drivel as a jobs plan? He’s basically eliminating the middle and working class. Just eviscerates them in every way imaginable.

We need to call the whitehouse to support them for this day. We also need to call/tweet boehner and drive him crazy. Cause you know the White house will agree to the speakers wishes. The President has always been conciliatory because that is his nature. Can we please tweet or crash their phones?

If it is true with reference to John Huntsman’s proposal on taxing the poor, he is nothing but a malignant tumor which requires chemotherapy!!!
    Yikes! What a creep!!!
