I was reading a discussion of Rupert Murdoch manipulating the results of Australia’s elections in the past and in the present. One of the points made was that the party that represented his interests became the party of NO in Australia, refusing to participate in any normal way as legislators until they created a crisis that was then blamed on the party he was trying to take out. It was called a constitutional crises and the power switched in the direction he was intending.
We had our own version of the Australian elections crisis in 2010! We cannot forget about the republican “Party of No!” They said “No!” to everything President Obama proposed…even those things they were for at all other times in our history. The negative spill-over infected the voters, and they reacted by throwing out democrats. We must point out this narrative early and often. The 2012 Election is a most important marker for our nation’s future. America has not been this openly hostile to any and all minority interests–gays, women (I know women are a majority, treated as a minority), hispanics, blacks, transgender, and all other minority groups–since the civil rights movement of the 50s’ and 60s’, Also, the proposed treatment of the middle class, workers, union members–you name it–is a throw back to really unfair periods in our nation’s history. In addition, the “Party of No” types want to amend the constitution to take away rights that citizens currently enjoy. This is a serious threat to the American way of life. We must fight this political wave!!!
Absolutely. In addition to pointing out this narrative as much as possible, we must point out that this has been a concerted effort by ALEC and the Koch Brothers to suprress every right that the average citizen enjoys. They are the ones spearheading this wave of convoluted crisis. They have their tentacles in local government, state government, state legislatures, and in the halls of the U.S. Congress and are steadily trying to erradicate every law that helps labor, unions, students, women, minorities of all stripes, middle and working class folks. It’s an assault on society.
Well said. Very well said.
Totally co-sign! Both Gwendolyn and utaustinliberal nailed what’s going on. This is indeed an orchestrated plan by Kochs and others to destroy the country and blame the destruction on President Obama. I thought Rush Limbaugh was being an idiot when he said, from day of the Obama presidency, that he wanted President Obama to fail. Now I realize that he was articulating the plan right wing Republicans agreed on. They would rather destroy the country before they allow President Obama to win a second term. Clearly the MSM seem to be aiding and abating the plan by failing to expose what the right wing Republicans are up to.
