President Obama greets residents waiting for him as he arrives for a campaign event in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla
…. greeted by Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla, Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla, and West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio
Palm Beach International Airport
Looking good Mr. President!
Why is he so hot?
You know BWD, I’m thinking of posting the odd photo of Willard in his swimming trunks here just to try and keep the temperature down, I just fear these photo threads are contributing to global warming. And I don’t want that on my conscience.
I’ve already sent notification to Al Gore that I think his theories have been all wrong, and he might want to launch an exploration on this site. I know I’m feeling warmer already, and I just got here!
Ah jeez, Al will be leaving abusive comments now, blaming us for the hotting up of the globe. Theo, what have you done?
I was honour-bound… *demurely bows head*
don’t do it….who’s in the red outfit? I just got here
Warning, warning, your blog might crash…😦
Talk about a DEEP FREEZE….that would bring the temps down too much Chips.
I have no idea. I feel like he does this on purpose.
He just can’t help it, BWD, he just can’t help it!
So I missed this thread while I was on the last one greeting the day.
“Good Morning all you O’s!!!! Another great gettin’ up really windy day in Chicag-O!! Santorum’s campaign is saying to stand by for an annoucement later this afternoon. The work to the media was to ‘be sure you have your pens ready’. Hmmm, wondering if they’re going to annouce that he’s staying in the race at the same momnet that PBO is scheduled to speak? If he was leaving the race it would seem that they wouldn’t preface news llike that with fanfare.”
I was watching a DVR’d program of a show from last week (or the week before) and the news teaser came on showing Santorum when he swore at the reporter for reporting exactly what he had said. I actually jumped in my seat at the amount of fury coming from Santorum. He’s just bad. He just seems like a bad person. I don’t normally use that kind of language about an entire person that I don’t personally know – but if this is Santorum on his best behavior, trying to convince a country to vote for him, then what is he like when he’s off camera? I’ll be thoroughly relieved when he drops out of the scene, but I’m also worried that like Herman Cain, he’ll be unleashed to shout hateful nonsense from the sidelines, with nothing to lose.
I blame McCain for all of this.
Theo, I agree with you about Santorum, but I don’t think he has much of an audience remaining. He has made a fool out of himself except in the deep red areas.
You may be right, but I think the GOP enthusiasm comes from the evangelicals, and that other pastor was on this weekend talking about how Mormonism is going to be a huge problem for the evangelicals. It’s going to be interesting to watch the GOP try to coalesce behind their pathetic candidate – even though it’s going to be ugly.
You are loved and admired Mr. President. Thank you for making government “cool” again. It’s driving the GOP crazy.
Some liberals are not fair to the president, but advocating hard for what government is and can be is something a lot of liberals wanted from the president in the early parts when the t-bagers were demonizing anything government. Good to hear his fullthroated advocacy. More of this, please.
Santorum “suspending” his campaign.
I’m cracking up here – Mark Halperin says “world holds breath for 2pm-ish meet the press moment in Gettysburg”. No Mark, the vast majority of the world has never heard of Santorum.🙄
World did Hold breath for Gettysburg announcement, in 1863!
True Jovie!!! And Dick Halperin thinks this announcement is just as momentous!
Dick Halperin thinks the sound of a toilet flushing is momentous!
Are you sure that wasn’t a sarcastic little comment on the unimportance of this announcement? That’s how it reads to me.
We are having the same thoughts….ESP
Darn, I was looking forward to him getting trounced in the PA primary. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall with that.
I think his suspension has something to do with his daughter’s health.
She’s had bad health since birth and that didn’t stop him – or even when she was hospitalized a couple of months ago. I feel for her.
I think it has more to do with an snippet of an interview I saw on one of these shows of one of the leading pastors (tea party type) who was saying Rick’s had a good run, and he’ll still be younger that Romney in eight years to run again (they’re assuming Romney will win, and that he’ll last more than a single term – unlike his time as Governor). Plus, he met secretly with Rick Perry last week, whom I think was the messenger from the evangelicals for him to drop out.
It’s worth the dKos link. Jill Klausen does amazing work on framing that can help all of us fight the Good Fight:
Sanatorium knew that he was going to loose his own state PA, and his excuse now is that
his douughter is ill, well I am sorry for the little girl, but, but if Sanatorioum was ahead on his
state I bet you he will continue just to make things bad for Mitt. sanatorium will never be elected
Let’s all remember that this was discussed ad nauseum before his daughter was hospitalized. There was a great deal of conjecture that he would save himself the embarrassment of losing PA.
Santorum suspending campaign
Santorium Is suspending his Campaign, well we figured It would happen sooner or later
Welcome to my neck of the woods President obama
Father Rick has dropped out of the race.
You mean “Ayatollah Rick”. Good riddance.
Only a loser like Willard could have enabled St. Rick to have stayed in the race so long. Any competent politician — or at least one not so disliked — would have pick Rantorum away a long time ago.
Ranty did us a favor, though — he brought a spotlight to the TeaOP’s War on Women. Ain’t no putting that genie back in the bottle.
I am not sure how I feel about Santorum leaving the race. He was the open, no doubt about it, face of the Republican War on Women, as well as all the other culture war stuff. Without him there, Romney can start his drift toward the center. On the other hand, my guess is a lot of Santorum folowers will feel he was forced out by the party and Romney. Whereas they may have been willing to half-heartedly support Romney in November, they may view this as a reason no to. Specially if the polls going into late October and November show Romney losing they may decide “Screw him, he deserves to lose big” and not vote.
I think the Karl Rove media nonsense and their claim of having 200 million to spend (trying to) destroy President Obama was a message to the masses that they will launch a campaign that they think will win DESPITE their pathetic candidate. I think this thing got sewn up over the weekend, and now the machinery is taking over. We’ll likely see all the surrogates come out to speak on behalf of Mitt, so he doesn’t have to speak anymore, except for the scripted stuff. FOX will fall in line and stop giving him “hard hitting” interviews. And because they’ll be attacking President Obama day in – day out, people will be motivated to defeat the President instead of looking at Mitt.
It makes me sick, because their intentions are so evil. But, I think it’s going to motivate people. They offer nothing of value. They are entirely negative. And they lie. And like the President said, he’s got truth on his side. I’m still optimistic about good overcoming evil, but I think everyone’s got to be prepared for a very ugly ride that will have nothing to do with discussing policies, and everything to do with spreading lies and evil.
That is what I’ve recently noticed… that the Republicans and the hard right are more focused on attacking President Obama and not so much on defending Etch a Sketh Mitt. Unfortunately for them, President Obama will fight back hard… this mofo got Osama bin Laden almost a year ago, and the Republicans think he’s weak? Laughable.
Right on, theo67, they will flaunt their ugliness to the max, and people will become even more soul-weary, perhaps finally learning to turn off the television and seek out the facts for themselves. We need to keep reminding them to LISTEN to the President himself, and to direct everyone we meet to wh.gov, and to spread out those little cards with achievements, and encourage people to think for themselves. Whoa, that’s a tall order, eh?
Excellent ideas – do you have that link that Tien Le put together with teh little cards? I need to bookmark that right away. It’s really a struggle for survival for the middle class – social Darwinism indeed! I’m shocked at how many friends of mine just aren’t paying attention, and won’t even spend one hour or 30 minutes watching a video that will refute the talking points they love to spew. My new tactic is to ask them for specifics, just to point out to them that they don’t know what they’re talking about – then when I point out a couple of specifics, they realize that they are just not informed. I’ve already warned them that I’m going to be a pest for them until Election Day. They have to take their right to vote seriously (and the fact that their apathy impacts the entire world – which is what makes me furious)!
Well it seems that Karl did not get the memo of the lates polls among wemen and Hispanics, and AA, and Gays.
Younger voters, and seniors. So I am NOT worried about Karl’s 200 million, we will have the people, and yes watch
the ground GAME by Obama Team it looks very impressive.
Every thng you wrote is true but at the end of the day Mitt has to go on that platform and debate the President. No one is going to help him then. Even if they put something in his ear and whisper the answesr to the debate questions he will come off as goofy, unrelateable and foolish. He will put his foot in his mouth and ramble on and he will come off as the idiot he is. The President will be as cool as a cucumber while Mitt will be dripping sweat in his holy drawers. Can’t wait.
Folks for 43 years I lived in America and never becane a citizen. I will be one this year, marking my vote for the President. Lord, let me live long enough, please!
Congratulations! What an important vote for your first one.
Vice President Biden reminds me so much of a Deacon from my Church and he looks a little like him, too. I love Vice President Biden.
I love Vice President Biden too, yes I do.
VP Biden, love him too.
That first pic is precious
Great pics of the Prez in the Florida sunshine.
That first pic reminds me: I hope the WH takes me up on my lil’ suggestion for a Seniors Summit — I know the Seniors would love him!
This senior loves him, no question about it!
FROM MINORITY LEADER: Nancy Pelosi
Another Morning Show, Another Denial of Reality from Paul Ryan
n his latest attempt to deny the devastating impact of the Republican budget, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan chose to throw facts to the wind this morning on the “Today” Show:
“Do you acknowledge poor people will suffer under this budget?” [Ann] Curry asked Ryan.
“No,” Ryan responded… [4/10]
It’s actually quite stunning he was able to utter that word with a straight face—let’s look at the reality.
Pathological lying is considered to be truth telling by the individual with the affliction.
Yeah. The kids who will forego college to stand in line to get a job at McDonald’s need ‘toughening’ up to build ‘character’.
He called our Generals Liars……I am not interested in anything he says
Santorum is a boring sanctimonious douche.
so Bill, tell us how you really feel. 😉
42nd! And just in time for lunch! VaHoo!
It’s telling that Father Rick dropped out right before his state’s primary… the internals for him were not looking good, and Etch a Sketch Mitt was on track to embarrass him there. Now the race is down to Speaker Moonbase and RuPaul whom I predict will drop out sometime in the next two weeks. Speaker Moonbase has already admitted his campaign is toast, and RuPaul has just been a way to keep Moonbase and Father Rick from getting enough delegates to catch up with Etch a Sketch.
I love your analogies, nintendowii10, LOL!!
I love Frederica Wilson and her hats….what a hoot she is…..
I also notice how Father Rick hasn’t endorsed the Etch a Sketch…that’s really going to burn.
Heads up everyone:
