What an ass hole CM is. I love how PBO bitch-slaps the pundits in such a way that not only shows them for the inept fools that they are, but he does it in such a casual dismisive manner that shows them as the powerless, childish, feekless, useless, dumb and inconsequential group they are.

And, it’s almost, (Almost…) like PBO is embarrassed by such a crass comment by Chris Matthews. I say “almost” because at the same time, PBO verbally smacks him, reprimands him and laughs at him, all at the same time. PBO knows that we can do better, and he lets the world know that he knows. PBO: class act — all the way!!!

i liked the interviewer’s manner as well. He was informed, asked the difficult questions in a respectful, professional manner and waited for an answer; he was not in love with the sound of his own voice. He wanted answers, not just an excuse to give his opinion on matters. It is sad that foreign journalist are often so much more sophisticated, knowledgable and professional than our own these days.

Amazing that he managed to smack down the entire US press corps and then whip Chris around with the “and Chris is one of the best at it.” Of course, in the context of the sentence, the “it” is nothing to be proud of. I hope PBO and the president of Brazil laugh at Chris’ idiocy at dinner tonight. What a dweeb.

I may just have to write a little letter to MSNBC. As much as PBO smacked the shit out of Matthews for that disgusting comment,is this really who they want representing their network? The fact that he is a GUEST in their country, and just there to moderate a conversation with the President’s of three nations..and not to inject his own thoughts, like he does on his show….is despicable behavior to me. This is not the Chris Matthews Show, bantering back and forth about personal opinion and who can out crazy each other devoid of facts, for crying out loud! It’s embarrassing.PBO did a masterful job of slamming that idiot, as noted by Tweedy’s ass sucking about PBO being HIS President…..that slap across Tweedy’s face is going to leave a lasting hand print…..but this behavior is NOT OK. There are NO journalists with integrity in the US media anymore. Once upon a time, in the days of my youth, this kind of commentary would never be tolerated. Call me old fashioned, but this is an example that our civility as fallen off the charts. Shame on Chris Matthews and shame on MSNBC if they let this guy get away with this with no repercussions for his attitude. I’m livid!

Iran nuclear talks ‘positive’ after 15-month break

Key talks on Iran’s controversial nuclear programme, which have resumed after a 15-month impasse, have been described as “positive” and “totally different” from the last meeting.

Six world powers – the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany – and Iran are meeting in Istanbul in Turkey.

After a two-and-a-half-hour morning session, there was general agreement among the six world powers, known collectively as the P5+1, that there had been progress.

Mr Mann said: “The principles for future talks seem to be there.”

MSNBC is actually showing the Tweety clip—–and more from the event. I’m wondering if some there were secretly cheering President Obama’s retort to Too Big For His Britches Tweety Bird. Right before that Richard Lui was interviewing Kristen Welker who is in Columbia who was of course first talking about the SS scandal, which came to light because one of the prostys went to the police to complain about not being paid, which is kindof amusing, but then Lui brought it back and asked Welker to report on why President Obama was there. Thank you. Someone finally asked the key question.

Back to what I was going to say……

It’s amazing how PBO’s smackdowns aren’t intended to be malicious. There are no bad feelings behind his comments which is why he can always stay pleasant to people he’s just kicked in the groin. He delivers smackdowns with the same attitude he delivers lines at the WHPC Dinner thing he does every year. I wish I could deliver smackdowns like that. I think it’s because i’m too petty so my smackdowns are always personal and always brutal. I think I want to be more like PBO. I’m gonna aim higher in terms of self possession even though my foot will still be stuck up someone else’s ass.

I do love listening to our president speaking extemporaneously, such a combination of intelligence and wit, and never mean spirited. I know they’re all nonsensical lies, but the teleprompter meeme never made sense to me as he is the most articulate politician to come along in ages.

        April 14, 2012 at 3:04 pm

Lisa, I hear you. I love the manner in which POB can listen and think at the same time. Then I really love it when the other person is not listening and thinking, but trying to score points at the expense of someone else. Chris just did that, and POB recognized that as he was listening and thinking of what crap was coming out of Chris Matthew’s mouth.

First, if you notice, the look on POB’s face. Then look at the body language as Chris was asking the stupid question. Then look at the body language and then POB leaning into CM’s space as POB touches his pants cuff, (POB’s pants) well that means the President is ready to put his foot up your behind.(I will be polite here) But that is a fact.

Then the POB did not like the fact that Chris was painting the ugly picture of a female head of the Brizailan government (like disrespect), POB does not like those actions from anyone let alone, dumbass CM. POB realize that Chris had overstepped his grounds, and since POB could not tell Chris what was really going on in his mind, POB stepped up and kicked CM’s up his ass really fast and hard. That is the last trip CM will make with POB, and we can count on that, for sure.

Chris just embrassed himself and his country, not POB. POB just again, showed us a delightful part of the brilliance of his father. Read about the man, his father that is. Barack Sr. was no one to play with in situations like this, and even Tutu and POB’s grandfather stated those facts. I read two great books on POB’s father, and POB is a master at it as well.

I am proud of the slap that POB just gave CM on foreign soil. POB is no one to play with on American soil, or foreign soil, and Chris Matthews should know that by now.,

I am elated that POB slapped the hell out of CM there. Watch out, CM., you should know better when a man lean over to you that means he has entered your space on purpose to kick the crap out of you. Oh, CM got it. At least we at TOD got it, and we know how to push back, if you so desire on CM. Do not try to make my President look small or your country with your cheap shots called “Questions, CM. , at a leader of another country while in the presence of your POTUS and that leader, especially if you do not know all of the facts. The President is not there for gossip and small talk, he is there for world business. HZ

β€œWill, you know, will repealing it be a priority? If you came back and said, you know, that’s really the thing that’s hurting my business the most. My guess is there are other things that we can do that have a higher priority in terms of what I, what I believe might need to be done. The son of murdered Afghan peace talks chief Burhanuddin Rabbani has been appointed to replace him.

Salahuddin Rabbani will chair the country’s High Peace Council, which leads Afghan efforts to negotiate with the Taliban.

Mr Rabbani is currently ambassador to Turkey. His father, a former president and mujahideen leader, was killed by a suicide bomber last September.

Salahuddin Rabbani is US educated and worked for the Afghan mission at the United Nations in New York before taking up his post as ambassador in Istanbul.

A presidential statement said he had been elected by a majority of High Peace Council members. His appointment was aimed at “consolidating national unity and preventing foreign interference”, the statement said.

Mr Rabbani takes over after seven months during which the 70-member council has had no leader.

Jovie, it is highly unlikely that MSNBC’s owners are going to be thrilled with the soon to be ‘viral’ YouTube of President Obama smacking the poop out of #slimball_chris … πŸ™‚

VP Biden pivoted on Ed so quickly and gave long, reasoned responses and you could see that Ed realized he was dealing with an astonishingly good person, not just a Vice President who is exceptionally dedicated to equality for women – in every sense.

UK, US and Australian scientists used satellite technology to trace and count the iconic birds, finding them to number almost 600,000.

Their census technique relies in the first instance on locating individual colonies, which is done by looking for big brown patches of guano (penguin poo) on the white ice.

High resolution imagery is then used to work out the number of birds present.

It is expected that the satellite mapping approach will provide the means to monitor the long-term health of the emperor population.

Climate modelling has suggested their numbers could fall in the decades ahead if warming around Antarctica erodes the sea ice on which the animals nest and launch their forays for seafood.

Think of all of our TOD Family and their families could have had a “Bo Walk In The Dog Park” in our towns and cities celebrating Bo’s three years in WH., and going for second term. Could have dressed up with out Bo pins, ‘I Bark for Barack” or “Bo 2012.” and those cute sweaters would have been a load of fun.,

And then all the owners wear their Obama/Biden garments and then had a lovely “Bark the Facts” “Speak the Facts” and maybe invite others to join in the conversation on how we are going to get POB re-elected on Nov. 6, 2012. Shame on me. But I will come up with something else.

Oh, next month, I am having a brunch of 8 Obama/Biden supporters and each person promised to bring a vegetable dip for the table
(I am making the main dish) and one person who is still on the fence about Obama/Biden. (these are really almost ready to fall over on our side)

Listen to the banter in the beginning of this “Trade with Latin America” video again… I think PBO knew about the SS issues. I think SOMEBODY (or maybe a few somebody’s).just lost their jobs. Just sayin’… 😎

      • April 14, 2012 at 4:01 pm

Isonprize, I do believe that you are right about this one. POB knows that we have no time for “play time on the big stage.” He is Not about drama. Leave that out of his space. That is a fact. HZ

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) raised just over half a million dollars in the first quarter of 2012, her campaign announced Friday.

Bachmann’s $550,000 haul won’t set any fundraising records β€” and seems like a disappointment, considering Bachmann was able to net $13.5 million in her 2010 congressional campaign. But the Minnesota congresswoman’s campaign manager said it was still a “strong” effort considering the campaign raised funds for only two out of the three months in the quarter.

“Considering the campaign raised funds for ONLY two our of the three months in the quarter”??? Are they serious? Did they mean to make thinking people laugh at that statement? Two our of three months in a quarter equals 66% of the time! How much are they saying she would have made with all three months? That would have only netted her another $283K – nothing to brag about at all! They really think people are stupid.

    Hi Chips & everyone,

Please consider this a “Word from ‘Voices 4 Libya'” ….

The book will be released within the next couple of weeks. It is a project I had the privilege of participating, a project involving an international commmunity that formed spontaneously 1 year ago to support the people of Libya.

As noted, “All earnings will be split between the families of the martyred heroes and the children / orphans of the war.” And, that really is ALL earnings as each of us have granted the rights to what we contributed and the folk involved in editing and publishing have charged nothing for their time. So, apart from printing and shipping costs, all proceeds will go to Libyans.

The book is available for order via Amazon, but obviously more funds per book will flow to the people of Libya if the book is purchased through the web site listed above.

For those (still) wondering as to the identity of Bobfr (aka Our4thEstate), well it’ll be obvious if you read the book πŸ˜‰

If any of you have FB sites and are ok with linking to the book, that would be very helpful. Feel free to Tweet about the book and include the link, as well — http://voices4libya.com/voices-for-libya/get-the-book/

I’ll post a brief announcement when the book is released, but won’t spam any of you beyond this notice and that announcement.

    Thank you!

    Hello TOD

    Did anyone hear about this

China and Russia voted to support this as well…IMO this has every thing to do with the diplomatic effort of President Obama.

p.s Chris M should stop studying JFK and study PBO before he goes up against him.

LOL, MSM underestimate this great man at their own peril.

Hi Lisa and Donna Dem 4 Obama!! Lisa, you are going to make me do a little sin today. I am an ice cream lover to the core. Runs from my precious mother’s veins. Now, I am going to slip out and get some, Lisa. Thanks a lot. Love you, though.

And Lisa, POB is so pretty fine!!! I said the same thing this morning when I saw Chips lovely photos. Our lovely FLOTUS needs to be there. She would bring out that sparkle that she and POB share so much. And the ladies dressing in style and beautiful hues would just bring on the romance of a lovely place on earth to be right now. Love the love that we on TOD see and share about our President and First Lady. Thanks and ((((((((((((( Hugs to you Chips)))))))))))HZ

Chica, how DARE you use Myth R-money’s words against him. That was just something he said back in 1995. What in the world does that have to do with current events?

Besides, you can’t prove that the man in the video was Myth R-money. He just looked alot like him, that’s all. It wasn’t him.

This morning on UP With Chris Hayes, Gary Younge was interviewed. Gary attended the NRA meeting on Friday and gave an update on what he saw there. It was an absolutely fascinating discussion that you don’t normally hear on network/cable tv (even though it is sorely needed). Gary was very informed and a delightful guest. The most chilling thing that he said for me was that the NRA singles out four people who they feel are the biggest threat to their gun ownership: President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Justice Sonia Sotomayor. I think Gary said there was a display showing the four of them. The extreme fear and paranoia is really frightening and dangerous.

Gary Younge, columnist for The Guardian and The Nation, weighs in on America’s gun culture after reporting on the National Riefle Association Convention on Friday and UP with Chrish Hayes panelists talk about the general sense of fear for conservatives that their gun rights would one day be uprooted.

And Biden actually worked for that money.

      • April 14, 2012 at 4:13 pm

And one thing that I love about VPBiden and POB, they both have never displayed to any of us that money rules them or their love for the ‘least of us.’ That is what makes both of them so very special.

        • April 14, 2012 at 4:52 pm

I will leave with these thoughts about POB. A TOD family member mentioned a few days ago( I can’t remember who) about a photo that Chips had here for us of POB. The person mentioned that they loved POB’s eyebrows. That comment brought back a thought that I had from reading POB’s book, “Dreams from My Father”.

“You have me to thank for your eyebrows…. your father has these wispy eyebrows that don’t amount to much. But your brains, your character, you got from him.” “Dreams from My Father” by Barack Obama.

POB has stated many times through interviews that he learned from his precious and loving mother that the main points of his mother’s lessons to him were,”if you want to grow into a human being,” she would say to me, ” your’re going to need some values.” “Honesty,,” “Fairness,” “Straight talk,” and “Independent Judgement,” These were the things that POB came away with from the teachings of his beautiful mother. We all can see that now in our President. We are so blessed, and thus we will go on and think on these things as we work hard and constantly supporting a decent and compassionate man, our President, Barack H. Obama. HZ

My President puts the audience on notice that what they just heard is what passes as the Press in the United States, suggests they’re all assholes who just make up shit, then lays it on Chris Matthews that he’s one of the biggest assholes in the business by veiling the insult in “and he’s one of the best at what he does”. ZING! Oh, how I love this man.
