well, well, well, sometimes God gives more than should be legal for one person! I almost feel sorry for mitt the entitled liar who has to face President Obama – how in the world can he hope to compete?

Can anyone else manage to make the US Presidency so cool, hip, and yet so easy??

How cool is this. I remember when he was on the cover as a candidate, but has a sitting president ever been on the cover of R.S.?

He looks gorgeous. I’m so happy the general election is finally getting started. Not just so I can see POTUS crush Romney, but think of all the interviews and magazine covers we’re in store for! Love it.

    • April 24, 2012 at 8:43 pm

Interesting that Jann Wenner himself did the interview. This will be a good one.

OMG << that was for my grandkids. Anyway I have collected every magazine with Obama on the cover since 2007. I have a fav pharmacy way out in the 'burbs where they put all the PBO stuff on the bottom rack right where I can find them. The stores in my hood run out the day the mags come in. So funny.

    • April 24, 2012 at 8:58 pm

Do you collect FLOTUS mags too? She’s on the cover of May’s EBONY.

      • April 24, 2012 at 9:16 pm

yes.I am 100% nutty collect most Flotus stuff and get mad when I can’t find what I am looking for. She just did Prevention Magazine or something. I can’t find in my hood or the ‘burbs..

I am so glad I got home in time to see the President in CO. We use to live in Boulder and have been to this stadium many times. Wish I was there this time. Now I have so much to read and to listen to the speech from NC. It sure is tough to work and not be able to be here to follow the President as much as I want to. Thank you Chips and all of you are comment here.

It’s possible that the PBO camp is deliberately delaying his giving the speech so that CSPAN and CSPAN2 and some of the other networks can carry his speech when they’re done with Willard/Mankini.

Just for those eager for the resuklts from PA, with 15% of the precincts counted, Romney, running virtually unopposed with Santorum gone, is still only able to get 55% of the vote. Here he is, the presumptive nominee with barely being able to crack 50%.

Just received this email from the DCCC titled “Romney’s Speech.”

Did tonight’s Mitt Romney speech make you want to throw your remote at the TV? He must think he can distract voters from his extreme agenda by lying about President Obama. And he could be right. If Romney and the Republicans can erase their radical record and attack President Obama with enough secret SuperPAC-funded smears, then they will win in 2012. Mitt made his case. Now, it’s time for us to make ours.

Contribute $3 right now to make sure no one forgets what radical Republicans have in store for America >> Mitt called his speech, “A Better America Begins Tonight.” He should’ve named it, “Forget All That Stuff I Said Yesterday.” Now that the Republican primary race is over, Romney is trying to etch-a-sketch away his “severely conservative” policy positions. Republicans nationwide won’t be far behind. Don’t let them get away with it.

found this in the comments section at Balloon Juice:

    aimai Says:

I hang out a lot at a women’s site for dealing with Mother in laws and assorted crazy family. Mitt’s abiding characteristic is his…bitchiness. His comments are all passive agressive “digs” at the other person, orders and commands poorly disguised as “suggestions.” His “we” is always the royal “we.” I think that is one of the most disconcerting things about Romney’s public affect—he looks so masculine but his speech is all gratingly bitchy.

    • 183 CEB
      April 24, 2012 at 10:02 pm

Robme “masculine”? I don’t think so. As with everything else, he tries to fake it, but his short-comings are evident. PBO, on the other hand, is a real man in the truest sense.

I sat here listening to the same speech President Obama gave early today in North Carolina, as if I was listening to it for the first time.

  63. April 24, 2012 at 10:00 pm

another good one from Balloon Juice:

    FoxinSocks Says:

My mother and I were talking the other day and Mom pointed out Romney’s habit of putting people down and making them uncomfortable, even when he’s out and about with voters.

Take the infamous cookie incident from last week. Romney is given a batch of cookies. A normal person would be delighted, say ‘thank you’ and maybe ask who baked them. A seasoned politician would certainly do this. But not Romney. He started in that the cookies must’ve come from 7-Eleven and jokingly accused the woman who had given him the cookies of tricking him.

First of all, that’s just unforgiveably rude. But there’s also a power dynamic at play. He’s belittling the woman, making her feel uncomfortable, and apparently this guy is such a prick that he can’t help himself.

  64. April 24, 2012 at 10:01 pm

Damn, the President looks good. 😀

I finished talking to her 2 minutes before he left the podium. 😦 😦 😦 😦 ———-seriously, so danged disappointed! :tears:

    With All Due Humility

    By JM Ashby

To have a sitting president level with his audience and, with all due humility, relate directly to his constituents in this way is something President Obama is uniquely capable of doing. Because he’s been there. Because he knows the value of humility.

No bumper-sticker, television commercial, radio ad, or phony slogan can match this relation in its appeal.

President Obama isn’t someone you wish you could have a beer with, he’s someone you did have a beer with.

  69. April 24, 2012 at 10:20 pm

Knoller is either dumb as a rock or into the sauce—-he tweets that PBO will be at the U. of Iowa in Cedar Rapids tomorrow for “another student loan event” as he yawningly said. But what??? He doesn’t know that the U. of Ia. is in Iowa City? Knoller—-not that bright.

Only just able to sign in so of course I missed the second speech, but will go back to see if Ms Chips has it up yet. On my way back here I peeked at my email and saw something I know several of you will appreciate.

My afternoon and evening got completely and unexpectedly derailed. As family, I have to tell you that we have two under 10 visitors staying with us (me) for an indefinite period of time, so I may not be as attentive to you as I have been recently. Hopefully it will be a very short visit – only time will tell. Afer ‘entertaining’, etc.etc. I read them two short stories and saw them settled in bed, did some tidying up, and was settling myself to come back here when I heard sobbing. One’s sleeping and the other, older, was muffling tears. He misses his mom, he said. Ah! Life. Anyways, we had a little chat, and he seems a mite calmer for now. ….. Sooooo, what did I miss?
