Good Morning Chips. Welcome back! UT did a great job while you were away. I hope you have a great day.

Thank you Betsy! I actually have another week to go on my non-sunny break, but I left so much work to the mighty UT, I reckoned I’d forget how to post if I didn’t contribute soon. UT is a complete and total legend, blissful posts!!

Good morning everyone. I have been a fan of Krugman for years – An economist who doesn’t go with the wind, nor change the facts to suit his ideas. Economics is not an exact science – but Krugman is the closest to a proven scientist/economist I have read since forever –

” … what Republicans really want to do: repeal reality, and the laws of arithmetic in particular. ”

(good extract/discussion on BJ if you want to bypass the times)

Great piece by Krugman. Thanks, 99! Good morning to everyone…especially nice to see Chips this morning:) UT has been awesome holding down the fort for you….as I’m sure you know. Enjoy the rest of your “not sunny” vacation…trust me, I live in the desert…sometimes too much of a good thing, isn’t all that great. Sunshine EVERYDAY is overrated:)

DF, I live in TX, and we do get a lot of sunshine…while I love the warmth and the sun, you are correct, sometimes you just need a break from it. A reason to stay inside and snuggle under a blanket or just watch the rain from the safety of the indoors.

Good Morning Chips, and welcome back. UT did an outstanding job this past week and weekend. You have embraced some really excellent tyrants. 🙂 Congrats Proud on being first. I will be in and out like this past week, so this is my first foray today. Have to go take meds, shower & get ready to go for a little job to do. Have a great day everyone.

Okay all….it has been a very busy few weeks for my family.. We were renting a house for FOUR years. We paid our rent on time for the same time frame. My landlord did NOT pay his mortgage. We got a sale notice in the mail one day, and a knock on the door from a bank rep the next. We were given 4 options…take $4967.00 and move in two weeks….buy the house at a high price…..keep renting….or move in a month for $2000.00. We took option #1. We found a realtor with a finance guy. We were approve for a home loan but could not find a house in two weeks and close. We put the money in a “save for a house” fund…along with money we already had. We moved with our two rescue dogs and 1 cat…into a 3rd floor apartment for a year. It has been 30 years since we have had common walls. Wow, what a change….we are adapting pretty well. Our one huge draw back was going from a huge yard to walking big dogs on a leash. My 70 pound Siberian Huskie was not too keen on the stairs. My husband carried him up and down the stairs the first day. He had to go to work on Monday morning so it was my turn to walk the dogs. Needless to say, I could not carry the dog and walk at the same time. If he even squirmed once…I could see us both tumbling down. Thirty minutes after we started down the stairs…we made it to the bottom. I had to sit down and scoot just one stair at a time. There were stops and starts all the way down….no lease just lots of reassuring words…..He now drags me down the stairs as I run to keep up.

Off the blog again for a while…lots of unpacking to do. Peace to all!

Oh Proud! Well…it sounds like you’ll be ok after some adjustment period….but, OMG. I knew there was a lot of that kind of thing going on a few years ago ’08-’09 time frame…but I had no idea people were still up to that. Awful. I used to be a landlord and when the lease was up on our tenets, they loved our home, but decided to move because they thought they could get the same amount of house for less money ( when the bottom fell out of the market)….I remember warning them of this very thing at the time. Of course they were free to move out, but at least WE were actually paying the mortgage on our rental house! Things happen for a reason. Might not be apparent now, but this might turn out to be a good thing. The worst part…is that damn process of moving! Be good to yourself and take time for yourself. Those boxes aren’t going anywhere.

Proud, since Dec. of 2008 I have moved 4 times…I will now be moving for a 5th time, to come full circle back to where I was. I feel your pain, but it sounds like you have got it under control. We also have a dog…fortunately she is only 50 lbs. :).

Chips, you’ve worked hard every day and deserve a break. UT has done a magnificent job, but a vacation is a vacation and you need to recharge, kick back and forget about carrying the weight all the time. We all had a great time celebrating the president’s birthday–a real family party here at TOD. You created that family and we’ll keep it together while you soak in whatever atmosphere you’re in. There’s going to be plenty to do when you get back. Rest. Enjoy. And feel the love.

Jackie, you sweetheart! Knowing that the blog would be run so perfectly while I sunbathed in the rain has been a complete joy – I don’t know what I’d do without the legend that is UT, and the other blog tyrants. She’s something else. And on top of that, I kept disappearing on her, having promised to contribute a post here and there once I sorted out my internet problems in this middle-of-nowhere spot – and when I never turned up, she just kept posting. I’m even finding it hard to dislike Chelsea as much as usual because of her, that’s how much I appreciate her!

      Good morning, Africa!
These “people” are just infuriating. They don’t seem to understand they are digging their hole deeper and deeper. If they would just be honest and say, “We’ve got nothing…Mr. President, we will work with you for the betterment of the people of this great country.” There would be a HUGE sigh of relief and we could move on and get things DONE.
But they’ve got a promise to keep — they want to make our President a 2-termer.

Why would she nominate him in the first place…he’s very average at best, but the 2nd picture is definitely more creepy.

Please follow this gentleman. He has been doing some excellent sleuthing to reveal who is behind that vile account “@breakObama,” which has been threatening Goldie Taylor on Twitter.
