Let’s all keep Beau and VB Joe and the rest of the Biden family in our thoughts and prayers. I hope it’s something that can be found and is fully treatable.

Saw one mere mention that Sunny is Bo’s sister. Is this true? Inquiring minds want to know.

I don’t think so. Bo was a gift from the late sen Ted Kennedy. Sunny is from MI.

But then again, it is plausible. Sunny looks a tad different…..her face and Bo’s face look different. Could it be a Boy/Girl thing? I an totally uneducated where canines are concerned.

    • August 20, 2013 at 6:11 pm

I just know what I read on the WH website. They casually called Sunny Bo’s sister. Whether that meant by blood or not, I’m not sure. A term of endearment we dog owners often use between our adopted pets whether they are blood related or not; even our human kids are referred to as their brothers and sisters. We’re a crazy bunch. Especially empty-nesters. πŸ˜‰

Dear Rachel, Terrorism Under Veil of Journalism is Still Terrorism.

// Last night, Rachel Maddow used the first part of her show on MSNBC to go on an insane rant about Glenn Greenwald’s boyfriend (as well as partner in crime) being detained by the British authorities at London’s Heathrow airport. In the segment titled “Journalism is not terrorism,” Maddow incessantly bellyached that Britain was abusing its anti-terrorism law to try to stop journalistic activity by Glenn Greenwald and Laura Poitras in reporting on NSA activities – which, if Rachel believes is unconstitutional, she needs a crash course in the fourth amendment – disclosed to them by the American fugitive and Russian guest Edward Snowden. “Journalism is not terrorism,” Rachel lamented over and over, in the process chiding the United States for not objecting to Miranda’s interrogation despite having advanced knowledge of it.

In addition the hilarious juxtaposition of someone who generally despises the US government telling other countries what to do suddenly getting bent out of shape because the Americans didn’t tell Great Britain what to do, in her cult-like worship of Glenn Greenwald, Maddow also decided to patently ignore the essential cornerstone of journalism herself – namely the idea that before going on righteous talk-radio style rants, one ought to wait for all the facts. All the facts about why Miranda may have been detained – that, as I pointed out, his activities of transporting stolen property (US and UK classified documents) may well have been a pa /rt of instigation of espionage by his partner and Poitras – and the facts about what terrorism is under UK and US laws. //

Just finished reading that, I didn’t watch Rachel’s piece, I haven’t watched her in months & months. But it sure is telling the stupid emo-progs out there.

My country ’tis…..right, as the song goes? Perhaps, Dr. Maddow, Snowden, GG, etc should tell most of Us their definition of Country. Rachel spouts support of Troops……Vets, mostly. I would go out and bet everything I have…..that 98% of our would recoil at Manning or the acts by Snowden. Betrayal is Not what these brave men and women gave their lives for.

According to HP (I am not posting the link) Rachel Maddow (MSNBC): $7 million/year!!!!!!!

        August 20, 2013 at 6:47 pm

Wow….she started at $1M when Keith Olberman convinced MSNBC to hire her. Good for her. JoeScar is paid $6M and his ratings is not all that great.

          August 20, 2013 at 7:20 pm

Good for her? I cannot in good faith feel good about someone who earns far more than they should by aiding and abetting terrorists and using their platform to spread misinformation.

Sorry, but that’s just the way I feel about Rachel right now. She has sold herself to the highest bidder and the shame is hers.

            August 20, 2013 at 7:22 pm

Well, had I said Not good for her, then I could easily be accused of have some envy or being Jealous…….by TOD Observers…… πŸ˜‰

              August 20, 2013 at 7:25 pm

I don’t care who accuses me of envy or jealousy – please proceed.

My core belief is that Rachel has not merited the insane salary that she’s being paid on MSNBC. She is grossly overpaid, and as a result, it is diminishing the quality and integrity of her work.

      • 40 hopefruit2
        August 20, 2013 at 7:04 pm

Oh no wonder she thinks she’s smarter than PBO…she’s making $7 mil, and he’s making a measly 400K (for doing 50 times as much work)…

        • 41 Nena20409
          August 20, 2013 at 7:20 pm

          50X………Noooooooooooo. I say 50 Life Times worth.

Being president of these USA at this Time is more like FDR and Lincoln took on…..if we have to closely dare to compare.

      • August 20, 2013 at 7:17 pm

How in the world could she possible be worth that much? Unless she has millions and millions watching her every move, ridiculous!!

        • 43 hopefruit2
          August 20, 2013 at 7:21 pm

Thank you meta – you took the words right out of my brain. Nothing she has done or will do in her capacity as an MSNBC pundit justifies that insane salary.

          • August 20, 2013 at 7:27 pm

It gives a whole new meaning to the term “inflation” in anyone’s dictionary.

              August 20, 2013 at 7:29 pm

And with these inflated salaries come inflated egos, and out-of-bounds behavior. Rachel has sold herself to the highest bidder, but I hope she’s prepared to deal with the consequences (which will come sooner or later).

Seven Maine GOP Officials Leave Party In Name Of Libertarian Cause http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/seven-maine-gop-officials-leave-party-in-name …

So when they tell you that the GOP’s numbers are shrinking – that is only half the story. Most of these critters have simply joined the “Libertarian” facist movement, which is just as bad, if not worse than the mainstream GOP party. They hide in this movement where they can recruit naiive & unsuspecting “liberals,” young people, particularly young white males, and fringe members of society to launch their nasty work -while remaining hidden and “above the fray.”

And if anyone complains about his pics of Pres. Obama, then they should go to his photo website and check out the photo’s he took of former Pres. Reagan.

Thought I would just post even though I have been away for a week and am not up on what is going on. My youngest daughter 31yrs was married this weekend. It was a destination wedding at the historic Heceta Head Lighthouse, a beautiful site on the Oregon Coast. It involved a tea and arrival day with bachelorette and bachelor party, a rehearsal day with meal, the wedding day and reception, then a farewell brunch the following day. At first I thought why so much and so many days? They paid most themselves as they have been together the last two years. The 65 people attending were from Bahrain, Munich, Chicago, DC, AK, FL, MN, CT, NY, CA, TX, CA, NV, WA, and OR. There were probably other places too that I missed. I am now tired, but happy.

In a surprisingly cold, listless drone, the Mayor rattled off the standardized line on why to close schools and shutter educational programs – underutilization, budgets. Not once did he mention the fact that 80% of children in schools closed will go to schools which perform no better than the ones they attend. Not once did he talk about the impact of closing nine high schools, disrupting the lives of children in their most vulnerable years. Not once did he talk about the impact of 3,783 layoffs in a city struggling with poverty and unemployment. Not once did he talk about the quality of education in our schools when you cut every single guidance counselor and librarian and classroom aide, or when you eliminate sports, art, music, extracurriculars and other school programs. And not once did he hold Pennsylvania’s worst education governor in history accountable for these failures.

Michael Nutter…appeared on All in with Christ Hayes to talk about the crisis of Philadelphia Schools..
