Hi Chips…not sure if you had seen a comment by Jovie, but he is very sad on the passing of his beloved Lab.

        • September 24, 2013 at 10:19 am

Oh Marlz, I missed that, will check it now, utterly heartbroken for Jovie.

          • September 24, 2013 at 10:22 am

            This was his comment:

            September 24, 2013 at 7:37 am

My baby died this morning. My black lab gave me joy made me laugh everyday.
I did one thing when I got out of service, I bought the best dog best personality .
She lived until she was almost ten and I mean we were to close. Way to close we took care of each other, 2. Misfits.
And now I hav nothing in a big empty house full of her toys.
            Worst day of my life.
I don’t know what my purpose is , I don’t know what to do?
            I am scared, so scare

            • September 24, 2013 at 10:25 am

Thanks so much Marlz, just replied to him, the poor fella is in despair, unbelievably sad.

              • September 24, 2013 at 10:50 am

So sad. I am so sorry for his loss. I hope he can find solace in his memories of his beloved lab and in his friends. Most of us have been where he is at some point. Jovie, sending you comforting thoughts.

It’s been almost two years since my lab died. It was and is a grievous loss indeed. And always will be. I do have a new dog now that I love. But the bond with my Roxie will always remain. She was the sweetest being I ever encountered, rescued from an animal shelter. I had her for ten years too and so can empathize with the profundity of the loss. The only thing I can say is that there is still life and we learn to share our love with another pet pal who needs a home.

Dearest Jovie, wrap your arms around someone and have a good cry.

Take the time you need to grieve.

Then remember that she lived a beautiful life — loved and loving and that love never dies.

She would want you to be happy again. Make your new purpose finding a way to do that.

            • September 24, 2013 at 11:27 am

              Dear Jovie…

why do folks need to make a disclaimer when praising PBO…grrrrrr

      • September 24, 2013 at 12:02 pm

So they can show they are working to be objective and not just Obots. And I know no one who hasn’t disagreed with PBO onsomething, but many seem to think that for those who approve of him, he walks on water.

      • 17 ericfive
        September 24, 2013 at 1:26 pm

This caveat appeared shortly after PBO’s election, it makes no sense to me (who in this life have you agreed with 100% of the time?). I think it is a response intended to “disarm” the Obama haters who label anyone who dares support PBO as an unthinking “Obot”. I can’t think of any other leader whose supporters feel obligated to make such a caveat. This mindset can also be found in the fact that writers of articles favorable to PBO feel the need to throw in some kind of negative spin or comment. I can count on one hand the number of articles about clear PBO victories, that don’t contain the aforementioned negative spin or comment. It is almost like they feel the need to apologize for complimenting PBO.

Is it me? My memory is that in years past CSPAN at least carried much of the UN. Today live TV on CSPAN 1 seems it will begin and end with POTUS.
Are the MSM playing down the UN now that PBO is doing so well in foreign policy?
Maybe I’m just paranoid but if President Obama was beating the war drums might there be more coverage?

An Australian climate change body scrapped by the new government has been relaunched as a non-profit organisation reliant on public donations.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott axed the Climate Commission, set up by the previous government, last week.

But the group resurrected itself as the Climate Council, saying it hoped “Obama-style” public donations raised online would keep it open

Australia is the developed world’s worst polluter per head of population.

The Climate Commission was set up to provide “an independent and reliable source of information about the science of climate change” under former Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

      Masterful speech by President Obama.

Delivered stern warnings to those who do not act in a democratic fashion, yet offered the true vision of what America is all about.

I cannot believe that any young person who hears this speech, regardless of where that person lives would not be inspired to strive for the betterment of their country and the world.

So comprehensive, so consistent with his and America’s values.

      Thank you Mr. President.

“But the network still hasn’t apologized and made it clear to its viewers that it understands why Todd’s refusal to fact-check Republicans is so problematic, so today we’re escalating our campaign.

Today, with your help, we’ll send them a message they can’t ignore. Can you take a few minute s to call NBC News and demand a public apology for Chuck Todd’s on-air claim that it isn’t the role of journalists to separate fact from fiction in political debates?”

Call NBC News and make sure it knows that correcting Republican lies is part of its job. Click here for a sample script and the number to call. ( http://act.credoaction.com/call/nbc_chuck_tdd/ )

Not sure where the best place is to offer my heartfelt condolences of Jovie’s loss.

I know what he is going through; I lost my favorite cat more than 20 years ago and still miss her. I’ve had many other cats since then, but there is no other than can replace her in my heart.

So it is with Jovie, who lost his best friend.

So, so, sorry, Jovie. You bring TOD so many smiles with your irreverent comments.

Let us help with your grieving process.

    What a speech!
This is a great time to be alive and have PBO as the Commander-In-Chief.
He has earned this title not by what he says, but who he is and what he believes.
    He believes in PEACE.
So do I. So should we all. We do have to hate. It is not in our DNA. It is a choice.
    I choose PEACE.
    Thank you, Mr. President.
May God bless you and your family and keep you real good. We need you for such a time as this.
    Have a great day everyone!

      Agree wholeheartedly.

A perfect balance of reality tempered with hope, a perfect distillation of America, its role in the world and role of youth around the world.

All of President Obama’s speeches are great, but there was something about this one, the way he delivered it, that makes it stand out from all the rest.
