West coast Scandal fans: the winter finale is sick; especially the last 2 minutes; enjoy. How will we last until 2/27/2014?

It was INSAAAAAAAAANE. Shonda Rhimes is one of the best writers out there. I was only 8 minutes into the mid-season finale and I was searching for Oxygen.

When Rowan read Fitz for filth, I was cheering like mad.

The last few minutes of the episode had my jaw dropping.

This is only the mid-season finale. 2014 is going to be craaaaazy!

Bravo, Shonda Rhimes. She brought her A+++++ game and delivered.

Role of the news is to promote the GOP – did nobody explain this to the ACA beneficiaries?

Totally hit the nail on the head, 99ts! To be honest, we must stop treating U.S. corporate media as if they were legitimate news media. As far as I am concerned, most of the U.S. so called mainstream media are acting like a propaganda arm of the GOP right wingers. How in the world can any one think that Ed. Henry, or Jon Karl or Chuck Todd, or Lara Logan, or Major Garrett, are legitimate journalists.

Today I went to the local Fred Meyer Store. As I was leaving, in the large vestibule entrance/exit space, I heard an absolutely angelic voice singing Gloria in Excelsis Deo from “Angles We Have Heart on High”. I thought perhaps it was a recording of Christmas music. I turned to see a Salvation Army bell-ringer with his red tripod bucket collecting contributions for the poor. Instead of ringing a handbell he was singing heartfully with his beautiful voice. He was a young, handsome red-haired man, and he had an absolutely angelic voice. And it drew on the echo chamber acoustics of the space. Well I was so moved, and am already inclined to give to the Salvation Army at Christmas, so I dropped a $20 in the red bucket. He smiled and bowed but kept on singing his Gloria refrain.

We should arrange for Megyn Kelly to get a whole truckload of those chocolate Santas delivered. She’ll probably have a little faint when she opens the door. Then we could take back the chocolate and divvy it up.

    The end.

Had posted this earlier today ….

… and I was serious. That person is intellectually and ethically compromised. The only sympathetic response is to assume she is psychologically impaired and needs considerable professional help.

It all a stage….I do not believe that she thinks Santa Clause really exists…it is all a charade to produce the desired uproar and it did…

      • December 13, 2013 at 2:07 am

If your premise is true, then she is intellectually and ethically compromised by willfully distorting reality. And, such behavior should elicit and uproar. If it didn’t, those silent are enablers – as has always been the case in human history when people did not call out the atrocious lies, distortions and other manifestations of an attempt to establish authoritarian control over the masses.

^^^should elicit AN uproar^^^ not “and” …. time to stop making typos and try to get some rest …. wishing all of you a fabulous Friday ….

Bob …these things are the new norm…and sad to say not much of the electorate pays close attention to what is being said or done…hence we are always trying to close the gate after the horses have gotten out…

I see that the Senate had another all-night session overnight. Of course it’s being billed as a GOP protest/slow down.

Reid said today the Senate would vote on the budget deal, legislation authorizing Defense Department operations and a second group of nominees before recessing for the year, probably late next week.

The second batch of nominees probably will include Federal Reserve chairman candidate Janet Yellen. Reid didn’t identify which nominees would be considered next week.

Meanwhile, Republicans on Dec. 10 used a parliamentary maneuver to slow Senate Finance Committee consideration of John Koskinen to be commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service.

Only two senators questioned Koskinen before the hearing recessed. Republicans then invoked a rule that bars committees from meeting more than two hours after the Senate starts work, which put off the hearing for a day.

The hearing concluded yesterday with no senators voicing opposition to Koskinen. Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus, a Montana Democrat, set tomorrow for a committee vote, with confirmation by year end for the “critical” position.

“Michigan State Senator Slams GOP Legislature Over ‘Rape Insurance’”

On Wednesday, the Michigan State Senate passed a bill that requires a woman to purchase separate health insurance prior to getting an abortion.

One lawmaker, Democratic State Sen. Gretchen Whitmer, used her time on the floor on Wednesday to not only express her strong opinions against this bill, but to point out that this, in effect, is ‘rape insurance.’ Her argument is that a woman who becomes pregnant via rape should have bought special insurance for such a tragic event.

Good Friday Morning TOD. If we’re wondering where some of the GOP, teabagger talking points come from, look no further than msn.com. Yesterday mornings big story was about the plane crash death of the woman who “certified President Obama’s Birth Certificate” – making it all sound quite ominous. Today they’ve cast President Obama in the “Lie of the Year” on Healthcare.
