HILARIOUS!!!!! What a way to wake up this morning as I wait patiently for my coffee….they better have been saying “Bruuuuuuuuce” at the end of the song and not booing 🙂 Great video! Morning everyone

    Morning chips,
I totally enjoyed this video. I have a question…. What was the tune President Obama was whistling in the Cabinet Meeting?
    Take Care
    Carly 🙂

Morning Carly! I still don’t know what the tune was, I have to go back through the comments to see if anyone solved the mystery!

Have no fear the WHPC idiots might ask Jay Carney, that might be the first question they ask. And if Ed Henry don’t get the answer he might jump up and walk out.

Good Morning Chips, Danny, VC, Cindy, Carly Lewis & Desertflower. That video was just a hoot. What fun to watch and start my day. I have been up for awhile taking care of business. Thanks for the video!! I love Jimmy Fallon, especially because he’s an Obama supporter (not only had Michelle on with the Mom Dancing, I also read he attended one of those super expensive dinners that raise money for the DNC before the last election).

Vanity Fair has a cover story on Jimmy this month which includes his history of doing bits like this with famous singers, and how he holds his own musically. Can you imagine what a challenge it is to get up there with Springsteen, play the guitar, sing the song etc???

He seems like such a good guy, not a crab like Jay Leno. David Letterman is also crabby but I like his politics better. Don’t know how I’ll find the energy to stay up to watch the show, though.

PS about the “booing” at the end – I am 99% sure that’s the classic response to a Bruce Springsteen appearance and they are saying “Bruce……..”, not booing.

    • January 15, 2014 at 7:43 am

Morning Elly! Every time my mother sees Bruce on TV, she always asks ‘why are they booing him?’ 😆 It was definitely “Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce” in that video!

Cindy, thanks for asking. I’ve been alternating long walks with gym workouts for about six years now. When I do the exercise, the back pain eases. When I don’t, it hurts. Big Motivator to keep it going. Today is gym day, so will be off soon to hit the machines.

            January 15, 2014 at 8:24 am

            Good for you Jackie…..
Keep up the hard work. I suffer from back pains due to a 12 year old car accident. I never find time to exercise, which is what I am suppose to do for healing. You have encouraged me to get up, and just do it!! My schedule is crazy but without our health, at the end of the day, we have nothing.

            Have fun on the machines… : )

Cindy, “just do it” is the key. If I think about it, I won’t do it. So I make it like putting clothes on or brushing my teeth–I make it routine, rain, shine, sleet, etc. Husband and I even walk on Christmas morning–early before anyone or anything stirs. The only time I miss is if we have to be out of town for the day.

              • 56 Cindy
                January 15, 2014 at 9:19 am

Jackie, I am starting today. I’ve put it off for too long. I teach during the day (most days), and tutor right after school, lots of sitting (too much) and my legs hurt and I know that it is from the sitting and no exercise. All of this adds to my back problems but when I use to walk, I felt great most of the time. I am going to follow in your foot steps. If it’s to be…..it up to me. Thank you for encouraging me to; just do it! : )

    Good Morning.

Here is my thought on that picture of Christie with Wildstein and others in Manhattan on Sept 11. I think they must have helicoptered over there because of the traffic jam on the bridge. Is he going to claim they never looked down and saw that mess ?

    The man is lying….

    • 59 Cindy
      January 15, 2014 at 8:05 am

      Good morning Linda,

Apparently the media loves a liar. We need to send out twitter and e-mail encouragement to Dr. R.Maddow, she is relentless in getting to the bottom of this. I believe that she will crack this before the Jersey investigators. She knows Christie is lying and she is out to answer the proverbial question…..WHY?

She showed the pictures last night-this guy is slime, and he said he hasn’t been around the guy Wildstein (he can count on 1 hand). In your face Christie the liar, there he is with the very person he claims he doesn’t really hang out with. LIAR!!!!! They were all celebrating-no doubt.

      • 60 Linda
        January 15, 2014 at 8:14 am

It has also been reported that they were on the Baseball Team together in HS after Christie said he really did not know him in High School.

        • 61 Cindy
          January 15, 2014 at 8:21 am

I hope his mountain of lies, that “he” built, will crush him. Those who know something should speak up now. He has called his close “friends” liars, they are out of work, and will probably suffer in terms of getting reputable work.

I would throw the towel in and tell everything about this lying pack of wind, and suffer any consequences that I have to. He is walking a tight rope; keep up the work Detective R.Maddow, I believe that you are getting close to the truth.

    OBAMA’S FAULT!! http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/01/15/us-worldbank-economy-idUSBREA0E01D201401

    U.S. leads Global Growth

The World Bank on Tuesday raised its forecast for global growth for the first time in three years as advanced economies started to pick up pace, led by the United States.

The rosier outlook suggests the world economy is finally breaking free from a long and sluggish recovery after the global financial crisis.

For many reasons…just a MORNING MUST READ. Pass it on. We have descended into madness.

    • 72 jackiegrumbacher
      January 15, 2014 at 8:13 am

DF, we reached madness the day sick Americans decided it was a good idea to put destructive saboteurs who hate their government in the US House and Senate. I have never in my life seen so-called “representatives” of the people so determined to destroy the US and its democracy. The resistance to any kind of sensible gun legislation is rooted in this destructiveness. That passive Dems and Republican moderates go along with this is a sign of their abject cowardice. I don’t know how to wake people up. Even seemingly sensible Republican voters (on the surface) will go along with electing crazy, ignorant people because they reflexively vote R and they don’t want to rock the boat. Some days I really despair. As an example, we have a HORRIBLE governor in PA who is literally destroying the state and making it unlivable for young people and families. But IGNORANT Republicans say they won’t vote for a Dem candidate–even a good one–if they come from Philadelphia!!!!! The stupidity BURNS.

Has to be the media jackie – supporting the “macho” man (Christie a good example). Real men shoot wild animals, real women stay home and have their babies.

I think what shocked me more than the popcorn was the news that the latest school shooter was a 12 year old boy. This is no adult running amok – this is a kid who has heard that the way to solve your problems is with a gun. He probably hears that in the media every single day – and then the good guys with the guns wonder why this is so.

We know this is President Obama’s fault…….

desertflower, the repukes are evil, and they could care less about those who are in need. It’s time for the people to rise up. I wish millions would converge on the steps of the repuke senators and congress to let them know……we are NOT going to accept this anymore. They will work less than 100 days this year and collect full pay-with benefits.

Something is terribly wrong with this…..getting paid to do nothing but fight the President. I will be there if anyone ever plans this.

A great blog as usual from stonekettle – if you haven’t yet seen it. Just confirmed why I haven’t been on an airplane since Dec 2002.

    http://www.stonekettle.com/2014/01/but-aside-from-that-mrs-lincoln.html – a veritable rant – a worthy description of business today

“This is why I snort in derision when people write me about how “if government would just get out of the way, the free market and competition would fix everything.” B..sh.t. Obvious b..sh.t. Provable b..sh.t. History shows over and over and over and over that if business is allowed to operate unregulated it dumps toxic waste in the rivers, kills its employees or reduces them to indentured serfs, markets deadly products, and robs its customers blind at every opportunity. And you don’t have to look any further than the modern airline industry to see it.”

Here’s an article about Jimmy Fallon that you’ll really like …

In the moments before that moment, Bill Cosby was being the current and oldest version of Bill Cosby, wading into the audience and talking to some ordinary citizen, pretending not to realize he wasn’t talking to Jimmy Fallon. Cosby can play the doddering old fool, of course, as he does routinely, because he remains sharp and is confidently aware of his own sharpness. He is one of the outstanding comic minds in American television history. And he has an easy rapport with Fallon, at least on our TV screen; the two men have sat together several times before. Fallon, perhaps not surprisingly, does a perfect Cosby impression that never fails to leave me doubled over. I feel as though I can laugh without guilt at Fallon and his bag of tricks, like his skits with Timberlake, because they never require his being mean or cruel or cynical for them to work. Fallon performs that increasingly rare form of comedy—one that is born from love and leaves nobody the loser.

I do not understand why they benefit from turning the US into a 3rd world country – is it simply hate for all mankind? They have every conceivable consumer item that man could want – probably 10 of each – like McCain & his houses – why is it so important to make people suffer? Is it like Christie – retribution against anyone who just might want to introduce some controls on the digging up of mountains?

They are not young – they will die – and they will leave the world a much worse place than when they entered it.

99ts, they were born very rich and could have done much good in the world. They are over 80 and one of them is battling cancer, but they have decided that the legacy they want to leave to the world is one of hatred and destruction of all that is fair and democratic. They are perfect example of the idea that you can be rich and have nothing, if you were born without a soul. Their father was a fascist and Nazi enabler and the fruit fell very close to the tree.

Yes. Which is why I’d love to see Michelle in particular tell ‘a’ rude reporter to stuff it, BUT in the classiest way possible. I’m dreaming of such a slap accompanied with a smile that said reporter won’t realize the hit until later. I’m reminded of the first Ed Henry slap – I waited to speak until I knew what I was talking about(or something such) – that I don’t think Henry himself has as yet absorbed. I believe Michelle can do it too. I’ll wait.

    Good morning all.
Do I have this right? The budget deal is 99% sure to be signed without further threat? I read that the 57,000 Head Start seats are definitely assured? Since i am holding my breath for this to be true if anyone here at TOD can confirm I would be grateful.

OMG!!!!! The ACA number is almost at Ten Million!!! If it was my call I’d be setting off fireworks from sea to shining sea when that happens. My hope is that POTUS requests primetime TV to celebrate this milestone. Am I making too much of this,TOD?

I get that lots of folks here aren’t part of the Bruce Springsteen experience even though they are aware that Bruce and his band were marvelous PBO supporters during the campaigns. Trust me on this one, folks, as a veteran of many Springsteen concerts. What Bruce is saying about Christie dooms what ever little bit might have been left of the Governors chances with ordinary Republicans. Christie is so Over.

    Have a good day TOD.

  31. January 15, 2014 at 10:33 am

Howdy all you O’s!!! What another great getting up day in TODville!

Did I miss anything, other than the Christie Cramp on the Ramp, Iran Sanction Sanity, Bob Gates Big Gulp, and Pundits on Parade?

I’ve decided that sub-zero temperatures and knee-deep snow is not conducive to outdoor running and exercise. Even my little critters and family of deer have been scarce. When I try to coax them out, they just rustle around in the forest going, ‘are you crazy, we ain’t even try to freeze our fur off!’ So this week, I joined a fitness gym and see how that goes. One thing I did notice is that my furry friends can’t hold a candle to the species that one finds indoors. Too bad, I can’t use my coaxing skills on them.

Take care all you peeps, gotta go iron, er…..pump iron.

    • January 15, 2014 at 10:47 am
