OK, for the second time, I’m catching up on the previous thread, only to realize way late, that I’ve been left in the dust. I’m either going to have to lace up my running shoes to keep up, or just give up and do the chores and errands that I’ve been trying to do since I logged in this morning.

      January 15, 2014 at 12:57 pm

IMO, Cookem, you should dust off your running shoes. It’s been a while since you’ve won here and I suspect your old tutor would be quite encouraged to see if you still have what it takes. I remember she used to remark that you were quite a good student ….back in the day. Just saying.

LOL! I’ve admittedly been remiss in going for the gold. It’s probably because I haven’t been doing any stamina inducing exercises since the winter cold snap. Actually, my intention was to go first thing this morning to the fitness gym that I signed up for Monday. However, here I sit on TOD street watching traffic go by.

‘Nough said, off I go for real. Maybe after a short run and some muscle building stuff, I’ll be back in form for pushing through the gate for the win.

Ok, ok, I know that hanging around for a few more minutes shouldnt hurt. The problem with that is, it’s lunch time. If I eat now, all bets for the gym are off. Maybe I’ll catch the video later, I’m sure PBO won’t mind. Afterall, I’m only doing what FLOTUS recommends, ‘let’s move!’.

Also too, doesn’t PBO always seem to be either singing a tune or replaying an inside joke in his mind. Look at the second pic where he leads the Secret Service guys. He’s clearly giving himself or someone a ‘let’s do this’ type pep rally talk.

[Hope this hasn’t been posted here! For a giggle!]:

In what appears to be a very clever marketing trick for an upcoming movie ‘Devils Due‘, animatronics experts rigged up an incredibly frightening looking baby, put it in a pram, then let it loose in New York City. The results are absolutely hilarious, and f**king terrifying:

Their clever marketing strategy may just misfire. I would guess that very few, if any, of those people in the promo who were shocked would feel any warm desire to go see this movie. I know I wouldn’t even if it was a free premiere or whatever! There is entertainment and then there’s this, IMO.

The movie sounds dumb. The promo gave me a little twinge — what if one of those passers by had health issues and got scared out of his/her wits?

WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) – A federal judge on Wednesday upheld the health insurance subsidies that are available in the 34 U.S. states that declined to establish their own online marketplaces, rejecting a lawsuit that said the subsidies were unlawful.

U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman in Washington, D.C., wrote in the opinion that the subsidies were consistent with the healthcare law President Barack Obama signed in 2010.

So both JScar, Bernake(sp), Tom Brokaw, etc are saying per Mediaite that Bridgegate is Not worth the coverage? Hmm? They didn’t say that about the HealthCare glitches, Benghazi, IRS, the fake Congressional Hearings, Elliot Spitzer, Wiener, Clinton and Monica, etc. Another way these DC/NY Journos intimidate their fellow Pundits from covering the GOP blunders while the feast and are cheerful when Covering stories against Dems.

This is why I stated earlier that we should send some positive feedback, positive energy and encouragement to Detective R.Maddow. The others are going to allow the bully jokester (morning joe) to move them away from this story. Pretty soon, it will vanish. Dr. Maddow is on to something, and I don’t think the jokester can interfere with what she is doing, but he starts early in the morning, covering Christie’s fat >>>. She is doing an awesome job and I want to see the end results. We should pile on from the twitter universe, e-mails and letters; letting her know that we the people want the truth, and we need her to continue this story.

She is loving every moment of uncovering Christie’s lies but the jokester is trying to overshadow everyone and convince the voters that Christie did nothing wrong.

Remember; Christie is their “great white hope” who will take it to the black man who is in charge, and live in, according to them, their White House. He is the one who is going to give them, according to their thinking, their America back.

Nena, here’s the thing, it’s not for Morning Joke, Bernake, or Tom Brokaw to decide what is worth coverage. As you said, none of them said that these fake scandals of the GOP was worth the coverage. The fact is Morning Joke is terrified this bridgegate is a big deal.

[ISO Ms. Karma Isa-Bitch. Your MIA status has expired.]:

The 900,000 poorest working families in North Carolina just got another tax hike from the conservatives who swept state legislature elections in 2010.

The change took effect at the beginning of 2014, meaning that the taxes those families file this spring will be the last to feature the state’s tax break for the working poor. The provision, known as the Earned Income Tax Credit or EITC, will also be 10 percent less generous in its final year. State-level EITCs work by tacking on an additional benefit to the federal EITC, and the law repealing North Carolina’s EITC for 2014 also cut the credit from 5 percent to 4.5 percent of the federal benefit.

[…..] Along with the disappearance of the EITC, low-income North Carolinians will be paying higher taxes in order to pay for a tax cut for the richest people in the state. Republicans moved from a two-tiered, progressive income tax system to a flat tax rate of 5.8 percent. A person who earns a million dollars per year will get a roughly $10,000 tax cut thanks to that move, but the bottom 80 percent of the income distribution will see their taxes rise. That means that four out of five taxpayers in the state were going to pay more next year even before the EITC repeal.

    There’s even more here: http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2014/1/15/122242/057

      • 57 utaustinliberal
        January 15, 2014 at 3:04 pm

That’s not the underlying point about the study. There is nothing “misleading.” Black fathers have been given a bad rap by society – mostly by white society – and here is evidence that they pull their weight, that they’re involved in their children’s lives, that they contribute positively to child rearing and aren’t bums.

That’s the point of the study.

TRENTON — A former federal prosecutor who led the case against former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has been named as special counsel to a special Assembly committee formed specifically to look into September’s George Washington Bridge lane closures.

I hope we will, TMG. It can be done privately with another TODobot we have gotten to know /feel ‘comfortable’ with. After taking so long to discover that Sue in MN was seriously ill, and later that she was gone was jarring for me and for others here. I’m not suggesting anything negative re D, but, heck, I want to know if she’s alright!!! We have evolved together to be more than ships passing in the night. At least, that’s how I feel.

Florida authorities are looking into the account of a woman who says retired police captain Curtis Reeves confronted her about texting in the movie theater where he allegedly gunned down man for the same thing two weeks later.

Jamira Dixon told reporters that she and her husband were waiting for a screening of “The Hobbit” at the Cobb Grove 16 cinema on Dec. 28 when Reeves, 71, got annoyed.

“He became just upset about the whole situation and kept staring and giving us dirty looks,” Dixon said.

“He gets up. He’s like, ‘Can you do me a favor. Can you please just stop texting.”

Regarding Rachel Maddow and her good work on Christie, I emailed her last night thanking her for her work, and also thanking her for her presentation on West VA, and its mess. I asked her to keep working on that one and publicizing it as it is so detrimental to so many people, and shows exactly what the Koch brothers are.

I also wrote the DSCC and asked them to start putting out ads showing the Koch brothers as the manipulators behind the Republicans, and stating that they want to be the unelected rulers of the country and to show WVA and the results of a Koch empire.

Then, after I wrote them, I got a call from OFA, which is rebuilding and redirecting their efforts for the 2014 campaign. I made a small pledge, and told the young man I had a suggestion for them. I told him what I had written to the DSCC, but since I was talking, I could elaborate a bit more. I asked him to please pass this on, he said he would, and that what I was saying gave him chills. I assured him it was chillworthy and we need to combat this horror happening anywhere else. People need to know they are electing Koch puppets, not free people, not even Republicans. I’m going to write the DNC too with this idea.
I can see in my mind some very startling, grabbing visuals for such ads.
I don’t tweet, but I think some of you who are so good with tweets could get this idea started.
