How can I get rid of Chuck Todd? I think I am going to make this my mission. I don’t think he belongs on national TV, especially as a political director of a major network, shaping and shading all political events and issues. Even mr. dotster, after listening to Todd put forth the most negative SOTU preview ever, including calling the climate a “dire backdrop” to the speech tonight, said “It’s so obvious that he just hates President Obama.” And no, I’m not going to stop watching the news which I have done for 60 years—–I’m going to keep watching because I want to know what is being reported to the public. I think we need to know what is going on so we can be aware and respond appropriately. The major networks still have huge audiences—-in the millions.

He’s just incredible Dotster, I would give anything to know what’s made him up the anti-PBO hysteria to bizarre levels in the last few months especially. And something is definitely going on.

Remember he thought for sure he was going to be Romney’s press secretary…now he is…well…nothing!

My guess, hanging around JoeScar. This guy was not like this when he was working for a DC periodical, Roll Call and was a constant C-SPAN go to person. It was under that disguise that the late Tim Russert hired him and brought him to NBC/MSNBC. I knew then he was a rightie, but he was not overtly biased. Today, Todd and Gregory are just the worst at NBC/MSNBC for they are masquerading as OBJECTIVE presenters.

I am going to keep repeating this until Chips or NW/UTA or other BT tell me to stop.

MSM’s worst nightmare is for Dems to control both houses of Congress after Nov 4.

IMHO it’s not ODS, it’s the corporate masters/Kochs.

This onslaught began in earnest last year and will reach a fury pitch right up until 2014.

But the MSM will strangle on their own overreach. #2014LandslideDems

Since so many here recommended “The Bridge” I ordered it. It was on my doorstep when I got home so I got comfy on the sofa and read the first few pages. I like the authors style but it will have to wait until after SOTU.
Thank you, Chips for providing the link.

I just have to sit back and laugh at this point. The whole media needs to take a megadose of Valium and calm the hell down. Sheesh….

    Good Evening, TODVille.

I left for a couple of hours and … so many posts happened. You are such a bright group of people.

I, too, am excited tonight. I wish my POTUS well. And I know that I will not be let down. As for the 5 (and counting) wacko-birds who planned to give various rebuttals, I have no time for them. I must turn my evaluation of 20 grant applications by 8am in the morning.

Every hour in the U.S. a child or teen is rushed to the hospital because he/she has been shot. 1.7 million kids live in homes with unlocked, loaded guns.

Hehe..I don’t think I’ll ever see a tweet saying this: “I’m excited about the #SOTU rebuttals. I love the GOP.”

Good evening, TOD. Thanks for all of the prayers, condolences and good wishes yesterday. Actually slept most of the day, so now I’m well rested and ready for the SOTU. Will look forward to reading later all that I missed today.

Wow—look what’s happening in Alabama—just saw 800 kids still stuck at schools in Birmingham—-buses can’t go. This winter has been insane. We’ve had “dangerously cold” below zero temps here in Illinois with warnings to “stay inside”, schools closed, snows about every day.

    HF, And you NEVER will!
I know our President will do exceptionally great tonight! I can just feel it…..
I just wish that he would use charts and graphics 1. Show everything that he has tried to push. 2. Everything they have blocked. 3. What he is going to do without them.

The people need to see for themselves the evil forces he has been up against from day one. He has worked hard and gracefully to move this country forward. I am truly grateful for all he has done and will continue to do. My favorite DJ is healing fine and lots of popcorn and root beer floats…..I lit my candle. All is well. All the hypocrites and evil doers will be exposed tonight.
I am going to enjoy this!

Is Chris Christie still down south? He better not have created this traffic jam!
GOP would do anything to stop people from watching the President’s speech tonight thanks to Chuck Todd.

Hi Alice! Yep, we’ve got it big-time. Ice is the big problem though. Lots of folks stuck on freeways. Kids stuck at schools, will be spending night. Just heard from some guys where I work, they’re spending the night in the office. Yikes!

In all the dopey commentary today I have heard no mention of the establishment of a major social welfare parogram. ACA. Others tried to get it for 100 years. They failed. President Obama did it. Millions of Americans are better off today because of POTUS. Not a mention.
Just idiotic braying about 2013 was a wasted year and how Dems might lose the Senate.

Each day the corruption and dishonesty of the media gets clearer and clearer.

Can this go on endlessly or is there some kind of tipping point?

It’s a success Vicki – the pundits don’t want success – the only think they like more than failure is a massive natural disaster.

They never discuss man made disasters – the media has IGNORED the WV water issues – but the storms, snow, etc etc – they love a good disaster.

In my world a cyclone is coming (well north of me). The media is just loving to talk about all the bad things that might happen.

    Okey-dokey! I’m showered, fed, pj-ed, awake, and all ready for the TOD-SOTU par-tay! On my way in, I got a heart-kick noticing that our master DJ was on hand! {{{dudette!}}}

Dudette, mi dear, I don’t expect to see you dancing, but it sure is niiiiiiice you are able to join us! Now, control yourself please; despite the temptation to shake a leg I hope you’ll borrow Chips’ throne and sit yourself down quietly, giving a royal wave every now and then.

I have not read this blog before. It is definitely not safe for work or delicate ears, but definitely worth reading. Here’s his take on the SOTU
