I first “met” some of you (amk, rikyrah, LDS and possibly others whose names have changed) on “The Field” a political blog on the 2008 primary written by Al Giordano. Al has posted his thoughts on Facebook on the tragic death of Phillip Seymoor Hoffman and with Al being such a beautiful writer I thought it worthwhile to share here. RIP Mr. Hoffman, a character actor like no one else. https://www.facebook.com/algiordano

Forus, I wasn’t able to read any of Al’s remarks at the link. It won’t let you read what he said unless you’re a friend.

Oh so sorry about that. For some reason Al has stayed off Twitter but is fairly active on Facebook which lol seems out of character for him. If you can follow him on Facebook it’s worth it. He has largely checked out of US politics since POTUS got elected (he was a HUGE supporter and helped me to understand primary politics) but he does write about it occasionally. He was very good friends with Pete Seeger from his protest days so his recent posts were terrific sharing some of those memories and photos.

Forus, I am a big fan of Al’s and used to check in every day with “The Field” to get my daily dose of Chicken Little shots. Nice to know you were there as well. Al is reponsible for the sanity of a lot of people during those tumultous campaign days.

We need you around here, and even seeing PBO in all his Lovely Being is not worth the price you will pay for watching this sham. PBO is divinely equipped to manage this kind of crap (no, I am NOT watching), I’m sure he knew what was coming. He may not be able to resist letting these people keep setting themselves on fire!! They all know it’s over, let them burn. We will rise from the ashes like the Phoenix! Now, have I succeeded?? Cos I was about to say Later Y’all, when I saw your distress!!

O’Reilly is being the jerkiest, unsurprisingly. Obamacare—biggest mistake ever?, should have fired Sebelius, quoted some AP poll that only 6% satisfied with Ocare—?, biggest mistake ever that PBO told people they could keep their plans, Benghazi!!!—biggest mistake ever? PBO said he’s trying to answer if Bill will just listen. IRS!!!! Corruption!!! This is a Rt.Wing Issa Top Ten list. Obama responding smartly, making Bill look like a bullie doofus.

Bill O’Reilly’s agenda and attack questions show that GOP is frozen in time stuck in their crap and can’t come up with anything relevant or intelligent to talk about.
They must think this will work for them
I do not think it will work any better than it did in 2008 and 2012.

    • 68 jackiegrumbacher
      February 2, 2014 at 5:01 pm

Vicki, it also shows they’re feeling desperate. You don’t just throw petty crap at the nation’s president if you’re confident about your party’s positions. And that’s all O’Reilly is–a party flack.

  32. 69 Virginia
    February 2, 2014 at 4:55 pm

One of the most USELESS wastes of time I’ve every seen. O’Reilly WASTED a sit down with the President of the United States to pick over “scandals” that the 95% of the country has either forgotten, or never cared about in the first place. THEN he has the nerve to quote a bogus poll (which the President smartly ignored).

I’m assuming O’Reilly’s giant sized ego, and monumental ARROGANCE, made him think he was going to bluster the President into admitting some of that right wing claptrap. (And what was with that ignorant “letter”???) Instead O’Reilly walks away with NOTHING. He only proved that he is WAY out of his league trying to browbeat this President.

I think it’s very usefull to have POTUS do these O’Reilly “interviews”. For the millions of O’Reilly followers they get to see POTUS answering all his blowhard questions and punching holes in all his conspiracy theories. I have friends who watch Fox and like O’Reilly and they always say they have respect for POTUS in being willing to talk to the other side.

Yes, every time PBO does an interview, whether it’s with FOX or with some other media outlet, he always comes out looking great, and the interviewer looking silly/petty. I remember the Chuck Todd interview when some people were afraid that it would be a waste of time, but it wasn’t. 🙂

I can picture PBO walking away from that interview, flicking the dust off his shoulder, undoing his tie and relaxing with the SuperBowl. Be willing to bet he doesn’t give the Reilly clown another thought–just like that fly he caught and squashed in midair. Our president operates in the super major leagues of world politics and he just gave an over-the-hill minor league player a few minutes of his time. The Reilly clown was so full of himself, he didn’t even know he got squashed.

At least Billo didn’t interrupt pres Obama 72 plus times this time.

It would be odd had POTUS stopped the interview since he had done it since 2009. Those tweeting that every POTUS had done this are LYING. This Is Pres Obama’s Thing for he is a sports enthusiast.
