Not funny, but can’t be said enough ….

… his screed in the NY Times should earn him unrelenting derision, as a warm up for what he really deserves.

Highly recommend the HBO program Vice—–one of the best—–if not THE best on teevee——going on location, telling truths. Just were in Afghanistan, telling the sad tale there—–the country is a shambles—– the most corrupt in the world—-all the money we have spent there and there is really nothing of worth to show for it. We built a $300 power plant which cannot/is not being used—-for multiple reasons. We supplied a whole fleet of planes and helicopters for them to provide their own defense and they are sitting rusting—-only 7 people know how to fly any of them. The Taliban is moving in for U.S. forces move out, are in control for all intents and purposes, had a big operation going on at the border—-disassembling U.S. military equipment and selling it to Pakistan—–and then ordering and billing U.S. for the replacements of what they just took apart. It’s so bad, you can’t believe it. We have spent over $100 billion on that country——–and counting. Generals and military contractors cannot account for all the lost and wasted 100s of millions.
Now they are in Brazil, showing what is going on in the “pacification” that is going on there to try to spuce up the country for the World Cup and the Olympics——trying to deal with all the drugs and gangs and slums and high homicide rate——-and one remedy seems to be the “disappearing” of a lot of suspected troublemakers——gone—poof—–no trials, no verdicts, no prisons—-just poof. Slick.

$300 million dollar power plant, of course. Too expensive to run, import their electricity—-which is only available to tiny minority of the population.

My son just showed me this program tonight – I’m learning a lot having my 27 year old home with me for the month. I saw one segment on North Korea and one on the world’s most dangerous borders which was really scary. It was a good show and the videos were terrific. It was amazing how much access they got. And it made me think, where are the national networks doing this kind of reporting now?

You know what, I absolutely do NOT want a third term for PBO and his family! If truth be told, I plan not to be saddened when his second term is over. In fact I am going to be glad/relieved it’s over. IMO PBO has done a great job for the nation despite the obstruction, hate, disrespect, GOP & MSM ignorance, Dem 1/2 hearted support, etc. etc. He brought clarity to the role of US president, IMO, and he has shown us what it could/should be like in terms of getting stuff done for the people. Many of his fellow politicians AND many voters still haven’t gotten it, but that’s their weakness. I personally see absolutely no reason why he and his family should subject themselves to any more.

I agree with Honeyschild simply because the third year would seal it with a kiss-my-ass to all of those who vowe to make him a one- term president from day one. Also, because I am partial to the numbers 3, 7, 12.

The third term would allow Billary and Hillary to old to move around and would need a chair lift to get to the top of Air Force One. Plus Billary would be too old to get it up or down and could not embarrass us anymore even if Hillary does not give a damn.
Most importantly, there memories would be shot-to-shit and they would forget to remember all the accomplishments PBO has done so they would not claim any credit.
So, yes, it may sound selfish on my part.
I just feel if any Dem who is not prepared to stand tall in the legacy PBO and his family have made sacrifices for, let us know now. If Hillary and Billary plan to come back to the WH and get all the glory after PBO and FLOTUS did all the hard work, they can forget about it.
We know they Repugs will do everything in their power to go back to the Bush days. But it is these spineless Dems who are acting like they have arrived and this president had nothing to do with them getting elected. They and others cannot wait and are salivating to talk shit after PBO term is finished. Namely, that Cory Booker. I do not trust him and other Dems who want to fix Obamacare when they and others did not have the nerves or the balls to even suggest anything worthwhile.
Okay. Now, I will go listen to “The Closer I Get To You” to calm down.

It has been a trying week. I frequent the explosion site whenever I go to Costco. It is so sad.
Layla, welcome back. Jovie, keeping you in prayer.
            Sweet sleep everyone.

Hi LDS. Hope you are already feeling better after your trying week. Luckily it’s now over and you have a couple of days to unwind.

I hear and understand what you are saying and I too feel selfish about the Obamas, but I am coming at it from a slightly different angle. The Clintons are as nothing to me. The US MSM, the same. And so are the voters who are idiotic enough to vote, or not vote, against their best interests. I don’t want to prove anything to them – they don’t care really. For over 5 years they have had the best of the best in the WH and if they haven’t accepted/realized that yet, I hold out no hope for them.

I have, on the other hand, a gut reaction to PBO and his family. When people say lying things about them or try to discredit them it not only hurts, it fosters a deep resentment within me. (See I told you my thoughts on the matter are selfish.) I have been flabbergasted and angered over and over by the level of disrespect shown to the Obamas, the lack of support from those who should have been falling over themselves to support them, the fabricated stories that though discredited never die because MSM won’t let them, the idiots daring to accuse them to their faces with little ‘respect for the office’. Enough is enough. It’s clear to me that many of those in the limelight will never ‘learn’ from PBO because they simply cannot – too bigoted, dumb, shallow, mean-spirited, greedy or whatever. While the O’s have been consistently gracious and focused, I see no reason on earth why they should put up with that kind of behaviour for another four years!!! IMO 8 years is more than enough for the girls to lend their father to the country. It’s long enough for the pols to have grown but they DC ones in particular haven’t. I say let the Obamas go serve somewhere where they’ll be more appreciated, more free to live away from the spotlight. They have so much and so much to offer, and no insatiable desire like Clinton et al to be in the limelight.

I probably haven’t expressed this as clearly or rationally as I would have liked, so I’ll use sleep deprivation as my excuse. The bottom line in any case is that while I will miss the Os in the WH, 2017 cannot come soon enough for me to brush aside the enemies, and the parasites, that surround them.

VC, I hope you come back to see this. If not I will catch up probably later on.
I truly understand how you feel and it is certainly justified. I pray everyday for this family and their safety as if they are my own. I don’t know if my heart can take four more years of the pain and disrespect they endure.
But they are what “love” looks like. Feels like. Walks like. Talks like. Sounds like.

They are for real and the real thing.
These eight years have brought about transformation in me/on me that even I never expected. I feel closer to some people here than some friends and family. We have never met. Now, tell me if that is not change!
I wake up some days feeling so good that I feel guilty.
I would love to put down in words how it made me feel when I came back home from the first inauguration and ask Stevie Wonder to put it in a song.
I still cry when I allow my mind to retrace that day. The whole experince leading up to that day, I thought it was all a beautiful instead of the nightmares that I used to have during the Bush days. And was not that fond of Bill Clinton.
But coming back home knowing that President and Mrs. Obama woke up in the WH did a number on me.

I agree with you and Iknow I am over protected of them.

                • March 15, 2014 at 12:10 pm

Hi LDS, I’m catching up on yesterday’s posts and see you here. I just want to join you guys, what you’ve both said has moved me so. I understand your transformation, I’ve had one, too and I also feel closer to many of you than I do to some people in my ‘real’ life’ (even if I don’t do a lot of posting, and despite only finding this site a year or so ago). I’ve never in my 50 years felt for anyone or anything like I do for my president and first lady. I’m so tired of tamping down my total support and enthusiasm in my ‘white’ world, not because I’m sensitive to other people’s differing views (they can screw themselves, really), but because I can’t bear the emotional plummet when I discover someone I thought I’ve known well can have an ugly enough soul not to see the goodness and greatness that I see. When I hear the nutjobs screaming about how PBO is the most ‘divisive’ president ever, etc, etc, I can actually agree with them on something. Their rotten cores have all been laid bare in his shadow. I will never stand with people like that again, on any issue.
I love hearing of your experience from the inauguration, and though I wasn’t in Washington, I’m with you. I remember the joy I first felt then and still do knowing I can wake up and smile with my man in the White House. I’ll be forever grateful that I have this place to share this joy. Have a lovely day and know we’re all with you!

VC, I have to agree with you. Our president has given and given and given to this country and he has received unprecedented disrespect. It will be good for him and his family to forge lives of their own. They will never stop helping people and the world will always be a better place for it, but they do not need the pressure cooker/ lack of privacy of the WH.

      This made me cry……
Going to retweet this before I go to sleep and pass it on to those Dems who are not speaking up enough for PBO’s hard work to get this done. They all should be ashamed of themselves. As hard as he is working and has worked to get this done, they have the nerve to want to fix something. Why don’t they say what it is that needs fixing and give suggestions to PBO’s administration instead of publicly voicing out.
I know the conquer and divide meme is out there, but if we don’t get out and vote in 2014 and win(which is what they should be talking about) Repug Congress will keep doing what they are doing.
