Notice media outlets are all (hurriedly) mentioning the ACA 6 million mark this a.m., but ALL are adding these exact words, as if their scripts were all sent out by one writer: “but the number is well short of the original goal of 7 million”. So predictable.
I have (sorta) feared for a long time that eventually one big corporation would own everything ——but I think we’re already at the point where one creepy person somewhere dictates the content of all our news programs—–noticing the identical reporting more and more every day.

      Happy Friday dotster3!

President Obama did not set a goal of 7 million, at least I don’t remember that he did. They don’t have anything to talk about so they invent negativity against President Obama.

This is all about the 2014 election, and they are trying their best to stir up negative reporting against the President to persuade the voters to not come out for the Dems.

Yahoo is featuring a story; Why Latinos remain weary of Obamacare.

        March 28, 2014 at 8:46 am

        Morning Cindy…

The 7 million came from the CBO…..the 6 million also came from the CBO as an adjustment due to the troubled website rollout.

So…it was never the ” administration’s ” goal and the media knows that.

          March 28, 2014 at 8:52 am

          First, It’s not 31st yet.

Second, charles gaba projects 6.5 million by the deadline.

Third, the final official numbers will be released by only 2nd week of april.

          • 30 hopefruit2
            March 28, 2014 at 8:58 am

Exactly – and the same media declared GWB’s Medicare part D a resounding success when they hit 70% of their target enrollment in 1 year. The ACA has hit 86% of target enrollment in less than 6 months.

          • March 28, 2014 at 9:01 am

…and the 6 million is WELL above the what the media and ACA opponents had expected — and hoped for — after the initial website “glitches” as well as all the sabotage attempted by the red state governors/insurance commissioners/legislature. Their frustration is showing because reality does not match their script.

          Happy Friday Linda!!!

That’s what I thought Linda, and they continue to say; he set a goal of 7 million. The media has been paid for and they are not going to give President Obama credit for anything good. This is going to carry on until December 31st 2016 and beyond.

          • 33 hopefruit2
            March 28, 2014 at 8:58 am

What if he does reach 7 million by Mar 31st?

              March 28, 2014 at 9:04 am

              Happy Friday hopefruit2!

If we reach 7 million by March 31st, the media is going to say; Obamacare is not working because President Obama under estimated the numbers.

In this country, with this media, our President will never win in their eyes.

      • 35 anniebella
        March 28, 2014 at 9:35 am

I also heard that the administration did not set some goal of 7 million. This is what I heard from one media person, Obamacare reaches 6 million as the law becomes more unpopular.

    • March 28, 2014 at 8:56 am

It’s not March 31st yet, so the caveat about the original goal is not even appropriate.

    • 37 TrumpDog
      March 28, 2014 at 10:13 am

Must have got an updated script; the BUT I heard today was in regards to not enough young signed up.
Also the release of the Obama Care polling numbers, which are not very positive. I knew they would find a way to throw shade.

    Good Morning

WASHINGTON (AP) — Public support for President Barack Obama’s health care law is languishing at its lowest level since passage of the landmark legislation four years ago, according to a new poll.

The Associated Press-GfK survey finds that 26 percent of Americans support the Affordable Care Act. Yet even fewer — 13 percent — think it will be completely repealed. A narrow majority expects the law to be further implemented with minor changes, or as passed.

Hmm….interesting since the AP/Gfk polling in 2012 was ranked the least accurate of 28 polling companies.

( TPM did not mention they came in last . )

    • 39 Jziglar
      March 28, 2014 at 8:47 am

That seems to contradict the kaiser poll that said that support is increasing, and people are growing tired of this ACA negativity talk. The media is full of it.

      • 41 hopefruit2
        March 28, 2014 at 9:03 am

Not just the Kaiser poll – pretty much every poll in the last month has indicated that support for the law is increasing. But as I predicted last night, the ACA milestone news will result in the release of many fake-ass polls with (likely) fudged figures.

      • March 28, 2014 at 9:57 am

Sadly, some of the negativity is the result of insurance companies making the ACA the scapegoat of its profit making decisions that may result in some perceived inconveniences people may be experiencing.

    • 43 hopefruit2
      March 28, 2014 at 9:01 am

ROTFLMAO! WOW…Just yesterday, I predicted a FAKE POLL would be released in light of the new ACA milestone news. Here it is:

I took notice when the President met the Pope, the media had to keep bringing up the President low approval numbers as if the President was just meeting the Pope hoping his approval would rise being in the Pope present. If that’s the case then why don’t the media go meet the Pope, because we never see any polls saying what the people think of the media, but I’m willing to bet they don’t think very much of the media.

      • 47 Vicki
        March 28, 2014 at 10:12 am

The Media have realized that the ACA numbers no longer support their views.

Goalposts now are not how many Americans signed up and are covered but 1) Is it Really helping people?????
        2) Aren’t costs going to go up up and up?????
        3) We won’t know if it is Really working for months, no matter what!!!!!

        And so on.

Having learned to be thankful for small favors, was pleased to see this headline, that ‘public increasingly warming to health care plan’—–saying even tho numbers are still lopsided, approvals have improved. Those previously without insurance gave highest approvals—-duh. The 2 troubling results from cited poll—–that 70% of Repubs are enthusiastic about voting in midterm compared to 58% of Dems who said the same—–and that half of the U.S. public STILL does not know what is included in the ACA. Even tho they approve of the separate provisions, most only know about the mandate, the focus of rt. wing criticism.

Your #2 troubling result remind me of how the Repubs were more enthusiastic to vote then the Dems in 2012, we heard that same story over and over in 2012. And the people who say they don’t know what is included in the law reminds me of the people who says that they have not made up their mind who they are voting for, and it’s one day away from voting. If you don’t know what is in the ACA, then take the time to fine out.

Chucky Todd was one of the main one pushing that lack of enthusiasm on the Democrats side in 2012, I remember when he went to a event POTUS was having and because there were afew empty seats at that event, that is all Chucky Todd talked about. Not one word about how Romney were only getting about 100 or more at his campaign events. I am puzzle at why MSNBC and NBC think so much of Chucky Todd.

Looks like the president is staying overnight in Saudi Arabia so that he can greet and thank US Embassy staff there. SA is 7 hours ahead of DC. and it’s a six hour flight. So you could leave Saudi Arabia early Saturday afternoon and get to DC by early morning, always supposing you could keep your head from spinning around. Hope an early start is in the plan. Couldn’t find take off time on the WH site.

My best friend went through similar surgery and the recovery is long and weird: you have to stay in one position for weeks. My friend had to be prone, on her right side, for at least three weeks. And yes, you can’t ‘use’ your eyes much until it’s healed. At least her husband was facebook-literate and we had a stream of news about her progress.

Watched the two segments of the President’s interview with Scott Pelley, and one comment is that we here on TOD are correct about Vlad: he wants the old Soviet Union back, and wants to control that part of the world again. The President is so thoughtful in his questions, and Pelley actually asked good questions that gave the President room to explain.

One thing I can say for Pelley, he had the respect to go where the President is, and get an interview with him, not sit here and carp. Brian Williams AND Diane Sawyer should have done the same. I am so totally disgusted with BriWi, I can hardly stand it. Diane was never a strong news person, so I don’t expect much from her.

In 2012 it was David Muir of ABC who went to London and got that great interview with Mittens in which he said all those terrible things about London and the Olympics.

Diane needs to know that no one west of Jersey is interested in Chris Chrispy. To spend al that time on him, is poor use of air time.
