It’s still slamming busy because the REAL deadline is 4/15.

If they started an app by the 31st at Covered CA, they can finish it, and if everyone has until the 15th to apply if they do it OFF the exchange. (At least here in CA.)

Here in Oregon we have open enrollment in QHP through 4/30 so it’s going stronger than ever. I’m participating in two enrollment fairs this week and next as an enrollment assister. Today I had my usual appt. enrolling mental health patients into the Oregon Health Plan (our version of Medicaid). CA has really led the nation in the ACA and shown how it’s done.

Hey Chips and fellow TODโ€™ers! Just wanted to pass along that while in my car this afternoon I was listening to the very end of a show on โ€œPOTUSโ€ channel 124 Sirius XM and Christine PELOSI was the guest. The host asked her to name 3 of the best blogs she follows. Cannot remember the first two, Burt her third recommendation was THE OBAMA DIARY! She said it is a great chronicling of the Obama years! I screamed out loud and almost hit the median I was so excited to hear her give the shout out! TOD is known out there in a big way! ๐Ÿ™‚

Seems like O-top brass are using this spring to highlight their education focus.

In 2011, Rhodes was on Time magazineโ€™s “40 Under 40” list of powerful and prominent young professionals. A native of New York City, Rhodes has a Bachelor of Arts from Rice University and a Master of Fine Arts from New York University.

Rhodesโ€™ itinerary in Bloomington is designed to give students a chance to visit with him in small-group and classroom settings. No public events are scheduled.

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn from and converse with someone who is working at the highest level in the executive branch, helping shape and communicate American foreign policy,” Hamilton said.

Rhodesโ€™ visit is supported with funding from IUโ€™s School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where Hamilton serves as a professor of practice.

On the evening of April 6, Rhodes is slated for an informal Q&A session over pizza with public policy, journalism and business students. On April 7, he will make remarks and take questions at a breakfast with students from the Hutton Honors College, the Wells Scholars Program, the Political and Civic Engagement program and the School of Journalism.

But is Ms. Contreras-Sweet a True Leftist? Because if she’s not she’s just another corporate shill which shows that Obama is just like Bush because Wall St. is at record highs and drones and Keystone XL and we need Ralph Nader in charge!!!!

Whoa, that was fun to write.

I haven’t. Gov O’Malley is term-limited this year and we are all working on Anthony Brown (the Lt. Governor) campaign. I’ll have to figure out a subtle way to get this point across

          • April 7, 2014 at 6:07 pm

Indeed donna. And with a bit of work, he can get there. He may not be as gifted a speaker as PBO, but he obviously was able to speak convincingly enough that he got elected Mayor of Baltimore, and then Governor of MD… ๐Ÿ™‚

Senator Defends Decision Not To Report Sexual Assault Allegations

Wisconsin state Rep. Bill Kramer lost his Majority Leader position, but not his seat, when he was charged in March with two counts of second-degree sexual assault. On Sunday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that there was a third alleged assault three years earlier. The victim was an aide to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), who informed Johnson, his chief of staff, and a Waukesha County GOP official at the time, though no one took action.

She asked them not to report it….but is that legal ?

McAllister made headlines in January for inviting “Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson as his guest to President Barack Obama’s 2014 State of the Union address.

He is fairly new to politics, having assumed office in November 2013 after an upset win in a runoff race against Republican Neil Riser to succeed former GOP Rep. Rodney Alexander. McAllister’s win came after he touted his conservative values and 16-year-marriage.

A U.S. district judge rejected Monday the Louisiana state government’s request that MoveOn.org’s billboard criticizing Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) for not expanding Medicaid under Obamacare be taken down. The billboard includes a parody of the state’s tourism slogan, which was the basis for the state’s legal action.

U.S. District Judge Shelly Dick issued the order. Lawyers for Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne (R), who filed the suit, had “not demonstrated a substantial likelihood of prevailing on its burden of proving confusion by viewers of the billboard,” Dick wrote. She rejected the state’s request for a preliminary injunction, which asked that the billboard be taken down as the court case continues.

“The State has failed to demonstrate a compelling reason to curtail MoveOn.org.โ€™s political speech in favor of protecting of the Stateโ€™s service mark,” she continued. “There has been no showing of irreparable injury to the State.”

Jindal sure knows how to waste taxpayer money instead of providing health care to his citizens.

Your Governor is right on all the issues that matter, Donna.

Plus I agree with you that it is his public speaking that might hold Gov. O’Malley back. Surely public speaking is a skill that can be honed with practice. And Gov. O’Malley is goodlooking, not that looks should count. I mean, nobody here at TOD noticed POTUS’ looks, right?

If charisma is the biggest metric and the competition is Hillary….well I can’t think of anything HRC has said or done that is memorable. The former SOS puts me to sleep.

Just talked to my daughter who teaches at the high school in Indy, which is getting one of the 3 h.s. grants of $7 million (others going to community colleges etc., as I understand it)—–which was mentioned by PRESIDENT OBAMA today at his appearance in Md. She said there was lots of excitement about the announcement at her school——–and a lot of “OMG! President Obama just talked about us in his speech!!!” She said they’re all very proud—–were already proud of their school and all its progressive, innovative programs and awards, grad rates and percentage of college-bound and of being the most diverse h.s. in Indiana—–but now more proud. Money will go to expanding their excellent career academies program, will help to prepare students for college and careers for a high tech economy.

Good Day my Chips and TOD family. Just catching up with my wonderful family here. Thanks for all of the great news, Chips and TOD family members. Great news from Ms. Pelosi on calling out names. We are the ones, Chips.

Thanks again to our beautiful Tally, Bill R., Judith, and All of the great TOD family members working on the ACA. Great news.

I had my dental appointment today, and I was on fire. Came out with a happier visit, but more money to the store for another couple of items to help improve my dental health for my next visit. This is why I will continue to devote my time to point people to the proper place to make sure they understand the ACA. I had a great opportunity on Sat., giving out information to the entire hair salon on the ACA, and show them how to get to White House.gov for all of the departments which concerns them. The ladies thanked me.

There are so many working middle-class people out there who do not have the time to follow the daily news that our wonderful POTUS and his entire team are accomplishing daily. I told them to maybe have some neighborhood gatherings during the summer and help get others informed before the Nov., middle term election. I stressed the importance of how they can have girl friends phone calls, picnic gatherings to inform; speak to church groups, especially college age classes within the church to spread the word on hosting with other churches during their summer programs to spread the word on how to get out the vote.

The ladies were grateful for the excitement of spreading the news, and I did tell them that I will be checking on them. We are going to stay in touch and maybe have a’ Mid-Term Connections for 2014′. Please keep me in your prayers to keep my energy up because these are important little things that we can take these opportunities to help POB. I totally stressed to them that this Mid-Term Election is Very, Very important for all of us.

{{{{{{{{{{ Loving hugs of healing to GoBrooklyn, CarolMae, MightyPamela, Yardarm, and all of my loving TOD family members who are moving within their spaces with healings waiting to enter your beautiful spaces. Love you all so much and thank you so much.

Please say a word of goodness in your space for POB and his Cabinet. Please. HZ
