It breaks my heart that President Obama keeps having to attend these services. Thank God the knife-wielding high school kid who stabbed so many classmates didn’t have a gun! He did enough damage as is.

A 6-thread marathon catch-up. I’m quite worn out, think I’ll go lie down for a bit. God Bless and keep our President and First Lady in their efforts to console, comfort and teach compassion to the world. (particularly in the USA, where is is badly needed)

In the state of Florida’s most populous county, voters who need to go while waiting to vote aren’t allowed to do so.

Most of us have now seen Jim de Mint’s latest crap. He’s an idiot but he is not acting alone.

Less publicized is the evil NY Times writer Peter Baker who in a front page article today asks “What Would Johnson do?” The articles premise is that POTUS can no longer do BIG things. It takes pages for Baker to grudglingly mention the ACA. (We know it is the Biggest Piece of Social Legislation since Medicare.)

Similarly yesterday John McVain sought to humiliate John Kerry by comparing him unflatteringly to Teddy Roosevelt. That did not go well for John McCain.

They can’t stop Our President so they are increasing their efforts to diminish his achievements. F–K Them All.

    A Game Changer indeed.

Washington (AFP) – The US Navy believes it has finally worked out the solution to a problem that has intrigued scientists for decades: how to take seawater and use it as fuel.

The development of a liquid hydrocarbon fuel is being hailed as “a game-changer” because it would signficantly shorten the supply chain, a weak link that makes any force easier to attack.

Yeah he’s not taking it too well. Jon is a good writer who has done excellent stuff before and will again. This time he fell flat. As I said before his pox on both houses routine was for me his undoing. It’s okay to say one side is better or worse than the other if the facts support that. In this case they do.

This is what a lot of people seem to forget, and the thing about which the GOP hopes their supporters will remain ignorant: The Civil Rights Act of 1964 sent the racist Dixiecrats to the GOP. Kennedy and LBJ had to appease the white racist southerners in the Dem party to get elected. Endorsing and passing the Civil Rights Act was too much for them, so they bolted to infest the GOP.

And for today’s media to even contemplate the Truth here is to face their deep seeded hatred and yes, subconscious racist attitudes towards president Obama.

History will NOT be Kind to these so called Journalists and their covering behavior for the GOPers in Congress and in the 50 states.

President Obama just laid me out. His tribute to the fallen soldiers and their families was so moving and touching. To come back from Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. and still not be safe in your own country is a horror. May their souls rest in eternal peace.

“That’s the most revolting thing, there is now totalitarian censorship in Crimea! No one can say a word about this illegality which is now at every turn! On March 18th I was called to meet a district official, he turned out to be new: a former Berkut from Kyiv! He looked me in the eye and said sarcastically: “Keep your mouth shut and you’ll go far, if you blab you’ll end up in prison!” I kept quiet.

The day before yesterday my wife, a history teacher, was fired from work. Not only had they switched from Ukrainian to Russian, but the children had to use Russian textbooks; “Kyivan Rus” became “the old Russian state.” One objection had cost her her job. Then I realized that if my wife had had the courage to stand up to this oppression, it would be shameful if I was cowardly and kept quiet!

I am currently under written instruction not to leave the country, but I hope to leave this Crimean concentration camp soon, with my family, even if I lose everything. Nothing is more precious than freedom!

PS. Let this be a lesson to the citizens of South-Eastern Ukraine: value your freedom while you have it!”

    • April 9, 2014 at 3:51 pm

Oh Lord, I don’t need this reminder of one our state senators. He is in the district next to me. STUPID does not do him justice. We have a super young woman running against him. She is a teacher in Knox County, fantastic background, excellent speaker, personality, etc. Campfield also has a strong R challenger this time. He may not make it out of the primary.

    This is unbelievable….

The New Jersey legislative committee investigating the George Washington Bridge lane closures lost a key court battle when a judge ruled on Wednesday that two key figures in the scandal do not have to turn over documents, according to The Bergen Record.

Superior Court Judge Mary Jacobson denied the request by the committee to force Bridge Kelly, former deputy chief of staff to Gov. Chris Christie (R), and Bill Stepien, former Christie campaign manager, to turn over documents in response to subpoenas.

    • April 9, 2014 at 5:20 pm

Is she a Christie appointee??…remember there was a battle over appointees….when court decisions happen like this…it reminds me of a statement by Malcolm X…..about expecting Justice from those who are oppressing you

AB, there was some kind of disturbance and an Pakistani officer of the law was hit with a bunch of stones. The moron claims the baby was one of those hitting him, as if the baby understood the disturbance, had any awareness whatsoever of the officer and had the strength to hit anyone, let alone cause injury. It’s mega stupidity.

Just saw news of another horrible event today, as if there wasn’t enough bad news—–a car crashed into a KinderCare day care center in Orlando, Fl., 12 taken to the hospital, 11 children, 4 or 5 said to be on “advanced life support”, one fatality——all info subject to change, of course. Makes me feel sick reading about it. The car that crashed thru the building was said to be run off the road by a Dodge Durango, which they are looking for—–wonder if this was a horrible road rage incident.
