Morning Chips, it’s a dark, rainy day, but the daffodils are out, Easter is on its way and my son is coming home in eight days, so no grumbling this am, but I’ll reserve the right for later. Have a great day!

India’s Supreme Court recognises transgender people as a third gender, in a landmark ruling which orders the government to provide key amenities.

AMK, is India the first country in the world to do this? I had not heard this was even a movement among transgender people.

        from the linky

But India is not the first country to recognise a third gender. Nepal recognised a third gender as early as in 2007 when the Supreme Court ordered the government to scrap all laws that discriminated on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. And last year, Bangladesh also recognised a third gender.

Wow, AMK! India is really showing the world how to respect all human beings. Let’s hope the rest of the world, including the U.S., learn from the example set by India’s Supreme Court.

Okay, you did it, Dudette–the water works started. Didn’t even get that it was an ad until the last second. And what a world it would be if we all showed a little bit of that kindness.

      Good Morning Neighbor!!! :-)

Thanks for sharing this video. This is what inspires us to be better and to be kinder to each other…the feeling that in your own quiet, simple way, you have helped to make someone else feel better/brought some happiness to someone else.

This is a great way to start the day. 😀

Good Morning HF2, this quote from that article is exactly what you and I have been preaching about since PBO got into office. This clearly shows an agenda driven media:

“Take Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post as an example. Click over to the Fix or comb through his Twitter feed, as of early Monday evening, and you won’t find a single word written about the CBO’s latest findings. That’s curious, given that when the CBO issued a report in early February on Obamacare’s projected impact on the labor market, Cillizza was all over it”.

And if I recall, this is the guy that Andrea Mitchell has on her daily show quite often to give opinion and commentary. That so-called progressive cable station is the biggest hoax yet!!!!

Gutting early voting and other voter suppression efforts is the act of someone who will cheat, steal, to try to win. It’s the acts of someone who have no morals. I have not heard one Republican tell me what does cutting early voting time has to do with voter fraud

Which is why the Republicans will never have a vote on comprehensive immigration reform. They know what allowing these immigrates to become citizens means for them politically. My one hope is that Latino’s remember this in November and come out in record numbers to shut republicans down all over this country.

      • 59 jackiegrumbacher
        April 15, 2014 at 9:37 am

The problem with the great Republican strategy of not voting for immigration is that they will push larger and larger numbers of Latinos away as the years go by. Twenty-five percent can shrink to 20 and then 15 and then they’ll sink lower than the Indies before they’re done. It’s the kind of short range thinking that will undo them in the end. Latinos in our community have a lot of children and more than 40 percent of the students in our county seat schools are Latinos. Our Latino friends often laugh at us for having only two children, as if we had somehow fallen down on the job. The children are American citizens and who do you think they will support when they turn 18?

Morning everyone! Dog woke me to go outside last night, so I got to see the beautiful Blood Moon:) Really was lovely.
Hey! Look at what the lunatic ‘men’ thought they would do in case they got their gun battle…

Wake up to 26 degrees out, an inch of snow, my car pretty much iced in. Have I told you lately how much I hate this winter. And folks north of us in Wisconsin had it worse. This sucks big time.

A newly released poll from Public Policy Polling shows that the GOP is by no means assured of retaining control of the House after the mid-term elections next fall. Apparently, a major factor in turning the electorate against many Republican incumbents was their vote to shut the government down last October.

While the Corporate media claims it will be a ” Wave ” election for the Republicans.

This is great news. Plays right into Dems are Winning, which is my personal mantra from now until I get to my polling place—and hopefully beyond and forever

    • April 15, 2014 at 9:44 am

Seems like Democrats can do a collection of campaign ads with the theme being “REMEMBER”.

REMEMBER who caused the government shut down; REMEMBER who threatened the full faith and credit of our country; REMEMBER who voted over 50 times to keep everyone from having insurance; REMEMBER which governors are refusing to expand Medicaid; REMEMBER who took cut food stamps but extended subsidies for farmers who don’t need it; REMEMBER who won’t vote on a jobs bill; REMEMBER who doesn’t want to extend UI; REMEMBER who is not in favor of extending gun control laws; REMEMBER who wants limited government but think it’s okay to govern a woman’s body; REMEMBER who thinks its okay to cut safety nets for the poor and the middle class but that it’s okay to maintain corporate welfare; REMEMBER who is preventing comprehensive immigration reform; REMEMBER who’s trying to take away your right to vote….

Well, we take NOTHING for granted..especially since we know they cheat to try and win…they actually think that America will forget all the shit they’ve pulled? I say time to remind everyone how unfit to govern they really are!
