So, Linda, the question remains. What in hell is the Nigerian military doing about it?

      • 20 globalcitizenlinda
        May 2, 2014 at 8:53 am

        another reporter on the same show claimed that the Nigerian military has sent into the forest a battalion (or two) after the terrorists and child-abductors;

        because the reporter who said this sounded somewhat defensive, I was not very convinced by this claim; I will need additional confirmation from another source;

        the situation is disgusting

Morning. I’m off to the airport to get son. Have been a cleaning and baking demon for the last 24 hours. I’m so excited I will probably break out in hives before the plane lands. Fortunately for everyone on the road, I’m not doing the driving today. Tomorrow grandbaby arrives complete with mom and dad. Will check back later if I can. Have a great day. So grateful TOD will have all videos re PBO and Merkel that I can catch up on later.

Before I go, just wanted to restate that in the PA primary, Tom Wolf is currently polling twenty points ahead of his nearest rival. Most analysts don’t think the others can close the gap in the two and half weeks remaining. If Wolf wins, I think he will make a strong candidate against Corbett, but we will need all the help we can get from MD, VA, NJ and NY to GOTV. Our heartless, sleazy Koch-puppet governor has to go!

Remember all the emphasis on Young people signing up for Obamacare?
Well here is another way of looking at the stats released yesterday: More than 51% of the enrollees in QHP are 44 years old or Younger.

This is important because the health of participants is what determines premium price and the assumption is that younger means healthier.

    Yes, the 18- 34 year old is 28% but add in 35-44 @ 17% and you get 51%!!!! (6% are under 18) 28%+17%+6%=51%

WOW. Another GOP/MSM talking point shot to hell.

    • 43 Vicki
      May 2, 2014 at 8:45 am

Or put it another way: 34 years old and younger equal 33%.
Wont’ be seeing that number on Pox noise or the Wall Street Journal.

NBC website says “employment rate” falls to 6.3%…I thought this was the rate of UNemployment. Did I miss something? If 6.3% was the employment rate that would mean that 94% of the population would be UNemployed!

Oh look:) CNN got it right…not NBC!

U.S. adds 288,000 jobs in April, the government says. The unemployment rate falls to 6.3%.

    • 48 99ts
      May 2, 2014 at 8:52 am

They have it correct in the article – but – of course – they must include the negative line

“A consensus of economists had been expecting an increase of 201,000 non-farm payrolls, with the jobless rate inching lower to 6.6 percent. The job gains in April were the highest since January 2012.

Stock futures surged on the news, signaling a higher opening.

Many market watchers had been anticipating a hot jobs number on belief that inclement winter weather had suppressed economic activity and cooled the jobs market, though the numbers didn’t completely back that argument.”

I guess it will be 2017 before any news pundit can report good news without the BUT …

“Americans gained jobs at the fastest pace in more than two years last month and the jobless rate plunged, a sign the economy has rebounded from a winter rut,” the Wall Street Journal reports.

“Nonfarm employment grew a seasonally adjusted 288,000 last month, the Labor Department said. That marked the best month of job creation since January 2012 and the second-best month since the economy emerged from recession in mid-2009. The jobless rate fell to 6.3% from 6.7%, hitting the lowest level since September 2008.”

New York Times: “The consensus among economists polled by Bloomberg before the Labor Department’s announcement Friday morning called for an increase of 218,000 in nonfarm payrolls, with the unemployment rate falling by 0.1 percent to 6.6 percent.”

They only thought it would fall to 6.6%….and it fell to 6.3% 🙂 THAT woke them up!

    This train is ROLLING! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2014/05/02/morning-plum-obamacare-enrollment-spikes-in-states-with-tough-senate-races/

The Republican strategy for 2014 rests heavily on a mass effort to pretend the millions of people benefitting from the Affordable Care Act simply don’t exist — or at least that those who are benefitting from the law’s “free stuff” are vastly outnumbered by ordinary hard-working Americans who have been victimized by job crushing big government and Obama-mandate tyranny.

But that illusion is getting harder and harder to sustain — and this may prove increasingly true even in red states. In the wake of the announcement of eight million Obamacare enrollments, Elise Vieback has a terrific piece this morning explaining that enrollments have beat administration expectations in the majority of states with competitive Senate races:

Oh boy…seems like someone is jealous. PBO has made it what it was in the last few years and advertisers saw an opportunity to cash-in. After 2017, it will probably go back to what it was prior to 2009.

    • May 2, 2014 at 10:22 am

when i saw that it was Fornier..i should not have read it….1st mistake….but then i could not get past the first paragraph…

“The typical White House reporter considers President Obama’s team the most secretive in memory, stingier with information than the tight-lipped Bush White House and, according to a Politico survey, prone to lie. The press corps also is relatively inexperienced, with 39 percent on the beat five years or less, and nearly 60 percent in their first decade”….

he calls the WHPC inexperience…but then says that PBOs administration is the most secretive in memory….and of course …all of this because of a Polico survey….

sheesh…but then he goes on to say the most grievous thing…that PBOs administration is prone to lie….

all of this is jam packed in the few lines of the first paragrah…

      Oooooooooo weeeeeeee….

Surely is – and they can’t attack the policies – so they attack the people – big fail

The jealousy that they are not the “In crowd” comes out with every word. How unfair that the WHPC do not create the rules and govern the country. I didn’t see anyone voting for the Chuck Todds of the world.

    🙂 🙂 🙂 IT’S TRUE

Wisconsin state Rep. Brett Hulsey, a Democratic candidate for governor, plans to blitz the state’s Republican convention this weekend with Ku Klux Klan hoods he refers to as “Republican Party hats,” according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Check out the WI GOP party hates I’ll hand out to highlight @GovWalker, WIGOP’s racist policies like racial profiling pic.twitter.com/jJbgCAFuMx
    — Brett Hulsey (@BrettHulseyWI) May 1, 2014

Asked whether doling out the KKK hoods could be considered offensive, Hulsey told the Wisconsin State Journal on Thursday that “What I find offensive is Gov. Walker and the Republicans’ racist record. They’re the ones considering the resolution to leave the United States.”
