I am still rolling from ‘Crimeny’ and ‘You’re being silly’. Neil Cavuto’s exasperation with Bachmann is hilarious. And the fact that the segment ends while she is still babbling is just perfect. In a strange twist, Neil Cavuto just did what all hosts should be doing on a regular basis – he challenged a politician who wasn’t making any sense.

T’ogether, we are pounding the rock’ – Yes we are and it’s reassuring to know that we are not doing it on our own, or by ourselves! Won’t Boehner and Rove and all the others be surprised when the rock splits? 😀

Isn’t it a brilliant image, VC? I feel this is exactly what we’re doing and, as the president recognized, sometimes we get tired or angry or frustrated and we think that the rock is just never going to split and that’s when we need each other to pick up the slack if we falter. I like how he puts this is a long-term context and tells us why we need to keep trying–for the sake of our children and all who follow us. Just when you think our president can’t get any better, he inspires us all over again.

  6. June 25, 2014 at 8:35 pm

I knew I could find balance here. You keep the President front and center and he is a rock for me. I just got angry about something I read, not to bring the anger here, but to bring the call to action. I feel so strongly about giving him a congress he can work with. I was able to give $5 to DCCC. They have triple matching funds today, I don’t know for how long, but this is champagne living on a beer budget for me when I can multiply my contribution. Anyone that wants to join, please feel free. We can DO this!!!! 🙂

I commented with my tweet before I listened to the video!! I felt so fired up when I tweeted, but also angry about Boehner. President Obama’s words are absolutely, incredibly perfect for me right now Chips. I feel the fire big time and this is just the encouragement I need to choose even more positive thoughts, focus even more on solutions, take even more steps for Democrats who can support this country and the President. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Thank you so much, Chips.

I’ve been thinking that the GOP will get more and more outrageous to try to swing the midterms. I also know they invariably go too far and along the way more people learn the truth who didn’t really pay attention before. There are Democrats running for office that are really good people. It doesn’t matter how much money the GOP or Koch’s spend. What matters is voting. All that matters is helping Democratic voters realize how important they are and getting them to vote. All of us working together really can do this!

TME, this is why it’s so important for us to get Democrats to wake up, register people, support specific candidates with contributions and voter outreach and then work like hell to get Dems out to vote.

        • June 25, 2014 at 10:08 pm

I’m in a very, very red district with no viable Dem. I will vote, but I’ve “adopted” Democrats running in Red to Blue districts. I join their team, tweet and write articles about them, about their meet-ups, let others know about them. Name recognition and connecting that will help get the job done. All of us working together. Here’s one id tweeted today. WA-08 was won by Pres Obama twice, but a GOPer is in House with an excellent Democrat running against him. Red to Blue!! You never know how many voters in that district your tweets or articles will reach or people who know people there!

Unfortunately, he will never receive them, nor will his family.
The GOP always complains about how PBO tries to create distractions. No, it is the GOP, dropping Bergdahl, realizing it isn’t getting them anywhere and going back to the IRS emails, or suing PBO, or talking impeachment. They do something, realize it isn’t working, then jump to something else to distract people from their nothingness.
And to actually apologize would tell the world what kind of jerks they really are.

I don’t think there’s a hell hot enough or a punishment great enough for the despicable media and politicians who demeaned and slandered this poor young man. I hope he was kept away from all the ugliness and I pray he never learns of it as he takes time to heal. May all the hatefulness these people poured on this man be returned to them a thousand fold. Miss Karma has a very big job ahead of her and will need all the help we can give her in November.

GE TOD! ICYMI A “Blame Obama for everything” neo-con W. flack gets taken to school…

    Here is Elliott’s thesis:

The Middle East that Obama inherited in 2009 was largely at peace, for the surge in Iraq had beaten down the al Qaeda-linked groups. U.S. relations with traditional allies in the Gulf, Jordan, Israel and Egypt were very good. Iran was contained, its Revolutionary Guard forces at home. Today, terrorism has metastasized in Syria and Iraq, Jordan is at risk, the humanitarian toll is staggering, terrorist groups are growing fast and relations with U.S. allies are strained….

…A few points. The first is to note that the Middle East Obama inherited in early 2009 was literally at war—Israel and the Gaza-based Hamas were going at each other hard until nearly the day of Obama’s inauguration. Obama managed to extract himself from that one without breaking the Middle East. In reference to a “contained” Iran, I would only note that Iran in 2009 was moving steadily toward nuclearization, and nothing that the Bush administration, in which Elliott served, had done seemed to be slowing Iran down. Flash forward to today—the Obama administration (with huge help from Congress) implemented a set of sanctions so punishing that it forced Iran into negotiations. (Obama, it should be said, did a very good job bringing allies on board with this program.)….

….Elliott writes that, in 2009, U.S. relations with Arab allies were good. But these relations, in many cases, were built on lies and morally dubious accommodations. He states that “the most populous Arab country is Egypt, where Obama stuck too long with Hosni Mubarak as the Arab Spring arrived, and then with the Army, and then the Muslim Brotherhood President Mohammed Morsi, and now is embracing the Army again.” Let’s break this down for a minute. It was the policy of several administrations to maintain close relations with Egypt’s military rulers. It was Bush administration policy to maintain close relations with Mubarak. Perhaps the 2011 uprising in Egypt could have been avoided had the Bush administration, in honoring its “Freedom Doctrine,” engineered Mubarak’s smooth departure several years before Cairo exploded….

…I’m sure Elliott remembers that in 2006, the Bush administration helped bring the terrorist group Hamas to power, by engineering elections that neither the Palestinian Authority nor Israel actually wanted. I’m sure he also remembers that President Bush (along with a series of presidents before him) failed utterly to bring about a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians….continued

How can he remember anything when the premise or the argument is that the Middle-East problem began under President Obama? The analogy can be seen in the belief for some on the ultra-right lane that the world began 2014 years ago, with the death and resurrection of Jesus-Christ. Or, some even go one step deeper: 9/11 happened under Obama as the Bush father-daughter couple is happy to repeat ad nauseam to the believers.

Corresponding to the recent kick off of the 2014 FIFA world cup, shaghai-based artist ‘red’ hong yi has painted a portrait of three football superstars — cristiano ronaldo, neymar and lionel messi — using only her feet and a soccer ball. eight different colored paints are contained in buckets, which the artist uses to dip the football into. bouncing the ball between her feet, red carefully composes the images of the three faces onto a solid white canvas laid on the floor of a soccer pitch. the hues of each player’s jerseys are represented in the portraits as well as physical characteristics that make them immediately familiar to the viewer. take a look at the video below to see how the large-scale work was made and the final result.

Interesting article about the Mississippi primary.

“WASHINGTON — Voting rights for black people did not come easily in Mississippi in 1955, but the Rev. George Lee was not one to give up. Using his pulpit and his printing press, he tried to sign up African-Americans in the Delta to vote, despite threats to his life.”

There ya go, Bob! You can be old, white, and fat and still have a brain and be a liberal! These generalizations aren’t helping, IMO.

Plus, only because of the need to fight this current crowd of RWNJs (because we’re about to go out of our minds!) would liberals be talking about anybody’s age, race, or weight THIS MUCH, I firmly believe. We can’t lose our souls and become like the crazy haters.

You nailed the -isms and the *lack of* points, perfectly, Bob! Zero in and get ’em! #HoneIt

          Most definitely, Jacqueline.

PBO never, ever attacks based on soul-less memes.

It’s the hate, the misogyny, the racism, the GREED, the xenophobia, the science-based reality DENIAL that must be brought to the forefront of accountability.

Just received one of those scary (oh, I am trembling) emails asking for money, this time for the democrats.org.
I have no problem with their doing fundraising, it is essential. Here is what it said:

    John —

    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Take a moment, and let that sink in. Think of everything he and Republicans like him have stopped us from doing in the Senate: Raising the minimum wage, passing the Paycheck Fairness Act, and just about every other piece of progress President Obama and other Democrats have pushed for.

If they could do that in the minority, what do you think they would do with a majority?

Click here to donate $3 or more, hold the Senate, and retire Mitch McConnell — for good.

Then it went on discussing how to give etc.

This is the email I sent back, something I would recommend any of us do every time we get one of these scare tactic emails.

“Just as a point of information. I, and many others I know, do not respond to scare tactics. We tend to respond to far more positive messages, like those the President presented in 2008 and 2012 and throughout his time in office.

As an example, I would have sent this out with the message, “McConnell is on the verge of losing. Imagine what it would be like to get rid of the Senate GOP leader and others that obstruct progress in this country? We are close to doing just that as well as getting rid of other obstructionists around the country. Help us to give them the final push out the door.”

Then ask for a donation. It might work wonders. “

    • June 25, 2014 at 9:33 pm

PERFECTION!!! That is exactly the message these folk need to get, John, and it’s up to us to deliver it to them. Have sent a few, myself 🙂

“Together.” “We……………..” PBO. Quiet the spirit within your core; keep his back with your support; and donate where you feel your calling. But most of all remember what we did twice when all the money in this country came up against us. We, Together Stayed Together and stood, worked the phones, wore our shoes off, and got callouses on our hands from writing and getting people to vote and then following up to get them to fulfill that promise. “Together…..We’re…….Pounding….The rock…” President Barack Obama.

We have heard his voice with his message, now do not let the opposition put you in fear; keep your calmness filled with goodness and just pledge to do it. We. Will. Keep Pounding…. ….. Remember he has always been consistent with us. Consistent and Persistent. We Move Together. HZ

Absolutely we will again! In the Republican primary yesterday in Oklahoma, the candidate who used the “dark money” did not win. The one who won is nothing to brag about, but it was good to know people turned off the chief carpetbagger…..Ted Cruz!….and his moneyed pals.

I love the image, we will keep pounding the rock. That’s what Michaelangelo did, and eventually the artist in him brought out David, the Pieta, Moses, and more. We will keep pounding……it’s hard work…..and bring out a Democratic Senate and improved House for PBO.

HZ and Bob, thank you for calming the troubled spirits here. I said on a previous post, that I believe that in late 2016, PBO’s approval rating will 24 be in the high 60s and low 70s. I truly believe that. What he is doing is pounding the rock. Results aren’t seen in 24 hours, or even 24 months.

“I said on a previous post, that I believe that in late 2016, PBO’s approval rating will 24 be in the high 60s and low 70s. I truly believe that.”

But the polls won’t show it…they will show him in the low 40’s with endless MSM narratives about him being as bad as or worse than GWB. The current polls do not reflect PBO’s true approval rating, and the 2016 polls won’t. The powers that be (who own the polling outfits and direct the MSM narratives) do not want him to seem to be leaving the Presidency on a high note, and thus they will calibrate their polls and narratives accordingly.

To give you my honest opinion, I believe that PBO is currently in the low to mid fifties. The polls right now do not accurately reflect his approval rating.

        June 25, 2014 at 10:12 pm

I think you are right on his present approval rating. We have to keep pushing and pushing….”pounding the rock” even the media, and force them to take notice.
