Every morning Morose Joe goes off on Hillary . He has another target and he means to smear her like he’s done this president for six years+.
For those of you who think the media favors Hillary… Wrong!
So…, Unreal how this show is basically the Rinse Prebus show on steroids.

Jovie, my hats off to you for stomaching it every morning. It would get me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. How are things going in Florida these days?

    • July 8, 2014 at 7:42 am

We don’t think the media “favors” Hillary. We said that the media would like Hillary to be the only DEM candidate because they think she has a lot of baggage and can be easily beat by a GOPer. We also think the media loves to use the Clintons to take cheap shots at PBO and to create rifts among DEMS.

      • July 8, 2014 at 7:53 am

Second part I agree. But media would like nothing more to get rid of Hillary now. They’re going after her awfully early . Campaign hasn’t even begun yet and all they do is rag on her.
Some of the ragging I agree with, but some is over the top.
And no matter how much I can’t stand her personality and some of her foreign policy creds, she’s still one heck of a lot better than any republican.

          July 8, 2014 at 8:19 am

Oh for sure – if she’s the Dem nominee I would vote for her over a GOPer in a heart beat. I think most Dems would. But I think the media is using her now as a distraction. If you notice, their ragging on her has nothing to do with policy but usually involves something silly some GOPer said or wrote in a book – something completely ridiculous that can be easily debunked.

my remark was to HF. Hillary is useful to slam and smear PBO and if she gets a beating as well the MSM considers it a double whammy.

    • July 8, 2014 at 8:14 am

It’s rainy season here in florida. As campaign season heats up, many are , unfortunately, clueless of who is running in midterms. All people know is what is being said about this president. Sadly.
But starting in October OFA better start opening some offices. 🙂

Interesting what will be Perry’s excuse to the President’s invitation – the GOPers just can’t help opening mouth and putting in foot.

            July 8, 2014 at 8:53 am

I’m surprised – but hope the meeting goes well for all. Maybe Rick has decided he needs some “bipartisan” for his 2016 campaign?

            • 31 hopefruit2
              July 8, 2014 at 9:04 am

I’m now inclined to believe that PBO wanted the meeting all along, and Perry, in typical dishonest GOP fashion, made it seem like he Perry first proposed the meeting.

Things happened too quickly for me to believe that this meeting wasn’t already on PBO’s agenda.

                July 8, 2014 at 9:13 am

From what I read it does seem likely – PBO will always let someone else take the accolades IF it gets what he wants done – he always wants the WIN/WIN while the GOP are forever looking for the WIN/LOSE.

I was having a mini nightmare (while awake) thinking of the US having another dumb Texan as President. The world could not handle it – at all!!

If you don’t think the media works for the GOP, this ridiculous tweet from ABC World news ought to change your mind right there. I would expect a tweet like that from RNC Chair, not from an “objective” national media outlet.

Good morning. We’re seeing some impressive campaign work by our candidates for both governor, congress and the state house. People are learning what it takes in terms of day to day hard work, planning and fundraising. I think political campaigning was dramatically transformed by President Obama two successful runs. The professionalism of the field work I am seeing today is literally light years away from the days when John Kerry ran. The Democratic party has wised up and I hope and pray it makes a difference.

I agree Jackie. In 2010, the Dems had not yet latched on to PBO’s campaign strategy. But since then I noticed Dems started to make gains in non-Presidential elections. I always tell folks that last’s year’s election is a better predictor than 2010 of how Dems will fare in the 2014 midterms. The media are eerily silent about the governor races because they can’t spin it as “Good news for the GOP.” In 2010, GOP was all the rage not only for congress but for the governor races as well.

On another note, I know that DWS has gotten a bad rap Twitter and on TOD, but I think she is actually doing quite well as DNC chair. When I tell people that since she came on board in 2011, the Dems have not significantly lost any major election cycle, my point seems to get lost amid the complaints that she’s not making enough TV appearances to fight the 24 hr news cycle GOP propaganda. I think her job is to win elections, not to be flitting frantically from one phony news cycle to the next. Cable TV appearances do not an election make. Boots on the ground combined with other methods are far more effective. Just ask Alan Grayson who lost his seat the same cycle he was on the TV machine yapping away 24-7

    Gooood Morning everyoneeeeee…

Yesterday ..I was schooled by Donna…HF…and others re: the Media Hype around Hillary Clinton’s candidacy….I must say…I did have a few knee jerk reactions…and buttons pushed…TME came up with a saying….President Obama is my North Star and I am facing North….this is a tremendous focus point as we work to add More Dems to the House and strengthen our hand in the Senate…..

I want to thank EVERYONE for their insight and analysis…..it is invaluable…

      I wrote about this yesterday.
      Bloomberg is only about Bloomberg.
He would be happy to hurt Democrats.

Agreeing with him on gun regulation Does Not ally us with Bloomberg.

Hagan Landrieu Pryor Alison Michelle Begich, etc. should tell their constituents whatever is necessary to keep their seats. Lie, bring weapons to rallies, whatever it takes.

Good Morning Chips and TOD. Looks like Mark is hungry.

  26. July 8, 2014 at 9:32 am

    GM TODville.

A lightbulb went off in my head with Jovie and HF2 upthread discussion.

All this MSM discussion of Hillary (whether pro or con) is just another way to divide Dems, particularly PUMAs and older women who really want a female President.

Posted last night that the SCOTUS ruling for Hobby Lobby is not a “women’s issue,” it’s a quality of life issue that should motivate every American who is a non-hypocrite needs to vote Dem in November. Hmmm, where have I heard “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” before?

Agree with HF2 that MSM are rubbing their hands together gleefully at the thought of more Clinton-bashing — why, the stories practically write themselves! (meaning no effort needed by political writers)

Another example of the MSM treating ANY issue or news item as a “special interest” — think about how they report on “black” issues or “Latino issues” or “women’s issues” — what about “white issues” or “Asian issues” (outside of the context that China is going to take over the world soon).

As an early O’Malley supporter, I’m concerned about what HF2 said ages ago about rumored affair and love child (with one of the most gorgeous women on the planet, if Google images are correct — I don’t remember the woman’s name who isn’t familiar to me since I don’t see northeast local media. I want a true progressive (such as VP Biden) to be the Dem candidate for 2016, but shudder to think what the MSM will do to a genuinely nice guy like O’Malley.

Thankfully the main islands of Japan escaped Typhoon Nei full force. From the overnight thread:

    • July 8, 2014 at 9:38 am

      I expressed myself poorly here.

My point is that the “white” perspective is the default, the given, for US media. Anything issue that isn’t universally popular with the hipsters or other elite is labeled and reported as a “wedge” issue by the MSM.

        July 8, 2014 at 3:26 pm

Totally agree with your comment, Arapaho. Nothing wrong with your expression from my point of view. Wishing safety to all our Japanese friends
