Hi, CarolMae It’s good to see you. I hope you’re feeling better. Congratulations on First.

I went to help out at with a monthly mailing from my church, when I came back on line a Malaysian plane was probably shot down bt Russian/Separatists from Ukraine, & Israel might start a ground attack on Gaza.

      • July 17, 2014 at 5:11 pm

It’s horrible isn’t it? I saw the Malaysian news was just breaking when I checked into physical therapy. Now I check on the internet it’s Gaza Strip. I’m havering problems with my IP and Apple ID. I got it fixed on my laptop but not on my new or old iPad. Staying on the computer for any length of time makes me dizzy but couldn’t resist the pop up and saying howdy! Thanks sjterrid. 🙂

So good to see you CarolMaeWY,
      Congratulations on the “GOLD” – you’re #1!!!

So much is going on in the world, but I pray that your day has been blessed, and filled with hope and a ray of sunshine.
I do hope that you’re doing well my friend.

      Healing hugs for you {{{{CarolMaeWY}}}}

Thank you Cindy! I just couldn’t resist the pop up when I saw it. 😉 It is a sunny day for me now. Unfortunately I can’t fix the violence but I’m grateful Pres. Obama is our POTUS now. Violence begets violence I’m afraid.

      • July 17, 2014 at 10:43 pm

I’m doing okay. Getting physical therapy and that is keeping me busy.

Mr. 57 was out walking Kasper and Nickelby. I waited for him to get home – we had a sick bird in the yard and I wanted him to deal with it, and not let Nickelby be the Great Hunter.

I really have to get going on my blog – the three of them walking down the street was so effing cute – I have to post photos. My ‘boys’. No wonder everyone in the neighborhood says how adorable they are!

          • July 18, 2014 at 3:39 pm

That would be great; I will look forward to it. 🙂 I was just trying to write an email to Chips but I get distracted so easily. My timing is also lousy. Have I told you how I’ve messed up all household computers when we had to change IP’s? Don’t even want to uses them now. Grrrrr.
Are any of your dogs butt wigglers? I think that is so cute when they wiggle their whole body. . .

Kasper for sure is a butt-wiggler. Pearl’s tail is hilarious: a little short tail (with no hair), and she wags it a mile a minute, but the rest of her is still.

Love them to bits, all of them.

What did you do to your computers? Try to breathe, and solve the problem. 57 needs to talk to Carol Mae, so her computer better behave!

              • July 18, 2014 at 6:42 pm

LOL! I HAD to change to a new IP. No choice. I’m not able to update apps or other little things that need updating. It has made my iPad unbearably slow. My laptop keeps asking for a new server to get or send mail and none of this is in my head so I have to look everything up on how to fix it. Very annoying.
Love the butt wiggles, ours have theirs too.
                Start writing. . . Carol 😉

What’s happening today is too horrible to put into words. We are seeing a world gone mad where there are no rational explanations for anything.

Get all Western journalists out of Gaza so they can’t disprove our “human shields” or “Hamas” teens playing soccer reasons for bombings:

Enough about them; they would criticize PBO no matter what he did!!!!

    • July 17, 2014 at 5:11 pm

They are use to covering those who can only deal with one thing at a time. They can’t seem to fathom that there are those — such as PBO — who can multi-task…which is a good thing because there is more than one issue happening in the world.

Would that they show as much concern about the violence happening here in the U.S. How about criticizing the GOP Congress who thinks it’s okay to ignore people suffering in this country.

They want him to declare war on the world & send in thousands of Americans to be killed – then they can say he is “just like GWB”

The US media ALWAYS wants the President to act – and then regret – not gonna happen with PBO in charge.

Honestly, if the majority of the Israeli people support this invasion and if it’s endorse by the Israeli cabinet, then they have chosen to become a pariah state. Israel is showing itself to be no better than the worst civilizations in history who chose violence and bloody invasion as an answer to disputes. The blood of every Palestinian they murder in the next days is on their hands.

        July 17, 2014 at 5:42 pm

Isn’t this maddening, sickening, revolting? Why does Israel keep electing these blood-thirsty leaders whose only response is more war and more death and violence?

      • July 17, 2014 at 10:47 pm

I totally agree with you, Jackie. It’s reprehensible. What’s the point of fighting for “holy land”, if the land is soaked with the blood of innocent children?

What can one say? Very heartrending that the default position is war for too many of these 21st C ‘leaders’. How can they not care about humanity in general and their own peoples in particular? How can they, either side, believe that killing will ‘settle’ the conflict! My heart trembles for those children and young people on both sides who have never known anything else but war.

I cannot wrap my head around groups of people who think bloodshed is the answer.

Generation after Generation – senseless death

Why can’t the leaders of these factions meet in the colosseum or arena and fight to the death and leave the civilians to live in peace

There was a demonstration this past weekend at the Federal building with Israelis on one side of the street and Palestine’s on the other and – guess what – a fight broke out.

      It’s confirmed.
Also confirmed gas fields in Syria under attack.
Yesterday airport in Kabul under fire.
And Gaza, whose water is controlled by unfriendly outside entities, is running out of water. Also, I doubt there is any or much electricity coming into Gaza. I don’t think most Americans understand what is hapening.

    A memory from my childhood.

I don’t remember the book’s title. And I don’t remember much of the plot. But the novel’s denouement was that Israel was about to launch nuclear strikes against Arab capitals on air force jets. And the US president orders carrier jets to intercept and shoot down the Israelis.

It feels like the world has decided to spin out of control today.

I see where PBO told Malaysian PM that crash site must be preserved until intl. investigators arrive. I saw photos/vids of people walking around there almost immediately after the report of the crash, picking among the debris. I read somewhere there was looters, don’t know if that’s what was going on, but there was no official presence to prevent the tampering.

    Diplomacy in Action
‘The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and CollegeWeekLive, an online enrollment solutions provider, are partnering to conduct virtual college fairs to encourage more international students to study in the United States. This partnership spotlights the strength and diversity of U.S. higher education and assists the State Department’s EducationUSA network to provide accurate, current, and comprehensive information on U.S. higher education to students around the world. While making up less than four percent of students enrolled in U.S. higher education, international students studying in the United States contributed more than $24 billion to the U.S. economy last year.
    …………………..snip …………………..

    Upcoming fairs include:

August 13 (Global Fair: International Student Day)
October 1 (Regional Fair: Europe, Middle East, and Africa International Student Day)
October 14 (Regional Fair: Latin America International Student Day)
November 19 (Flagship Global Fair: International Student Day — IEW)

The State Department promotes education diplomacy by supporting the EducationUSA network of more than 400 advising centers in 170 countries around the world. Each year, millions of students receive information on how to apply to accredited U.S. colleges and universities from EducationUSA advisers.

Budget critics air laundry list of school cuts

    By: Sarah Karp / July 17, 2014
Tags: finance and budgets librarians school budgets

With a new mandate that students have daily gym class and a policy calling for more arts instruction, school librarians are becoming increasingly rare, speakers charged at hearings on the district’s budget. At the Kennedy-King College hearing, one of three held late Wednesday, speakers also criticized cuts to Simeon High’s career education programs, cuts to welcoming schools that took in students displaced by closings, the additional money being funneled to charters and a plan to save $6 million by reorganizing bus aides for disabled students.

    Simeon’s career education loses out

Another principal decision that came under fire was the decision to close the electrician program at Simeon Vocational High School. Latisa Kindred said she was laid off after the principal and the network office decided the school could no longer afford the program, and that an automotive teacher was laid off as well.

Kindred told the budget panel that she had been able to get students certified as well as into a union. “Working with their hands gives students hope,” she said. “I want to know how [career education] decisions are made? What guidelines are principals given when they make these autonomous decisions?”

Asean Johnson’s mother Shoneice Reynolds said she was at a meeting at Simeon about these cuts on Tuesday night and many students came out to speak about the importance of the programs. “It was a beautiful meeting and we invited CPS and the fact that you did not come shows you do not care about our children,” she said.

Also, an older gentleman spoke about being able to make a living based on his participation with the electrician program at Simeon.

A White Girl Said She Was Shoved. A Black Boy Denied It. Guess Who Went To The Principal’s Office?
