    Hi LL & Chips …

From the bottom of the previous thread …. worthwhile ….

These folk are quite careful about what they post and have been so throughout the many months I’ve been following them ….

What Is The Buk SAM System, Why Is It Important, And Do Ukraine’s Separatists Have One?

And, you will note that, once again, if you’re going to tweet anything you should realize that ‘the internet’ has a way of never forgetting irrespective of what you think you’ve deleted.

    from beebs live blog

A tweet (in Russian) from a key Twitter account used by pro-Russian separatists, in which they claim to have captured a Buk surface-to-air missile system, has now been deleted, BBC Monitoring observes. Ukrainians say the Malaysian plane could have been downed with a Buk, but pro-Russian rebels have now denied they have it.

When they find out it’s been cancelled they might mandate that it be done….at night…during the week….when school is back in……to make the Obama family miserable.

        They probably defunded ACORN too.

Russia’s emergency services have reportedly asked the Ukrainian government for permission to work at the crash site.

Why? It’s not their country, despite their claims.

Exactly what I also did. Yet they play Palin & Cheney hate-screeds from start to finish. But PBO talking about infrastructure is not important to our corporate propaganda outlets. A shame

      • July 17, 2014 at 2:32 pm

But many here (including me) also raised the concern of what might happen if/when she went from being a guest pundit to having her own show…concerns based on what was observed with others who had gone the same route.

Some of us knew she would have to sell her soul to get/keep that job. These propagandists are not all going rogue, they are following orders. The fact that every msm news source (especially cable “news”) churns out anti-PBO propaganda 24/7 is not a coincidence. It is what they are paid to do.

      • July 17, 2014 at 2:40 pm

She was. And we also said that we hoped she didn’t fall prey to the same virus all progressive darlings get when they get their own shows. That was too much to ask.

His statement would be true even if the plane had not crashed. Infrastructure in a winning message for Dems and MSM/GOP know it. The media ignored PBO’s prior speeches this week, what was their excuse then?

      • July 17, 2014 at 2:50 pm

The MSM not covering PBO events and only focusing on any and everything negative Obama is one of the reasons they are always blindsided by this President’s successes.

    • 37 jackiegrumbacher
      July 17, 2014 at 3:03 pm

Nerdy, this stupid man doesn’t get that the president knows exactly what he’s doing. Every one of the people who attend that event will tell hundreds others, who will pass it on to hundreds more. That’s how social media works and it’s why the president keeps doing what he’s doing. He’s creating a record and building a message for Democrats to repeat. And he’s getting local coverage where people actually care whether their bridges and highways fall down.

      • 38 EricFive
        July 17, 2014 at 3:08 pm

THIS!!! Very astute comment Jackie. They mock PBO for having been a community organizer, but the lessons he learned allow him to bypass the corrupt msm and get his message directly to the people. PBO has the first truly grassroots presidency, little wonder those at the top don’t see or realize the ground beneath them is shifting.

President Obama spelling out the financial success our economy is enjoying.
TV stations have no interest in facts.
Immediately their attention goes back to rumor, speculation, and unfounded theories about a horrible plane crash in Ukraine.

PBO after offering a sympathetic remark to the passengers and families of downed airliner is talking about what is happening in the actual world we live in. Plane came down in the actual world, too, I get that, but the speculation should be able to wait until the President’s address is concluded.

President Obama says the plane crash is a “terrible tragedy” and that his first priority will be to determine if US citizens were on board.

what the heck happened to the passenger manifest? MAS had the same problem with the last flight tragedy.

  11. 42 dotster3
    July 17, 2014 at 2:22 pm

PBO didn’t really say much about the downed plane, just acknowledging that it happened and thoughts for families. As others have noted, he always waits to have all the facts. I heard the best info will come from U.S. sources as to the circumstances—-have the most sophisticated observation equipment, likely already know most of the details. Some surprising new info coming in needs to be verified, lots of conflicting reports, all kinds of people from all kinds of places jumping in with unconfirmed data. Facts should be known soon according to so-called experts.

yup. we can all afford to be irresponsible but not him. As a matter of fact, none of the world leaders have held a PC on this issue so far. Everyone is awaiting real and true info.

      • 44 EricFive
        July 17, 2014 at 2:40 pm

PBO’s approach (waiting to have all info, measured response, not going into fetal position when tragedy strikes) works for me. McCain would have already started WWIII.

And of course my daughter is trying to fly from Chgo to Dallas today——sigh—–and even tho perfect weather day in Chgo, guess weather is bad in Tx.——-so delay, delay, delay, back to the gate, deplane, more delay. Now finally took off and at least she still has her sense of humor mostly intact—posted a photo of the rude dude in front of her with his seat so far declined into her lap that she said she may give him a scalp massage.
I hate flying—–even when it’s not one of these horrible news days.

    • July 17, 2014 at 3:13 pm

It is annoying that whenever there is a crisis such as this, or civil/political unrest in certain countries, the knee-jerk reaction of the MSM so-called experts is to supply weapons or put boots on the ground…no matter for how long; no matter the cost. Yet, we can’t afford to take care of those in need at home.

The International Air Transport Association says the plane appeared to be flying through ordinary airspace when it crashed. “Based on the information currently available, it is believed that the airspace that the aircraft was traversing was not subject to restrictions,” the association said in a statement.

I don’t think Baker was prepared for the onslaught of pro-PBO pushback that he got from that comment. I suspect he thought his little tweet about PBO was oh-so clever and would garner him hi-fives, hundreds of retweets and favorites, and more snarkiness & snickering at PBO…

  38. July 17, 2014 at 3:24 pm

    The source of the tweet:

    Giorgi Kandelaki

MP at Parliament of Georgia, Deputy Chairman of European Integration Committee from UNM opposition

An English translation will likely appear in the next few hours ….

And, this has also been reported:

“Russian-backed separatist leader Igor Girkin (who also goes by the name of Strelkov) claimed credit. “The plane has just been taken down somewhere around Torez (Donetsk Oblast). It lays there behind the Progress mine. We did warn you – do not fly in ‘our sky.’ And here is the video proving another ‘bird’ falling down. The bird went down behind the slagheap, not in the residential district. So no peaceful people were injured.””

That Kyiv Post article also notes a “Life News” video report from the scene of the crash was scrubbed – but ‘the Internet’ prevailed in that various folk had already captured copies of it.
