Thanks to Nerdy for taking such good care of things while Chips’ mom is ill.

Out of all of those very important and informative tweets, I must say the last one with the doggy and the water hose is my favorite 🙂

“That’s not a political revolution; that’s the check out line at Whole Foods.”

Ha ha ha ha! Love that!

I am often in the elevator or the check-out line at my local Whole Foods inwardly rolling my eyes at my uber-stereotypical fellow shoppers – all while waiting to pay for my Step 4 grass-fed beef, pastured eggs, non-gmo corn chips, non pvc and bpa-free plastic wrap, fair trade chocolate bars, kava kava and kombucha and holding my reusable bags that I just pulled out of my Prius. 🙂 Those of us who shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s are not all rich, entitled, out-of touch liberals. Many of us are real folks who just want to eat consciously and healthily (and are lucky enough to have local access to good food and know how to shop carefully and work it into our budget), but we are pretty hilarious, when viewed from a distance 😉

Actually, I don’t find Trader Joe’s to be all that expensive when it comes to vegan or vegetarian food. It’s probably the cheapest place to buy vegan/veggie products if you compare the costs to what you’d pay at regular grocery stores. Whole Foods is mega expensive to the point where I never shop there (as I simply cannot afford their prices).

Trader Joe’s has good buys on a lot of stuff. I love Trader Joe’s! The Whole Foods near me actually has some decently-priced items (better than some of the grocery chains around here – at least on organic stuff) but you have to know what to buy. I and most of my friends do a combo by going to each store once a week. We shop for some stuff at Trader Joe’s and other stuff at Whole Foods. The Whole Foods trick is using coupons (yes, they have them now 🙂 ), buying on sale and not filling up the cart with stuff you don’t need, which is easy to do there.

My boyfriend was visiting from Italy and fell in love with Trader Joe’s. He said, “Wow! They smile at you and hand you free food and say ‘have a nice day’!” He also told me that the “California Estate Olive Oil” is as good as the best Italian olive oil and he wondered why so many American tourists come all the way to Italy to buy olive oil when we have such good stuff here at home. I got him a Trader Joe’s reusable bag to use in Italy and he loves it.

      GA Nena.

Didn’t read this article as I have zero interest in this story, i.e., caveat emptor, but it looks like emoprog dudebros are up in arms since it appears the Senate is actually doing something instead of whining about the Obama Administration.

Technology can’t be allowed to be used to hide Criminal acts.
Congress has got to do something. Internet was Not invented to plot Terrorism or criminal acts. The Telephone was used for Criminality & laws were passed to Tap Phone lines. Same should be true here. With a Warrant from a Judge.

    GA/GE TODville.

Next week will be busy for Merrick Garland, having to meet with so many GOP Senators. 🙂

    AF1 landed at 1:17 PM
Deputy Press Secretary Jennifer Friedman gaggled on board — for the
first time – and said Obama SCOTUS nominee Garland will meet next week
    w senators, including some R’s:
    Grassley, Murkowski and Toomey onTuesday
    Ayotte and King on Wednesday
Portman, Flake, Bennett and Warren on Thursday

I think she’s referring to Michael Bennet (D-CO), which means he’s the only Dem on Garland’s schedule, although Angus King is an “Independent” from Maine.

This tweet that NerdyW posted on the front page is heartbreaking not only for Austin TX, but for Beaverton OR too.

CNN has a message from the victim’s mother:
    http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/08/us/university-of-texas-homicide-investigation/index.html

“The police chief said additional charges may be filed, and he shared a message from the victim’s mother.

“She told me … please tell all your officers, please tell everyone at the University of Texas … everyone involved in this investigation, thank you,”

    Here’s more on the victim:
    http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2016/04/austin_police_chief_confident.html

“Weiser was a 2015 graduate of the Arts & Communications Magnet Academy in Beaverton, said Principal Michael Johnson. Faculty and former classmates at the grade 6-12 magnet school learned of her disappearance on Wednesday.

Weiser belonged to Dance West, a student dance troupe that performed with the Oregon Symphony a few times a year, said Julane Stites, the group’s director. She was in Austin on a full dance scholarship, the largest ever for a graduate of the magnet school, Stites said.”

Not a Bernie fan by any stretch of the imagination, but the way top execs are paid in US should be a crime:

Also don’t have Comcast in my area, instead the equally annoying TimeWarner cable.

“Delegates to the party conventions are also our representatives, and in states like Pennsylvania, we elect them directly. They may be pledged to vote for Trump or they may not be pledged to anyone. When they get to the convention, some of them will be designated by the whole state delegation to serve on committees where they will craft the platform and set forth the rules that will govern the nomination. We’re electing these people to do these jobs for us, and there’s nothing wrong with that. At least in theory, the only people voting for these delegates will be members of either the Republican or the Democratic Party, and they have a right to expect that members of their party will craft the platform, not independents who have no commitment or skin in the game.”
