I have only one week before I go under the knife. I had my right hip replaced last October and needed my right knee replaced too. Now I face that total knee replacement surgery on Monday, May 2nd. Knowing it is not easy makes it harder except for the fact that I have a huge motivation this time around. I have already bought my plane ticket for Munich in December for my daughter’s wedding. I ask for all of your prayers for my upcoming surgery.

OG – best wishes for a totally successful surgery and rapid recovery. It’s good you have such a potent goal.

I’ve had both knees totally replaced and 2 years apart. The surgery went well both times; recovery different. Do physical therapy as much as you can and take your pain killers religiously as they will help you do the physio. It’s a lot of hard work but you can do it!!

Thanks for all of your wishes. I plan to take my iPad with me to the Skilled Care Center after the hospital so will be able to keep up with all Obama news and all your informational posts. Thanks for all the advice too.

Two of my clients have had successful knee surgeries, one of them has had both done! The one who had both (separately) did his PT and exercises faithfully and had a great outcome with both and is very happy. The other client did not follow instructions and neglected her excercises. She walks fine and is pain free but her range of motion and mobility are limited. Do your excercises as your Dr. And PT tell you! 🙂

Visualizing success, safety and healing for you OG!

WOW, this is quite an amazing and ambitious project. So much there, scrolling top to bottom and to the right, a ton of stuff to explore.

This is Part 1 of 5 pieces!!!!

    • April 26, 2016 at 10:02 am

yes…thank you so much for this meta….David Maraniss….i think he knows much about the President…

from his essay…one of the poignant passages…

What kind of Black President has he been?

His life illuminates the complexity of that question. His white mother, who conscientiously taught him black history at an early age but died nearly a decade before her son reached the White House, would have been proud that he broke the racial barrier. But she also inculcated him in the humanist idea of the universality of humankind, a philosophy that her life exemplified as she married a Kenyan and later an Indonesian and worked to help empower women in many of the poorest countries in the world. Obama eventually found his own comfort as a black man with a black family, but his public persona, and his political persona, was more like his mother’s.

      • April 26, 2016 at 10:09 am

You’re so welcome. I’m struck by the sheer ambition of the series and the way he covers the full range and complexity of President Obama, the man. As you enter the first “room” by clicking on the right arrow, you see how many elements are covered quite brilliantly, both words and visuals. It’s literally possible to get lost exploring all those directions! Looking forward to the next 4 installments.

On a day, when I trek into the life’s sahara, I’ll just sit in the midst of that swirling harmattan & play this song. All will be at peace, sparkling in my desert. And the sparkling sands in that dessert will beckon my building blocks.

Cool Uncle Billy was the smoothest cat always in the room! He helped defined the Philly Soul sound that gave us so much great music!

Off to vote today! Can’t wait to have no more flyers in my mailbox, at my door, & those knocks on your weekend morning when you’re trying to get a couple more minutes of snooze time or on the damn loo! Relentless TV/Radio ads. I was actually impressed with one ad today – can you believe Hillary has ads on Youtube. When you click a vid you want to see, first those ads, right? You get a cool Hillary ad for a few seconds. Whoever went to her campaign is doing a great job re: outreach in different markets.

Okay, I didn’t watch the Bernie townhall, but if this occurred as these tweets suggest, Bernie is becoming more & more of a snake as time goes by; and Chris Hayles proves he’s just another newstainer:
