Co-sign! Let’s wrap up this Primary and get on with the business of electing a worthy successor to our irreplaceable President Obama.

Our May primary voter information pamphlets arrived in Saturday’s mail. All so very sad, nothing much to choose from. So, I made a few appropriate doodles on the faces of the ‘candidates’, several well-chosen descriptive words beside the photos, then stowed it under the trash bin below the sink for future reference!! I just couldn’t help myself!

Voting today was so quick and by paper ballot. Hopefully, the Democratic primary will be over soon and we will be on our way to selecting a worthy successor for President Obama.

Thankfully Minnesota law provides that if you die intestate, all of your wealth goes to your family which means that his living brothers and sisters (half or full) inherit his estate. That sounds fair although I assume Prince would have liked for some of his wealth to go to charities.

My polling place had a steady flow while I was there this morning. Every voting station had someone at it voting but there was no line of people to vote. It is harder to determine turnout now that we have early voting because you can’t judge turnout based on what you see on Election Day.
We also no longer have the computers registering our votes. We use the paper ballot. I likie this much better! 😉

I have been imploring everyone I know both family, friends co-workers and strangers to GOTV today. After the debacle with our Governor’s race a couple of years ago I’m taking nothing for granted.

Saw this on Facebook and just had to tweet it.

Our Republican dominated polling place was packed this morning with long lines. No one was talking so I couldn’t tell whether these were Trump voters. Stood behind a woman with a Democratic card that you have to show to get the right computer set up and she said she was very self-conscious about being a Democrat among so many R’s. I told her I was proud of it and would pin the damned sticker on my chest if I could.

People in reddish counties seldom see the whole state in their view of politics. Because the people around them share the same view, they think everyone does and they seldom venture into urban areas. I wonder if it ever surprises them when the state results are so different from the ones in their small precincts.

I try to listen to both sides. I don’t block people on twitter easily. But someone explain to me why I still follow Dave Sirota?

One of the Berniebros that I’ve been following called the Clintons child molesters today. That was it. Blocked.

And I had to block Randi Rhodes yesterday, when she spread the lie that HRC accepted Koch’s “endorsement”. Blocked.

    • April 26, 2016 at 4:08 pm

Afternoon TOD. Somehow I knew when Randi ended her show, she was going to go full emo……saw it coming. And I used to admire her talent for getting to the truth.

        April 26, 2016 at 4:15 pm

I use to like Randi too, but I can understand her some, because back in 2007 or so she got called out for calling Hillary something at a club show and lost her show. She was banned from tv and other places. Don’t think she will ever forgive the Clinton people.

        • April 26, 2016 at 4:45 pm

I began disliking her overall view of the Obama administration, which wasn’t “liberal” enough for her. On the last show I recall, she and a caller made big fun of Rev Al Sharpton’s show- called him a joke. That’s when I knew she had become just another bitter liberal, who lost her pragmatism. Good riddance.

I loved Randi Rhodes. I thought she was one of the smartest, most entertaining voices on radio. I’m deeply disappointed but alas, not that surprised.

          April 26, 2016 at 9:28 pm

Randi made no secret she did not like HRC because of something between Randi and the Clintons, I think Bill or their “people”. She made it sound as though she was fired from Clear Channel because of a stand up routine she did in SF calling HRC a “B”. I am disappointed in all of the so-called liberals on Radio except for Stephanie Miller.

John Cornyn: Ted Cruz Only Came To The Senate ‘To Run For President’

    Published APRIL 26, 2016, 11:58 AM EDT

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who has long had a contentious relationship with his Texas colleague Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), again declined to endorse Cruz’s presidential bid on Monday, and instead dissed his colleague for coming to the Capitol simply to launch a presidential bid.

“Clearly, he didn’t come here to remain in the Senate. He came here to run for president. And I think that perhaps explains the difference in tactics,” Cornyn told Texas radio station KERA News while discussing how he differs from Cruz.

Cornyn has so far declined to endorse a presidential candidate in the Republican primary, and he made it clear on Monday that he will not be endorsing Cruz or any of his opponents.

So much ‘ water is wet’ news in this, but it must be said. Must be pointed out.

I have said and mean it:

They long for the delusional world of Mad Men, where they pretend that they were big fish in a pond, when the truth is that they were fish in a pond where 90% of everyone else was shoved into sardine cans.

    When Was America Greatest?

    Margot Sanger-Katz
    APRIL 26, 2016

Donald Trump’s campaign slogan is “Make America Great Again.” His supporters, it turns out, disagree on when that was.

Other polls have asked Americans whether they prefer the past to the present. In March, Pew asked people whether life was better for people like them 50 years ago — and a majority of Republicans answered yes. Trump supporters were the most emphatic, with 75 percent saying things were better in the mid-1960s.

Democrats, though, were less enthusiastic about the past. Forty-eight percent said life was better now than it was 50 years ago, while 17 percent of Democrats said it was the same, and only 28 percent said it was worse. Political science research suggests that Americans’ optimism can be influenced by whether their political party is in the White House.

    No, political scientists.
Has nothing to do with who is in the White House.
The 90% of the rest of the folks were in sardine cans 50 years ago – they are out now, and, they’re not going back.

It’s the Nedarites, like Susan Sarandon, who gave us George W. Bush. Once again, they seem to be intent on repeating the 2000 debacle, in 2016, by facilitating the election of a right wing Republican president who will undo all the accomplishments of President Obama.

You know what, after losing to President Obama in 08’ Hillary got up off the canvas and dusted herself off and went to work campaigning for President Obama. She could have easily gone home and said “to hell with everybody.” But no, she went to work for President Obama as a valued member in his cabinet. I know one thing, it takes a strong heart and strong character to come back after losing to President Obama and hold your head up and she did it. Whatever she might have said in the past about President Obama, and whatever positions she might have taken I know one thing. If she was good enough for President Obama’s cabinet, she’s good enough to be President.
