This IS a big deal, AMK, even if few Americans will understand and appreciate it for some time. PBO is delivering these achievements so quickly that not many people are absorbing it all. We have to vote to continue his legacy in November or every good thing he has done will be overturned within weeks of January, 2017.

Morning Chips and early TODers. Today is election day in PA and I intend to do my part to deliver the final blow to the Bernie campaign. Please let this be the day when even his math challenged supporters see that the end has come. It’s a tight race between Sestak and McGinty, thanks to the millions spent by the DSCC to stop Sestak. We’ll see what the voters decide.

IhopeIhopeIhopeIhope! I’m so over his shenanigans, I can’t wait to never hear his name again. The latest is that I guess he said that it’ll be up to Hill to win over his supporters. This is part of the reason why we can never have nice things. Make it so even those without good math skills, get a damn clue. Good luck!

Once again, Bernie has it wrong! It’s up to Bernie to disillusion his supporters and tell them that they had better back Hillary in November or they face the nightmare of a Trump presidency. Hillary knew when to fold it in 2008 and stood up and endorsed Sen. Obama at the convention and urged her supporters to do everything in their power to elect him. In the end, she put her country over her personal ambition, which is a concept I have yet to see Bernie grasp.

          Here’s the story….http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/sanders-clinton-supporters-go-out-to-you

During a town hall with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on Monday, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told a supporter that it’s his choice whether to back Hillary Clinton if she becomes the Democratic presidential nominee.

A audience member who said he backs Sanders’ candidacy asked the senator whether he will encourage his supporters to back Clinton if she wins the nomination.

“We’re not a movement where I can snap my fingers and say to you or to anybody else what you should do, that you should all listen to me. You shouldn’t. You make these decisions yourself,” Sanders replied.

He then said that Clinton will have to court his supporters herself.

“And if Secretary Clinton wins, it is incumbent upon her to tell millions of people who right now do not believe in establishment politics or establishment economics, who have serious misgivings about a candidate who has received millions of dollars from Wall Street and other special interests,” he said. “She has got to go out to you.”

      GM JackieG.

From what @CBSradionews tells me this morning, Bernie says he will fight to the convention whether he has the delegates to win or not.

Their report said that Sanders wants his positions on Dem platform (editorial note: despite the fact he is not a Dem).

Also saw the many tweets of Isaac Davore yesterday, with lots of pics of @VP on Amtrak to Philly, in a northeast Philly diner with McGinty. Love Joe to pieces, but cringed when I saw that he compared McGinty to Jill (meaning she’s a looker I think, please correct me if I’m wrong — seems I have a tendency to misread articles 😦 ).

Best of luck to Joe Sestak (but if he wins the primary, another cudgel to be used by MSM to hammer PBO and @VP, along the lines of “hey look, DEMS don’t even respect either Obama or Biden).

Here’s the pool report on @VP in Philly with McGinty.

Oh and yes of course, I did vote for Hillary.. and I was worried that when this day came, I’d just be voting against someone.. but instead I did feel like I was voting FOR someone, that was nice.

Also, voted for DeRay for Mayor, though of course he not favored.. I really want to see some new young blood running things here. I hope he stays, no matter the outcome and continues to be a voice here- and hopefully will run for other offices too.

In ’08, my son and oldest granddaughter and I went to the polls. He’s a terrible tease, so he wouldn’t tell me who he was going to vote for. But when we got back outside, he looked at me, smiled, and started singing “God Bless America” at the top of his lungs. Granddaughter was embarrassed. I knew he meant Barack Obama, and I said “I’ll treat for lunch!” #GoodTimes

            GE catrst.

            Exactly, that’s why I loved @bbken92’s tweet.

Perfectly sums up what PBO has in his very being, his existence; a natural, effortless ease with children that they (the children) absolutely adore.

I’ve told the story here before, that after the 2008 election the local public (city) library hung a (headshot) poster of PBO on the partition that forms the front of the “Information Desk,” which made it eye-level for children, who ran from their parents to embrace the poster excitedly yelling “Obama.” Can’t tell you how cute that was.

Unless small American children have been indoctrinated by RWNJ (or MSM) relatives, this is still true.

PBO is a child magnet (think of the Baby Whisperer video, or heck, any event where PBO greets a child or children). Photos of him with infants are stunning — definitive portraits of strength and tenderness and beauty all rolled into one. Unmatchable by any person on this planet, IMHO.

A top member of Turkey’s ruling AK party (AKP) has called for taking secularism out of the new constitution, arguing it is a Muslim country.

Parliamentary speaker Ismail Kahraman, who is overseeing work on the draft charter, said Turkey should have a religious constitution.

But the head of the constitutional commission said the AKP had not discussed removing secular values.

Critics fear the modern state’s secular foundations are being eroded.

Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets of Iraq’s capital, Baghdad, in protest at a months-long political crisis and lack of reform.

Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr has asked his supporters to march towards the Green Zone, where the government is based.

He wants Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to press ahead with his plan to replace ministers appointed on the basis of political affiliation with technocrats.

Powerful parties in parliament have so far refused to approve the reshuffle.

Systemic political patronage has aided corruption in Iraq, depleting the government’s resources as it struggles to cope with declining oil revenue and the cost of the war against the jihadist group Islamic State.

    UH HUH

    UH HUH

Why are my lips pursed reading this?

Brand New Congress: 535 progressive candidates, 1 ticket

Some of the technology activists who were key to the Dean, Obama and Sanders campaign have a new, audacious program: they’re going to run 535 bipartisan candidates for office in the 2016 election, backed by a single website for fundraising, grassroots organizing and messages, based on Bernie Sanders’ political platform.

A recurring criticism of Sanders’ platform is that without a Congress and state-level governments to support him, President Sanders would just be one voice (albeit a powerful one). This hasn’t escaped the attention of activists who worked on the campaign. With Brand New Congress, progressives will have the chance to work together, across the country, in solidarity, to replace the incumbents who owe their jobs to the rich and powerful with new entrants who owe their jobs to the people and have sworn to fight for “a unified economic, social justice, and climate change platform.”

    • 98 57andfemale
      April 26, 2016 at 11:52 am

And each and every of the 535 will have their own demands, their own agenda, their own constituency to answer to. Isn’t this similar to the “Act Blue” at dkos?

The best kept secret hidden in plain sight: BS has precious little interest in anything anyone has to say. He doesn’t talk to voters, he doesn’t identify and respond to local concerns, even in VT. Bernie is all about Bernie – he’s a whiny leftist narcissist. He’s Trump.

      • 99 MadameSoph
        April 26, 2016 at 12:28 pm

Google “5 Star Movement Beppe Grillo”
I said this when Sanders’ angry populism and the “Berniebros” first became apparent: if Trump is Berlusconi, Sanders is our Beppe Grillo.

Grillo started his own party using the same kind of angry populism appeal to a combination of far left activists, young students/unemployed grads and older, right-leaning xenophobes. The movement was web-driven and based on huge rallies and lots of web and social media presence and bullying. It also was supposed to be an anti-establishment, leaderless movement, with votes conducted online, etc. But, when he actually managed to get a sizable amount of 5 Star candidates elected to parliament, he forbid them to forge any coalitions or make any deals with other parties, preventing the forming of a government, which would have necessitated new elections. This was during the worst part of the crisis, when the country needed stimulous, etc. So, instead of working with the Partito Democratico (their Democratic party) so a more left agenda could pass easily, he threatened his members with expulsion from the 5 Star party if they worked with the Dems, thereby necessitating a Left/Right coalition and resulting in much less progress, which enabled him to keep complaining about the “establishment”

Maybe that’s why PM Renzi prefers Hillary Clinton. He’s seen this movie before.
