Y, thank you! Being offline all day and stepping in to ‘Leave a Comment’ felt like a warm welcome. 😀 😀 Now I’m busy scrambling backwards to see what I’ve missed.

Congrats, VC! I gather that all hell broke loose while I was driving to Oakland and helping hang pictures in my son’s condo. President Obama dropped the mic at the WHCD, and then idiot GOP voters dropped the turd of Donald Trump in the Presidential campaign punchbowl. WOW!

Yes indeed, Judith, you smartly avoided the 2nd part of this hell. Good family time beats anything the GOPs have to offer. Hope your son’s condo is now ‘ready to go’! 😀 😀

Sorry, never mind that’s a parody account but it very well could have been that clown they just nominated.

        GE DonnaDem.

This is a turning point for America, led by the clueless (Who Me) media.

Hopefully historians will remark on the fact that a moderate Dem created a frenzy in the #WhitePowerStatusQuo to nominate a narcissistic demagogue who fueled the baseless “birther” movement, based solely on his “me, me, me” rhetoric.

Hopefully too, historians will remember the #ZodiacKiller meme.

        @jonfavs RT’d this:

Debbie Wasserman Schultz and those at the DNC have been given a gift to end all gifts. Sitting in their laps is an opportunity to finally create a singular message that every single candidate can easily adopt in their mayoral, gubernatorial, congressional, or senatorial run. All they have to do is make sure everyone is onboard with the messaging and they will have the opportunity to use Donald Trump’s historical unfavorability against the Republican Party. As long as they seize this opportunity, they have a chance to truly organize and implement a winning campaign strategy over the next six months.

Trump us now saying how nice Christi & Carson are and thanked them for their support.

On one hand, this is good; on the other, I wish that they would wait until after Bernie drops out to announce their support for Hillary. Already having BernBots showing up in my FB timeline castigating her as a Repub shill…

Sanders beat Hillary in Indiana. No surprise, IMO

  10. May 3, 2016 at 9:38 pm

I did see FLOTUS on NCIS, and our wonderful First Lady did a good job. Wasn’t long enough though, but she was good. My first time watching NCIS, but I have to admit I want to see it next week to see the conclusion.

  11. May 3, 2016 at 9:43 pm

The point is, if Bernie Sanders insists on “contesting” a convention he knows has already been decided, even people who like Sanders will start to see him as interested only in himself. In fact, some in his home state of Vermont already have. The longer he keeps up the facade of a competition, though, the more his actual influence, both at the convention and among voters, will diminish. If Hillary Clinton proves that she – and by that time President Obama – can unite liberals and the center-Left and put together a general election coalition without Sanders’ explicit support, there will be little incentive to allow Sanders or his platform to get much airing either at the convention or the general election campaign trail.

al predicted in his newsletter (worth signing up for) that bernie would win indiana by at least 6%. about the only person i saw saying a bernie win, including nate silver/538 with a hillary win by similar margin. al also explained how this “win” is meaningless and how the den primary has been done for quite while.

  22. May 3, 2016 at 10:38 pm

So Hillary lost to Bernie. I read some comment were some guy said he never thought he would be choosing between Hillary or Donald. He goes on to say he wish Michelle Obama would run because he just adore her. Sir keep adoring cause Michelle Obama would jump that White House fence before she run for any political office and I do not blame her. Some of those racists comments the Fox viewers made about Malia when it was release about her going to Harvard was out of this world. Eight years is enough for the Obamas.

I am sad to see my President and his family leave the Whitehouse…but I am also so so happy for them to get their lives back.
President Obama and the 1st family have served an ungrateful nation with CLASS and HONOR!!!!

The ungrateful piece of the nation – but the rest of us have known how well he’s served us with CLASS and HONOR! And will never forget it. I’m happy for them, too, that they’ll be “loose” after January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • May 3, 2016 at 10:53 pm

LynnyD, you are so right. Ungrateful racists ass nation.

      • May 3, 2016 at 11:01 pm

Against my better judgement I read some comments, Malia were call a nigger, monkey, ape, they question how she got into Harvard, it wasn’t cause of her grades, it was cause who her daddy were, on and on and on. Maybe one reason why she is taking the gap year, they will be out of the W.H. when she go to college.

One of the best parts of MSNBC coverage of primary election nights is when they do a roundtable with the young women (and sometimes men) reporters who are assigned to the various campaigns. All show remarkable knowledge and depth about their individual candidate’s place in the race and so much more. So nice to see the (mostly) new faces!

Large platters are passed from hand to hand as each person spoons their own food onto their plate, exactly how and when they want it. A few might start with a separate salad, for example, and then follow it with the main course, while others heap it right beside their meat. Another set skips the greens entirely. In the end, every plate is different. The only standardized thing across the entire dining hall is that just about everyone is smiling.
While many of us take this kind of dining for granted (it’s how most people usually eat at home), the ability to tweak a meal to your own particular taste — from timing to portion size — is a relative luxury.

“Many of our guests feel helpless in many ways — whether it’s because they don’t have a permanent home or just can’t afford to buy enough food. Family-style dining allows them to have control over something,” says Jarreau Freeman, Sunday Breakfast communications coordinator. “It’s a tiny thing, but instead of getting feeling like they’re getting a handout, they’re helping themselves. It’s empowering.”

When Joseph Noil was buried in 1882, he was buried under a headstone that misidentified him as “Joseph B. Noel,” with no acknowledgement that the Civil War Navy Veteran had received the Medal of Honor.

Bernadette Ricks is Noil’s great-great-great granddaughter. Last week, she and her daughter attended a ceremony at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Cemetery to dedicate a new headstone correcting both his last name and recognizing him as a Medal of Honor recipient, part of his story her family had never known.

“I have gotten calls and texts to “go easy on my public opinions of this race,” to “not hitch my wagon so strongly,” to “be careful.”
Let me be as clear as possible, I would rather sell iced tea from a stand on the side of the road than defend this behavior. My worth isn’t connected to you inviting me to happy hours.
Who is careful with Black women? Who will love us for real? Not that chosen one, easily digestible, trained in your talking points one. All of us.”
