        Wow, Dudette, what a delight!

Don’t know anything about James Corden, but he’s a riot…

        “Wonder Cats!” LOL

        “dressed head-to-toe in neon” ROTFL

Perfect antidote to this appalling election season, thank you!

          😀 😀 😀

James really is hilarious! He took over The Late Late Show after Craig Ferguson left; follows The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS. I never heard of him before he came to the show, but have enjoyed him every time I watch. Also liked him in the movie musical “Into the Woods”

He has a whole series of Carpool Karoke videos with various musicians on YouTube. Check ’em out. They’re a hoot! 😆

To see two women at the Nordic Summit gives me great hope for the future! We are so far behind in too many ways, can’t begin to imagine how far backwards we would have reeled, had we not been blessed to elect PBO twice! ❤ ❤

These groups, and others like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Manufacturers, have largely succeeded in creating the Supreme Court they wanted. They have used a wide range of tactics: grassroots activism, primary challenges, independent campaign spending, lobbying, scholarship, high impact litigation. Studies have shown that the Roberts Court is “much friendlier” to business than either the Burger or Rehnquist Courts. The U.S. Chamber files briefs before the Court far more often than it did in the past and wins in those cases more than two-thirds of the time.

Despite early cracks in the Republican front immediately after the Garland nomination, the roadblock seems to have solidified. With the Senate in recess for the first two weeks in May, swing state advertising is cranking up again. But no one expects anything other than a hardening of positions. Forty years of work reshaping the Court are at stake. No one is going to budge until after the election.

    **************************

This is why we Seriously have to take back the Senate…because NOTHING will change if we do not…

Privatizing VA care on the table for Republicans in 2016
    05/13/16 10:40 AM—UPDATED 05/13/16 10:45 AM
    By Steve Benen

Following up on a story we’ve been following, it was just four years ago when Mitt Romney chose to float a provocative idea on Veterans’ Day. “Sometimes you wonder,” the Republican asked, “would there be some way to introduce some private sector competition” into veterans’ care?

A spokesperson for Veterans of Foreign Wars very quickly made clear the VFW “doesn’t support privatization of veterans’ health care,” and Romney backpedaled soon after, saying he was just kicking around a hypothetical scenario he didn’t intend to pursue.

A lot has changed since 2012. As Rachel noted on the show last night, privatization of veterans’ care is back as a Republican priority, as this Wall Street Journal report yesterday helped prove.

Donald Trump says the Department of Veterans Affairs’ health-care system is badly broken, and this week his campaign released some guidelines that would steer changes he would implement if he wins the presidency.

While short on details, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee would likely push VA health care toward privatization and might move for it to become more of an insurance provider like Medicare rather than an integrated hospital system, said Sam Clovis, Mr. Trump’s chief policy adviser, in an interview.

Citing federal laws, Gupta said the law sexually discriminates against transgender people, and its proponents are misinterpreting or making up facts about gender identity.

“Here are the facts,” Gupta said sternly. “Transgender men are men — they live, work and study as men. Transgender women are women — they live, work and study as women.”

Always good to have a companion on the crazy train …

… speaking of crazy good news: my son is home from the hospital, as of mid-day! All systems go; pain management pills in his pocket for the residual stuff. The plastic surgeon said yesterday (I may have mentioned) even he didn’t think everything would be looking that good this fast (he’s apparently the most strict when it comes to the discharge, following this type of surgery). Chest X-ray came back looking great. After all that, Steve must feel like the rest of his life is gonna be like a vacation, and I hope it is!

Thanks, again, TOD – for helping his mother through it!

When it comes to business I think Trump is all smoke and mirrors. He’s probably leveraged to the hilt; he’s already stated that he doesn’t believe in fully paying back debts that he’s incurred. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m sure he has money, but I think the bulk of his wealth is tied up in real estate. I don’t think his liquid assets are all that substantial, he can’t print money like Warren Buffett and other billionaires can. Trump never talks about money, he only talks about deals and he never actually says how much he’s made off of deals.
