You just didn’t walk in; this was a concerted effort to deny me my rightful place. This is an abomination! I don’t what dark forces are at work here, but I promise to get to the bottom of it.

          The system is rigged.
          The rules are unfair.
You demand 5 seats on the committee & choice of the VP!

    Good Morning, TOD!

My apologies for the late update on Chips. She is doing okay, just understandably busy with looking after her mom and also arranging care so that her mom continues steadily on the road to progress.

She also sent her love to one and all.

I wish everyone a kind, loving, safe, and giving day.

Good morning Nerdy – thanks so much for the update on Chips & her mom. I’m glad to hear that she’s okay, and wish her success in finding the best care arrangement for her mom. Thanks for so graciously stepping forward in her absence to help keep TOD up and running as only you could do!

Thanks for your kind Memorial Day wishes, and I’m also wishing you and every TODer a peaceful and healthy Memorial Day. Deepest thoughts to everyone who has served and who has given up his/her life in service to this country and to the world.

Oh, Nerdy thank you so much for updating us. I was so concerned about Chips and her mom and missed her daily cheer. You have given both Chips and us a gift by stepping in so beautifully to keep things going, even at the earliest hours of the day. You’re a true friend. Please give Chips all of our love and tell her we’re pulling for her and her mom and hope things will soon be well for both of them.

Have a peaceful Memorial Day TOD folks. I love that PBO works for peace – we have too much and to many to remember because of never ending wars.

I was reading about this last night, it is inconceivable that the number of people who were uninsured wasn’t this low already. I mean what the hell have we been doing all this time? Are you telling me that no other President couldn’t get this number down?

      May 30, 2016 at 9:01 am

Morning, AMK. There will come a time in the not too distant future when people will forget what it was like before Obamacare. A whole generation won’t know what it was like not to have any health care at all or to fight your insurance company about a preexisting condition or to hit the lifetime cap on your insurance coverage. OCare will be like Social Security or Medicare and people will assume it was always just ‘there’ for them. People will forget how much political and personal capital PBO expended to deliver this great gift to the American people and it will be up to those of us with longer memories to remind them.

      • 29 Don
        May 30, 2016 at 9:35 am

This is so true, I believe that in the coming years whichever candidate that tries to best emulate President Obama be it a Democrat or a Republican will have a better chance of becoming President. President Obama has broken the mold and change the game when it comes to being a President, many will follow his lead.

      • May 30, 2016 at 10:31 am

        you are so right…

it is such a travesty that one the American People are not savvy about their political history…before the President…i did not pay attention to what was and what wasn’t happening in our government…or even how it works…even now….at 63 i am still learning these things…..

2nd we have a corporate press who..lies…distorts…gives misinformation making it difficult for citizens need to make intelligent decisions…

and we have a party that maintains their power by appealing to white supremacy and racism

      • 31 Betsy
        May 30, 2016 at 5:11 pm

I think this is already happening. You’re right, we must remind people of what it was like before.

The US nuclear weapons force still uses a 1970s-era computer system and 8-inch floppy disks, a government report has revealed.

The Government Accountability Office said the Pentagon was one of several departments where “legacy systems” urgently needed to be replaced.

The report said taxpayers spent $61bn (£41bn) a year on maintaining ageing technologies.

It said that was three times more than the investment on modern IT systems.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-36385839

what the frack !!! You spend trillions and still haven’t caught up with technology?

    • 39 Don
      May 30, 2016 at 9:17 am

I’m almost afraid of them upgrading to new technology, it seems as though modern IT systems are always crashing or being hacked. An 8-inch floppy disk has kept us safe for this long, we might as well keep using it.

    • May 30, 2016 at 9:44 am

Can’t fathom how or why it costs so much to maintain every year.

    https://www.propublica.org/article/what-algorithmic-injustice-looks-like-in-real-life

Courtrooms across the nation are using computer programs to predict who will be a future criminal. The programs help inform decisions on everything from bail to sentencing. They are meant to make the criminal justice system fairer — and to weed out human biases.

ProPublica tested one such program and found that it’s often wrong — and biased against blacks. (Read our story.)

Morning, Df. Why am I not surprised about a built-in racial bias. Sounds like a way to “tag” someone before they even have a chance.

    • 46 Don
      May 30, 2016 at 9:25 am

I’m not a statistician or mathematician or a person that knows all there is to know about algorithms, nor am I a criminologist. But I can safely predict what color the next mass murderer or the next person that gets caught with body parts buried in their backyard will be.

Where is the political courage, politicians don’t have any political courage anymore, they seem to always want to take the easy way out. I miss the politicians that took tough votes. Edward Kennedy, John Lewis, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, they all took tough votes.

Thank you ! This is big news in Japan.
Lots of people are visiting the Peace Memorial Museum hoping to see the cranes hand made by PBO, although they are not on display yet.
According to Asahi News Network research, 96% of the Japanese people had a favourable impression of PBO’s Hiroshima visit. 96%!!

      • May 30, 2016 at 12:32 pm

So I see that Eric Holder is trending on Twitter because he apparently said that Snowden did a “public service” whatever that means…?

    • 92 Neena20409
      May 30, 2016 at 12:59 pm

Yup. Public Discussion. Same folks making this to trend on Twitter have selective memory on all Former AG Holder had to say about the Traitor Snowden. The Traitor tweeted Only the words favoring him. Typical.
Mr. Holden echoed what POTUS has said before. I recall POTUS talking about NSA before Snowden ran & leaked classified Documents with the dastard, Greenwald(sp) in 2011. POTUS gave a speech, a very long speech and within a week or so, the Poop Snowden leaked all.
